In typical fashion, Claressa Shields is telling those criticizing her relationship with Papoose what she thinks of them. The undisputed boxing champion recently took to social media to reveal that she gets messages from fans questioning their romance. Shields said those trying to separate her from Papoose were trying to take her happiness from her.

“Everyday it’s another person trying to take this smile away [laughter emoji],” she wrote. However, the Olympic gold medallist said it was impossible to separate her and Papoose. “It ain’t happening,” she asserted, adding, “I’m bout to start exposing all yall tricks dms who come bothering me, no CAP.”

In a second post, Clarissa Shields stated that those criticizing her were “jealous” of her achievements. She said:

“I’m laughing cause this is every single day, one of these rats commenting on my page, mad about me and Pap, mad cause I’m successful, mad cause I can fight. It’s literally everyday [laughter emojis] psycho fans. They jealous: love and hate me.”

Claressa Shields Says She And Papoose Love Each Other

Clarissa Shields has always been vocal about her love for Papoose. However, she confirmed in a May 21 interview with The Breakfast Club that Papoose loves her just as much. The boxer also revealed how she and her boyfriend met and began dating during the interaction. She said Papoose had been a fan before they started dating. They met for the first time during her fight with Shakur Stevenson last July, where he introduced himself.

After Papoose introduced himself as a fan, Shields invited him to a fight in Detroit. She posted a picture of them together on Instagram and gave him VIP tickets to her next match. Clarissa Shields also discussed how their first date went, saying she liked him when they talked in person. She said Papoose was “kind, so nice” and was a “good guy,” per Complex.

She said of their current status, “I’m with him every day, and when I’m not with him, we’re on the phone every day, and we’re talking, and we’re FaceTiming. We love each other.”

The GWOAT also said she was a “secure woman” in her relationship. However, she noted that she and Papoose had only been together three months before Remy Ma, his estranged wife, exposed their relationship. She called the situation “chaos”  but said she doesn’t harbor any “ill will” towards Remy.

Claressa Shields and Papoose’s relationship has sparked considerable controversy since it began. However, Shields continues to maintain her stance that Papoose makes her happy, and she doesn’t care what anyone thinks. Meanwhile, her fans continue to hope that Papoose feels as strongly about her as she does about him.

  • Claressa Shields Says She Is Done With The Fake Love

Claressa Shields Says She Is Done With The Fake Love

Claressa Shields is no longer ready to condone fake friends. The boxing champion disclosed this in a tweet on her X account a few hours ago. She numbered her real friends and said that was all the number she was willing to trust. This is not her first time calling out fake people, as she has always spoken about betrayal from loved ones.

Claressa Shields No Longer Wants Fake Love Around Her

Claressa Shields is ready to move on with only loyal friends. A few hours ago, the combative boxer took to X, formerly Twitter, to declare her new life policy. Shields claimed she was done with fake love and would no longer entertain counterfeit friends. She noted that she was always too quick to befriend people and would no longer do that.

The boxing star wrote, “I be quick to call a mf my friend. I’m learning people are not my friend and ain’t even a good friend to their friends! I got like 6 friends that’s it, rest of the vouchers can go to hell.”

Claressa Shields’ History Of Calling Out Fake Friends

Claressa Shields didn’t mention who the six friends she will be keeping close to are. However, she previously identified Nigeria Royalè, Jeaneia Zamora, and Victoria Curenton as her best friends. She is also close to fellow boxer Danielle Perkins, whom she called her rival in the ring but her friend outside. However, Claressa Shields has always been quick to call out betrayal from friends and loved ones.

In one instance in 2024, she called out MMA fighter Cris Cyborg and accused her of betraying her trust and their friendship. Claressa Shields said Cyborg negotiated for a lower weight class for a fight she informed her of. She felt the latter’s action was unfair and said she wouldn’t do it. Things got heated and sour between the two when the issue reached social media.

