Missouri Man Forced Ex-Girlfriend To Watch Him As He Dug Her Grave Before Murdering Her, Say Investigators

A man from rural Missouri is charged with kidnapping and murdering his ex-girlfriend, per Fox 2 Now. He allegedly made her watch as he dug her grave.

The incident took place on June 20 in a wooded area on Haven of Rest Road. Authorities say that 36-year-old Tony L. Charboneau attacked his ex, Amy Hogue, during a fight, hitting and kicking her. After the attack, Charboneau and his current girlfriend, Brandi L. Luffy, placed Hogue in a manual wheelchair and tied her up with straps.

They gathered shovels, tarps, a pickaxe, and a gun, putting them in the back of Charboneau’s vehicle. They then lifted Hogue, still in the wheelchair, into the vehicle. Charboneau drove to a wooded area near his home, where he and Luffy took Hogue out of the vehicle and brought her to a hill in the woods.

Charboneau used a shovel and pickaxe to dig a shallow grave, according to the authorities. He then took Hogue out of the wheelchair and shot her in the head. Hogue was 43 years old.

Jodi Arias, Who Is Incarcerated For The Brutal Slaying Of Boyfriend, Is Using Her Time To Sell Her Artwork Online

Jodi Arias, a woman serving a life sentence in Arizona for killing her on-off boyfriend in 2008, is selling her artwork online and it isn’t cheap, according to her website. Despite being in prison, she works with her family to maintain a website and Instagram page to showcase her art, as reported by the NY Post

Although her website says she’s not taking requests at the moment, Arias mentioned on Instagram that she painted a cow for someone who requested it for their office. She also mentioned that one of her prison guards would closely observe the painting process.

“An officer interested in the painting’s progress kept asking me how ‘ol’ girl’ was coming along,”

    she wrote in the caption.

“She said it several times and it clicked: that’s the title!”

According to her website, an original acrylic painting titled

    “Beyond the Horizon”

is selling for $2,500. Her prints go for between $28 to $39. Additionally, she offers a set of collectible postcards for $34.95.

Jodi Arias is currently serving a life sentence without parole for the first-degree murder of Travis Alexander whom she killed in 2008. The evidence presented during the trial showed that Arias stabbed Alexander 27 times, slit his throat, and shot him in the head. Arias claimed it was in self-defense, however, she was convicted by a jury in 2013. Although the jury couldn’t agree on the death penalty, a second sentencing trial in 2014-2015 resulted in Arias being sentenced to life in prison without parole.

While Arias sells her artwork, it is not against any laws according to the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry. Arias’ family mentioned on her website that the money earned from selling her artwork is used to buy more art supplies.

“Ten percent of it is donated to select nonprofit organizations,”

    the website says.

“Some of it will go towards Jodi’s appeals.”

Trans Woman Allegedly Runs Over Man, Then Kisses His Lifeless Body Before Stabbing Him 9 Times

A disturbing incident occurred where a woman intentionally hit a man with her car, then backed over him, and proceeded to kiss his lifeless body before repeatedly stabbing him, per the NY Post. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Karon Fisher, is reported to be a transgender woman.

The victim, Steven Anderson, 64, was simply going to pick up the mail in his Houston neighborhood on May 3 when the incident took place. Video footage captured the white vehicle speeding down the road and intentionally swerving to strike Anderson. The car then reversed and hit him a second time, pushing his body further down the street.

Witnesses quickly appeared on the scene, some pulling out their phones while another brought a pillow to cover Anderson’s body. Shockingly, the driver returned to the scene, flipped Anderson’s body over, straddled him, and kissed him before stabbing him several times.

Fisher, who was dressed in a black bra and high-waisted black shorts, attempted to get into another car while horrified witnesses watched. When she failed to enter the vehicle, she walked over Anderson’s body and left the scene on foot. Fisher was later arrested and charged with murder, evading arrest with a vehicle, and assaulting hospital personnel. It remains unclear whether the two individuals had a relationship.

