Parents Arrested and Charged After Their 8-Month-Old Child Died From Fentanyl Exsposure, Officials Say

A mother and father, Jeffrey Terakami, 36, and Kara Marie Dugan, 31, have been apprehended in connection to the death of their 8-month-old child after an autopsy report discovered that the child was exposed to fentanyl, officials say, according to FOX

Nevada officials responded to the residence on Nov. 15, 2022, after they received a call about an unresponsive child. Once authorities arrived, they began conducting methods to help save the child. The unidentified infant was then transported to a Henderson, Nevada hospital and sadly, declared deceased. An autopsy by the Clark County Coroner’s Office was performed which revealed that the cause of death was

    “a result of fentanyl toxicity,”

according to FOX. Reports say the child was also exposed to methamphetamine.

The parents were interviewed and they both admitted that the infant was exposed to methamphetamine and fentanyl after the father had a bag filled with both drugs on the bed, which spilled. The parents confessed that the infant was later allowed to crawl on the

“bed where the drugs were spilled.”

They were both charged with second-degree murder.

  • Lawyer Arrested For Allegedly Trying To Buy Drugs From Clients He Later Represented On Drug-Dealing Charges

Lawyer Arrested For Allegedly Trying To Buy Drugs From Clients He Later Represented On Drug-Dealing Charges

A British lawyer was arrested after allegedly trying to purchase drugs from two men he later represented on drug-dealing charges, Insider reported.

According to ITV News, Henry Hendron was caught messaging two men on his cell phone, asking them to buy methamphetamine and GBL. The 42-year-old later represented the dealers, Arno Smit and Ezra Benson, on drug charges. Hendron counseled Smit at the police station, the justice court, and Woolwich Crown Court, where Smit pleaded not guilty in November 2021, according to The Guardian.

    Hendron later confessed to

“two counts of intentionally encouraging or assisting the supply of class A drugs, a similar charge involving class C drugs, and possession of a class A drug,”

the newspaper reported. According to ITV News, the judge told Hendron,

“You were messaging a client of yours who was later to face crown court proceedings for supply of drugs, you were encouraging him to supply you with drugs, then went to court to represent him.”

“So there is an abuse of responsibility to that defendant and an abuse of responsibility to the court,”

    the judge added.

Hendron reportedly had previous run-ins with the law. He was convicted of three DUI charges and was arrested in 2015 after his 18-year-old boyfriend died of a drug overdose at his residence, reports reveal.

  • Mother Loses Custody Of 2-Year-Old After Child Shoves Ecstasy Pill Up Nose

Mother Loses Custody Of 2-Year-Old After Child Shoves Ecstasy Pill Up Nose

A French mother has lost custody of her two-year-old after an ecstasy pill became stuck in one of the child’s nostrils, The New York Post reported.

According to a French medical journal, a mother in Toulouse, France notified emergency services after her daughter had gotten ahold of a box above their fridge where she kept ecstasy pills, and stuck one of tablets up her nose. The mother attempted to remove the pill, but was only able take out part of it. She then rushed the child to hospital.

As the child began receiving medical care, medics noticed her becoming restless and agitated. Tests revealed that the toddler had a heart rate of 148 beats per minute, high blood pressure, and dilated pupils. After medication was given to the 2-year-old intravenously, her heart rate and blood pressure stabilized, and she was discharged from the hospital hours later.

The incident led to an investigation that later deemed the mother unfit to parent, and the toddler was taken out of her care. The child is now in the custody of her paternal grandmother.