“People from Saudi reached out to me about having money for me and her to have a boxing match,” Shields told MMA Mania. I called her up and was like, ‘Hey. This is what we got,’ because we were friends. I let her know the money’s on the table. I gave her the weight class, 154.” The boxer added, “I gave her the guy’s number, her and her team talked to the guy, and then all of the sudden the guy’s calling like, ‘Cris doesn’t want to fight. She said she wants to fight you at 147 or at 145… She betrayed our friendship for the internet and for clout.”

Fans React To Claressa Shields’ Statement

After Onsite posted Claressa Shields’ statement, people reacted to the undefeated boxing legend’s statement. Many tried to sincerely determine whether Claressa Shields meant to write vultures or vouchers. On the other hand, many were concerned about her turmoil-prone life, while some said six friends were still too many.

“Vouchers or Vultures??? Either way 6 is still A LOT. As you get older you’ll realize that,” someone commented. A second person said, “You’ll be down to 2 when hit your 40s.” Another person wrote, “girl just box! Damn!”

Hopefully, by reducing her friend list, Claressa Shields can trust her circle and not worry about fake friends.

Mona, AKA Don’t Call Me White Girl, Slams Claressa Shields For Calling Out Light-Skinned Women

Mona, AKA Don’t Call Me White Girl, has responded to Claressa Shields’ rant about light-skinned women. She questioned Shields’ comments about light-skinned women bullying her, noting that they are just a subset of those who dislike her. The comedian blasted Shields for her poor fashion sense, claiming that the boxer needs better stylists. Mona also attacked Claressa Shields’ facial features and said the athlete could never look sexy. Her verbal attack on Shields comes after the latter opened up about bullying from light-skinned women online.

Mona Reacts To Claressa Shields’ Disclosure About Light-Skinned Women

The comedian recently responded to Claressa Shields’ comments about online bullying from light-skinned women. She said Shields was wrong about why they hate on her and attacked her dress sense.

Mona said: “I’m gonna just put it all out there. This goes live and says that the people that hate on her the most are light-skinned girls. It’s always light-skinned girls. Light-skinned girls wake up thinking they cute cuz they light-skinned. They not even cute. Agreed, and they always hating on her. This is the truth; this is the end, the beginning, the forward, and the end. Claressa Shields, you look a f**king mess. I don’t give a f**k what you wear, where you go, you just went to an NBA game dressed like you was going to a quinceanera.”

She added that Shields needed to change her stylists, saying, “You wear Prime gowns to movie theaters; you be looking a f**king mess. I just watched you fight a b**ch from Brooklyn in a pair of soft Butters butt naked. You look a f**king mess. You need a Godd**n stylist.” The podcast host then noted that Shields’ features didn’t help her. She said those who have underbites like the boxer “are funny-looking.” Mona also said Shields has a “funny mouth,” and described her as “funny built.”

Mona Disagrees With Claressa Shields’ Light-Skinned Women Comments

After sharing that Claressa Shields “lacked sex appeal,” Mona said light-skinned women were not the boxer’s antagonists. She claimed everyone in Shields’ comment section shared the same opinion about her. “The brown, the light, the white, the Latin b***hes, the men, the women, the trans, everybody talking about that quinceanera s**t,” she said. Mona said that light-skinned and everyone else constantly criticized Claressa Shields because she “looks crazy,” adding, “Her jewelry is ugly.”

“We all talking about you, Claressa as a family, as a unit. We come together in your comments to talk about your outfit. It’s so much unity in your comments. All of us against you,” Mona concluded.

Claressa Shields Complains of Treatment From Light-Skinned Women

Mona’s criticism of Claressa Shields’ style came a few days after the boxer complained that light-skinned women hated her. Shields went on Instagram Live this week, where she disclosed the intense scrutiny from a certain group of women. She said light-skinned women constantly called her “ugly” and withheld support.

The boxer revealed, “The truth is, I feel like the ones that bully me the most are light-skinned women. They say I’m ugly; they say all sorts of things to me.”