Despite being identified as male on court records, Fisher was referred to as a woman by the police. • Bodycam Footage Released Of Airman Fatally Shot By Cop, Sheriff Dispute Claim That Deputy Went Into Wrong Apartment

Bodycam Footage Released Of Airman Fatally Shot By Cop, Sheriff Dispute Claim That Deputy Went Into Wrong Apartment

The sheriff of Okaloosa County, Florida, released bodycam footage of a deputy shooting a Black airman in his home. The sheriff disagreed with the victim’s family’s claim that the deputy had entered the wrong apartment. The victim, identified as Roger Fortson, was an active-duty senior airman. His family described him as a patriotic individual who wanted to provide a home for his mother and siblings, according to ABC

The sheriff, after meeting with Fortson’s family, requested the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Division to conduct the necessary criminal investigation. The deputy involved has been put on administrative leave while the investigation is ongoing

    Sheriff Eric Aden said,

“What we do know at this time is that the deputy did announce himself, not once but twice.”

Despite the sheriff’s statement, Fortson’s family still believes the officer went to the wrong home.

    What led to the shooting?

Last Friday, deputies were called to an apartment due to a reported disturbance. Upon hearing the sounds, a deputy acted in self-defense when confronted by a 23-year-old armed man. Sadly, the man died from his injuries.

On May 3rd, a deputy arrived at an apartment complex in response to a disturbance. A woman informed the deputy about the situation in apartment 1401, mentioning loud noises and a possible altercation. The woman later informed officials that she had passed by the apartment earlier and heard yelling and a sound like a slap, but she couldn’t determine where it came from. The deputy went to the fourth floor, knocked on the door, and identified himself, but there was no response captured on the bodycam footage.

As soon as the apartment door opened, the deputy quickly commands Fortson to step back and shoots his weapon.

Attorney Ben Crump released a four-minute FaceTime call on Thursday, which he claims shows Fortson talking to his girlfriend before being shot.

  • Elderly Missouri Man Confess To Strangling Wife In Hospital Due To Medical Bills, ‘I Did It’

Elderly Missouri Man Confess To Strangling Wife In Hospital Due To Medical Bills, ‘I Did It’

An elderly man from Missouri has been arrested after admitting to the tragic killing of his sick wife, reports the NY Post. It is alleged that 76-year-old Ronnie Wiggs suffocated his wife by covering her mouth and strangling her with his hands while she lay in a hospital bed.

The incident occurred at the Centerpoint Medical Center, where his wife, who was not named in court documents, was receiving treatment for a dialysis port replacement. When authorities arrived at the scene in response to reports of an assault, they discovered the woman unresponsive and without a pulse. Witnesses also noticed

    “suspicious”

    marks on her neck.

Initially, Wiggs had fled the hospital, but he later returned and was overheard confessing to the murder.

“I did it, I killed her, I choked her,”

Wiggs was heard saying by hospital staff, court records showed.

Despite receiving medical treatment, Wiggs’s wife tragically lost her life after the attack. Wiggs was taken into custody, where he once again admitted to the crime. He described how he silenced his wife’s screams by covering her mouth and then proceeded to strangle her with his hands until she passed away.

Disturbingly, this was not the first attempt on his wife’s life. During the investigation, Wiggs confessed to two previous incidents where he had tried to harm her during her hospital stays. He cited feelings of depression and financial strain as the reason for the attacks, as he could no longer afford to cover her extensive medical expenses.

Wiggs is being held on a $250,000 bond as the legal proceedings continue.

  • Texas Man Sentenced To 40 Years In Prison After Confessing To Brutally Murdering Wife With Nail Gun

Texas Man Sentenced To 40 Years In Prison After Confessing To Brutally Murdering Wife With Nail Gun

Lam Ngoc Tran, a 65-year-old man from Texas, has confessed to the horrific murder of his wife, My Thai Dang. The tragic incident involved Tran brutally attacking his wife with a nail gun in their home, Law&Crime reported.

In a desperate attempt to end his own life, Tran then turned the tool on himself, shooting himself in the face and wrist. However, his suicide attempt was unsuccessful. On Thursday, Judge Veronica M. Nelson of the Harris County District Court sentenced Tran to 40 years in prison for the crime. This decision was based on court records obtained by Law&Crime.

“This is a horrible murder, and it reinforces that the most dangerous time for a battered spouse is when they are trying to leave the relationship,”

Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said in a statement following the sentencing hearing.

“This woman was trying to get away from an abusive husband, and the only reason she is dead is because he could not stand to lose control of her.”

In May, Tran confessed to murdering his wife, who had recently filed for divorce. Police were called to their residence on Jan 10, 2022, where they discovered Dang’s lifeless body covered in blood, with severe injuries to her face and head. A bloody nail with human hair was also found nearby.