Shields said she doesn’t let the hate “bother” her and affirmed her commitment to keep fighting. She said she wouldn’t let the vitriol stop her and encouraged fans to face their challenges head-on. “You have to keep fighting,” she said.

Claressa Shields’ comments about light-skinned women attacking her underscore the divides that still exist based on skin color. Hopefully, the boxer will keep going and consider Mona’s feedback about her style.

  • Claressa Shields’ Titles At Risk After She Tested Positive For “Small” Traces Of Marijuana

Claressa Shields’ Titles At Risk After She Tested Positive For “Small” Traces Of Marijuana

Claressa Shields has been suspended and faces losing her titles after a test detected minute traces of marijuana in her system. The test and subsequent suspension came on the heels of Shields’ last fight against Danielle Perkins in Michigan. However, Shields has denied smoking and promised that the truth will be out.

    Claressa Shields Suspended From Boxing

Claressa Shields has been suspended and is at risk of losing her titles after a test detected drugs in her body. The two-time Olympic gold medalist got into trouble after her last win against heavyweight Danielle Perkins. The boxing champions went head-to-head in Flint, Michigan, on February 2, and Shields knocked Perkins out with a unanimous decision. Her victory won her the title of boxing’s first undisputed women’s heavyweight champion, but the celebration was short-lived.

Shields got suspended by the Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission after the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) ran a test on her and Perkins following their fight. Their test was in line with the World Boxing Council Clean Boxing Program stipulation. Athletes are banned from using marijuana in competitions by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), but the ‘oral fluid sample’ taken from Shields revealed small traces of marijuana in her body.

WBO Calls Claressa Shields For Enquiry

After being suspended, The World Boxing Organization (WBO) asked Claressa Shields to appear for an inquiry. The WBO is not authorized to suspend boxers but can request a “show notice.” In the meantime, the Michigan Commission is also investigating whether Shields needs to be disciplined.

The Michigan Commission said on Thursday, February 20:

“Ms. Shields’ conduct as a licensed professional boxer constitutes an immediate threat to the integrity of professional boxing, the public interest and the welfare and safety of professional athletes.”

    Shields Responds To Being Suspended

The boxer has refuted doping allegations and being suspended on X, formerly Twitter. She wrote:

“On my soul can’t nobody tarnish my image. It’s a temporary suspension til I go to trial for this very small amount of marijuana.”

The undisputed world champion in three weight classes asserted that she was not in danger of losing her titles, writing:

“I’m not SUSPENDED from boxing, I’m not stripped of my titles. I’m just waiting. Also I can’t defend a lie! Do your research!”

She also reacted to another post on X that said:

“Breaking: Claressa Shields has been suspended from fighting in the state of Michigan and is being investigated after testing positive for… Marijuana.”

    Shields responded:

“This isn’t breaking. And it’s not a thinking pose” (referring to OP’s thinking emoticon).

    She continued:

“It was marijuana, no PEDs. Also, @arielhelwani it’s a temporary suspension til I go for trial for the petite amount.” She concluded, “I’ve never smoked weed.”

Fans React To Claressa Shields Being Suspended

After finding out Claressa Shields was suspended, some fans suspected the test must have detected secondhand smoke from the boxer, given her claims that she never smoked. Some also assumed that Papoose got Claressa Shields suspended. A fan wrote:

“Second hand smoke she clearly said she doesn’t smoke.”

    A second person said:

“Smh she better stop risking it just to look cool with Pap.”

    Another person remarked:

“She too busy trying to be a rapper’s girl.”

Claressa Shields is one of the greatest women boxers in history and was undefeated in 16 fights before she was suspended. Hopefully, the inquiry will determine the truth, and the boxer will also avoid secondhand smoke.

  • Muhammad Ali’s Ex-Wife Khalilah Ali Urges Claressa Shields To Beat Laila Ali As Payback

Muhammad Ali’s Ex-Wife Khalilah Ali Urges Claressa Shields To Beat Laila Ali As Payback

Muhammad Ali’s ex-wife, Khalilah Ali, is still harboring grudges against Ali’s third wife after more than four decades since she divorced him. Ali had cheated on Khalilah with Veronica Porsche Ali, which led to their divorce in 1977, an incident Khalilah seems not to have let go of. She recently attended one of Claressa Shield’s events and urged the female boxing champion to fight and beat Porsche and Ali’s daughter, Laila Ali, as payback.

Muhammad Ali’s Ex-Wife Supports Claressa Shields Against Laila Ali

Muhammad Ali’s ex-wife is the definition of never letting go. The 74-year-old actress was at Claressa Shields’ fight against Danielle Perkins for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world when she revealed she still harbored a grudge against Laila Ali’s mom, Veronica Porsche Ali, and wanted Shields to beat Laila as retribution. Khalilah met with Shields’ representative, and after introducing herself, she said:

“I wanna back [Shields’] up. Kick Laila’s a**. That’s why I come to see her.”

After the rep told Khalilah Shields’ was on her way, the latter asked to see the boxer before she left.

“I’ll take her to Dubai to kick Laila’s ass. She my hero,” she told the rep.

After Shield’s rep decided to record, Khalilah revealed it was because Laila’s mom got with her ex-husband.

“It’s payback time. Yeah, I want everybody to know it,” she added.

However, Muhammad Ali’s ex-wife clarified that she doesn’t hate Laila and revealed that she talks to the female champion.

“But she’s going down,” Khalilah stated.

Laila Ali and Claressa Shields’ Have a Longtime Feud

Muhammad Ali’s ex-wife also told Shield’s rep that she knew Laila would come out of retirement to fight Shields if there was enough money to motivate her.

“[Laila] is 40 years old now, and once we put money on the table, she’ll come out of the woodwork,” Khalilah said, citing Mike Tyson’s last fight as an example. “I know she been talking smack about Claressa. Laila has,” she concluded.

Muhammad Ali’s ex-wife’s statement referenced the longstanding beef between Laila Ali and Claressa Shields. They have been at loggerheads since 2012, when Shields contacted Laila for mentorship.

Shields has also questioned Laila’s achievements. Laila acknowledged Shields’ confidence but asked her not to burn bridges or question her legacy. However, Shields took offense and posted a video online, claiming that Laila was “jealous” of her success and that she had surpassed Ali’s daughter’s achievements as a boxer.

“This is my era now, and she’s never supported me in my era,” Shields said.

Laila Ali Willing to Fight Claressa Shields

Claressa Shields later asked Laila for a fight to set things straight. During a 2020 interview with ESPN’s First Take at the MGM Grand, the latter responded that she would come out of retirement to fight Shields if she got enough motivation.

“[Shields’] been calling me out. She’s taken offense to some things I’ve said in the past that had nothing to do with her,” Laila said and added, “And people are asking me: Would you come back? Well, I have to be inspired by the opponent.”

    She added:

“I have to be inspired by the purse because I have multiple things going on, multiple streams of income. I don’t need to do it. I have to want to do it. Of course, especially (because of) that mouth. When it’s personal, that starts a fire, right? And when the money’s right and it makes sense, then why not?”

Meanwhile, Mark Taffet, Shields’ manager, told ESPN that he talked to Laila’s team about a possible boxing event between the two women. Laila retired from boxing in 2007 when Shields was 12.

  • Claressa Shields Responds To Laila Ali’s ‘Burning Bridges’ Comment

Claressa Shields Responds To Laila Ali’s ‘Burning Bridges’ Comment

Claressa Shields and Laila Ali have yet to face each other in a boxing ring, but they are having a smooth fight online. These two reputable female boxers have recently tugged at each other’s hair without backing down. But the most recent reaction is from Shields, a younger fighter who is all out to create a legacy.

Laila Ali Targets Claressa Shields In A Recent Interview

At first, Ali and Shields established a mentor-mentee relationship worthy of envy.  But it did not take long before it deteriorated into a rivalry that metamorphosed into a public spat. However, both women have maintained their distance recently. Yet, they did not back down when it came to clawing at each other with their words.