Tran was found near his wife in the living room with significant facial and bodily injuries. Law enforcement discovered a nail gun and air compressor nearby. An autopsy revealed that Dang’s injuries matched the pattern of the nail gun, indicating she had been struck multiple times.

Tran’s son and Dang’s niece confirmed that Dang filed for divorce in August 2021 and served Tran with papers on Dec. 18, 2021. Dang’s niece shared that on the day of serving, Dang called her while hiding in her closet due to Tran’s anger. Dang also confided in her niece that Tran intended to delay the divorce process, in hopes she wouldn’t follow through.

Additionally, Tran’s daughter informed the police that on Jan. 9, 2022, Tran sent a text to her and her siblings, stating that he was leaving and they should contact their uncle if needed, before saying goodbye. This incident occurred ahead of a court hearing for a restraining order Dang had requested against her husband.

Texas Mother Fatally Shoots Daughter’s Abusive Boyfriend After He Allegedly Dared Her, Saying, ‘Just Go Ahead and Shoot Me!’

A mother from Texas has been taken into custody after allegedly shooting her daughter’s abusive boyfriend during a heated altercation in which he reportedly shouted,

    “Just shoot me,”

    reports the NY Post

Patricia Conlon, aged 49, visited the Dallas home of Joshua Troutte on Sunday after her daughter revealed that she was ending their nearly two-year-long abusive relationship due to his continued violent behavior.

According to law enforcement documents cited by Fox 4, Troutte’s roommate told police that he witnessed Conlon entering the residence armed and initiating an argument, during which Troutte yelled the aforementioned phrase. The roommate further stated that he heard multiple gunshots, eventually finding Troutte deceased in the bathroom.

When questioned by the police, Conlon claimed that her original intention was to hold Troutte at gunpoint until the authorities arrived to apprehend him for hitting her daughter above the eye with a phone. However, she admitted to the fatal shooting, insisting that she acted in self-defense after Troutte physically restrained her by grabbing her arm and pulling her hair, she told police.

The police, however, disputed Conlon’s claim of self-defense. They pointed out that she had tried to hold Troutte at gunpoint and regarded her use of deadly force as

    “unreasonable,”

according to the affidavit. Conlon was immediately arrested and charged with murder.

According to local reports, Troutte had an extensive criminal background, including a prior guilty plea for assault and family violence in 2018.

  • Mother Confesses To Submerging Newborn In Bathtub In An Attempt To Conceal Methamphetamine In Baby’s System

Mother Confesses To Submerging Newborn In Bathtub In An Attempt To Conceal Methamphetamine In Baby’s System

In a disturbing case, a 24-year-old mother from Iowa has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for drowning her newborn daughter in a bathtub just minutes after giving birth at home, reports the NY Post

The motive behind this horrifying act was to conceal the fact that the baby had methamphetamine in her system. Taylor Blaha, the mother, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and requested an immediate sentencing. She will have to serve at least 35 years, or 70% of her sentence, before being eligible for parole.

Brandon Thoma, the boyfriend, and father of Blaha’s two children, also admitted guilt for child endangerment leading to death and corpse abuse. They drowned their newborn daughter in a partially filled bathtub to silence her, then disposed of her body in an undisclosed wooded area. Blaha admitted being under the influence of methamphetamine during delivery and was afraid of losing custody of their 2-year-old if child services found out about their drug use.

This tragic series of events began when Blaha informed Thoma of her pregnancy, expressing their original intention of having a family member adopt their second child. Later, evidence was found on their cellphones indicating searches on inducing a miscarriage. Blaha requested methamphetamine from Thoma during labor to alleviate the pain. The newborn, named Kayleen, was born alive, but her parents decided to drown her to avoid raising suspicion from neighbors and child services.

Blaha shared a chilling statement in court, revealing that Thoma encouraged her to continue submerging their baby when she attempted to stop. They kept a portion of the baby’s umbilical cord as a keepsake before swaddling her in garbage bags and placing her in a backpack. Despite extensive searches, Kayleen’s body has not been located.

Initially facing a first-degree murder charge, Blaha ultimately pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of second-degree murder. Thoma, who also faced a first-degree murder charge, reached a plea deal and is awaiting sentencing. The devastating consequences of their actions have left a community in shock and a baby girl’s body still missing.