In a rather honest tone, Ali recently revealed that she inspired Shields, but she soon began questioning the older fighter’s feats. In a 2019 “Sways Universe” interview, Shields touted her fighting abilities by claiming she would defeat Ali.

While Ali never doubted the younger boxer’s prowess, she felt disrespected as Shields often raved about her underachievement. The 47-year-old further resounded that Shield’s attitude would be her undoing. In the interview, she claimed:

“I see that she gets into it with a lot of people. She gets into it with a lot of female fighters. She gets into it with male fighters. So obviously that’s a thing for her. Hopefully, she’ll figure that out because you’re not going to get very far in this life if you continue burning bridges.”

Just as the words came out of Ali’s mouth, Shields, known for her combative nature, reacted. The latter proved to be in her era while lambasting her senior colleague.

Claressa Shields Blasts  Laila Ali’s “Burning Bridges” Comment

Via a five-minute clip, the 29-year-old fighter went up against Ali. She debuted the attack by stating her disinterest in speaking about her rival. Next, the fighter maintained that Ali’s entire expression was made out of jealousy.

“I’ve been come to terms that she’s jealous. Now, I got the biopic. I got the fight coming up. She act like I owe her something, it’s weird,” she shared.

As if that was not enough, Shields peeled off Ali’s comments, layer by layer, showing her fearlessness and readiness to defend herself. The boxer felt insulted by Ali for saying she was “burning bridges.” In her rebuttal, Shields maintained that she was miles ahead of her supposed mentor and didn’t need to bother about going far as she was already far.

Ultimately, she blasted the 47-year-old for not minding her business and dishing out sisterly advice. Despite the words of wisdom from Ali, Shields revealed that her former mentee was never truly supportive of her career. However, once she commented on every word regarding excesses from Ali, the younger fighter praised other mentees she deemed worthy.

Indeed, both Ali and Shields have made a mark in the boxing community through their handwork and successes. The former has set herself apart with noteworthy achievements in women’s sports, while the latter regards herself as the Greatest Women Boxer of All Times—duly earned.

  • Claressa Shields Calls Out Female Boxers Over Lack of Support for Her Biopic

Claressa Shields Calls Out Female Boxers Over Lack of Support for Her Biopic

Claressa Shields’ biopic is out, but the boxer is not in her happy feelings. She took to her social media recently to call out female boxers for not supporting her and claimed they were jealous of her success. Shields is one of the best female professional boxers. She has displayed considerable talent and skill over the years and is regarded as one of the “GWOATS (Greatest Women Of All Time).” However, Shields has claimed other female boxers hate that she is successful.

Claressa Shields Disappointed At Female Boxers’ Biopic Response

Claressa Shields is frustrated with her colleagues’ response to her biopic or the lack thereof. The movie about Shield’s life, upbringing, and career was released on December 25. However, the female fighter was disappointed with the underwhelming response from female boxers and took to X, formerly Twitter, to express her feelings.

“So let’s talk about it! A whole biopic about my life & my journey in boxing but only 2 female champions have said anything about it!,” Claressa Shields exclaimed. “But y’all love to call me a hater! FOh! These girls been hating on me! That’s why I shine so bright AND Still! GOD GONNA ALWAYS DO HIS BIG ONE FOR ME!,” she said, adding a star emoji to her post.

    Shields’ Biopic Is Widely Acclaimed

Since its release on Christmas Day, Claressa Shields’ biopic has garnered wide acclaim and praise. Fire Inside, formerly named Flint Strong, tells how Shields escaped her impoverished Flint, Michigan, home by overcoming several obstacles. It also details how the mixed martial artist became the first American woman to win gold in the Olympics at 17 and is one of the most decorated female boxers in history.

Claressa Shields’ biopic has been rated highly on Rotten Tomatoes, and Google is being compared to Million Dollar Baby. The latter is another female-led boxing drama that won several awards two decades ago. Athletes, including Regis Progais and Dawn Stanley, have also praised Fire Inside and congratulated Shields.

Fans Respond To Claressa Shields’ Criticism

Fans quickly called out Claressa Shields’ comments about other female boxers regarding her biopic. They asked her to be grateful, thank those congratulating her, and ignore the rest. Many fans also tried to connect the response to Claressa Shields’ biopic with her behavior.

“It’s because no one is interested in you or your career. Sorry,” someone said. “Put this energy towards thanking and be grateful for the people that said something. Dont take them for granted ❤️,” Another person advised.

    A third person said:

“I’m a be real they not hating they just don’t like you and I think u know that. You have become unlikeable to ur peers who is gonna show up to a premier of someone they don’t like ? i think you need to thank the ppl who did show up and not focus on the ppl who didn’t.”

    Meanwhile, someone said:

“respectfully they probably didn’t see it yet.” Another fan advised Shields, saying, “We saw it yesterday, Its such a great film! Don’t worry about what others say, stay focused.”

As fans have rightly said, Shields’ colleagues may not have seen her biopic yet. Hopefully, she can focus on her win and ignore the distractions and supposed hate she thinks she is getting.

  • Claressa Shields Expresses Her Desire to Fight Remy Ma Over Leaked Number

Claressa Shields Expresses Her Desire to Fight Remy Ma Over Leaked Number

Claressa Shields and Remy Ma’s beef keeps getting worse. However, fans have been able to get clarity on many things while they fight dirty online. Shields recently challenged the rapper to a fight, which got many speculating that she wanted to beat Ma for her husband. However, the professional boxer has cleared the air on why she wants to fight her boyfriend’s wife, and it is not for the reason people think.

Claressa Shields Explains Why She Wants to Battle Remy Ma

Shields has revealed her reasons for challenging Remy Ma to a fight. The mixed martial artist was with sports journalist Jemele Hill on the Spolitics Podcast to promote her new movie The Fire Inside when she disclosed why she had a beef enough to want to fight the musician. According to Claressa Shields, her desire to beat Ma has nothing to do with the cheating scandal involving her, Papoose, and Remy Ma. Rather, it has to do with Ma infringing on her privacy.

“At this point the girl leaked my number. So at this point, you can give me a dollar and I’ll put my hand over her,” Shields responded when asked how much she could fight Ma for. “It don’t have nothing to do with whatever else. That part there is where it’s like, I’m a businesswoman. Don’t leak my number. Why would you do that? I mean, drama sells. I’m not in that beef. My smoke with her is posting my number. So people like, ‘Oh, she wants to fight her over a dude, whatever,’ stop it. Stop it. That is so beneath me.”

Claressa Shields Expressed Desire to Fight Any Woman

Claressa Shields had earlier challenged any woman who would beat her in a boxing match before calling out Remy Ma. She promised a $100,000 reward, but no one responded to the challenge. She then challenged Ma to fight her on her X, formerly Twitter account. Against this backdrop, Hill asked her how much she would take to fight Ma, considering she always got paid to fight professionally.

Claressa Shields, Remy Ma, and Papoose

Ma and Shields’ feud began last week after Ma took to social media to accuse her husband, Papoose, of infidelity. Ma claimed that Papoose was cheating with Shields and leaked chats and texts between them to prove her allegations. Papoose and Shields clapped back with counter allegations of Ma cheating with another rapper, Eazy The Block Captain, and the media war has continued since then.

Papoose also claimed that Ma wasn’t home with their daughter during the last Christmas because she was tending to her lover, who he beat up. However, she debunked the allegations and shared a video as evidence. Meanwhile, Ma has also accused Papoose and Shields of planning to release revenge porn about her.

It would be good if Claressa Shields and Remy Ma settled their scores off the internet without a fight. Fans and other celebrities, including 50 Cent, have also tried to warn the boxer about challenging Ma to a fight since the rapper once went to jail for shooting at a friend.

#Clique, what do you think of Claressa Shields’ reason for wanting a fight with Remy Ma? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
