Couple Is Suing JPMorgan Chase After Accusing Bank Of Drilling Open Their Safe Deposit Boxes & Selling $10 Million Of Their Valuables When They Failed To Pay Rent For Boxes

A Philippines couple who is suing JPMorgan Chase claimed the bank sold $8 million to $10 million worth of valuable items from a safe box they had with the bank in New York City, reports Business Insider

Although the couple, Jorge and Stella Araneta, reside in the Philippines, they own an apartment in New York City. The couple is accusing the bank of invading four out of seven of their safe deposit boxes after they failed to pay their safe deposit box rent, says a complaint filed on March 22, 2022.

The couple said they failed to pay their safe deposit box rent because the bank didn’t send the bills to the correct address. Reports say the bank allegedly sent final notices to renew two boxes to a PO box in Louisiana. The Louisiana address didn’t belong to the Araneta’s nor did they authorize it. The letters were sent back to the bank. The complaint said that back in 2019, the couple paid off an outstanding rent balance in full when they were at the bank in person renewing their leases.

Reports say the bank sold their items in the safe box for $552,700 at the beginning of summer 2020.

The couple’s complaint revealed that they began renting from the bank back in 2006 and renewed their lease yearly. It’s unclear how much the lease costs; however the pair made four $190.53 payments in May 2014 toward the safe boxes. Around Feb. 17, 2017, the bank opened four of their safe deposit boxes without informing the couple and removed the items inside the box.

Jorge and Stella Araneta are currently looking for compensation for their belongings. The items in the safe box included gold coins, jewelry, and Rolex watches

    According to Business Insider,

“the case is proceeding with negligence and other counts.”

New York Mother Distraught After 13-Year-Old Son Stabs Sister Multiple Times

A 13-year-old in Queens is facing assault charges after stabbing his 14-year-old sister multiple times inside their home Saturday night, the New York Post reported.

Investigators say that during an argument between the two, the unnamed 13-year-old stabbed his sister with a steak knife, and then called 911 to report “somebody with a knife breaking into the house.” Despite suffering wounds to her back, legs, thighs, arms, and face, the victim was able to point to her brother as the attacker.

Rupiah Begum, the mother of the teenagers, is distraught about what has occurred. The mother of five says she was at work, five minutes away from the house, when she received a call that her son had attacked her daughter. Her husband, and the children’ father, was away on a trip to Bangladesh.

“I don’t know what happened,” Begum told The Post in an interview. “Everything is good usually. They play together. No problems usually.”

Begum says that immediately following the incident, the young suspect called her, stating that something was wrong and that he was angry. The reasoning for the attack remains unclear, but investigators were told by the child that the stabbing was the result of her “bothering him.” No additional information has been released.

“He screams a lot and there’s, you know, there’s a lot of yelling,” one of their neighbors explained. “They came here three years ago. Nicest neighbors we ever had. Never any trouble at all.”

The victim is alive, but is in critical conditions. She is currently being treated at Jamaica Hospital, while her brother and attacker remains in police custody.

Julia Fox’s Father and Brother Arrested After Officials Discover Firearms and Drug-Making Materials At Their Home

Julia Fox’s father and brother, Thomas and Christopher Fox, were apprehended after cops discovered firearms and

    “evidence of narcotics manufacturing,”

in their apartment in New York City, according to the New York Post. PageSix reports that the discovery and arrest left the actress shocked. The bust was made as a part of a bigger

    “ghost gun investigation.”

Following the raid, officials retrieved several ghost guns. If you’re unaware, ghost guns are guns that don’t contain trackable serial numbers. Officials also retrieved polymer material as well as 3D printers. Investigators managed to recover unidentified pills, pressure cookers, fentanyl, heroin, and tools used to create explosives.

Both men were taken into custody and hit with multiple charges.

NYPD confirmed that they searched the apartment of Fox’s relatives.

    A spokesperson said,

“The NYPD’s Ghost Gun Team seized several ghost gun parts as well as equipment for pressing narcotics pills.”

“Team members also discovered materials typically used as components in explosives, including pressure cookers and various chemicals, which can also be used for manufacturing narcotics.”

    The spokesperson continued,

“At this time, the matter is believed to be contained, with no apparent nexus to terrorism… The NYPD will continue to fight relentlessly against illegal guns — against both the steady proliferation of traditionally-manufactured firearms and the increasingly prevalent numbers of illegal, untraceable but fully functioning weapons known as ghost guns.”

Officials were notified after reports of questionable online purchases were made and delivered to their address.

  • NYC’s ‘Bling Bishop’ Lamor Whitehead Allegedly Faked Bank Documents To Buy NJ Mansion

NYC’s ‘Bling Bishop’ Lamor Whitehead Allegedly Faked Bank Documents To Buy NJ Mansion

It looks like NYC’s ‘Bling Bling’ Bishop, Lamor Whitehead, is back in headlines for allegedly faking bank documents to finance his New Jersey mansion, NY Post reported.

Whitehead first gained international notoriety in 2022 after being robbed at gunpoint at his Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries in Brooklyn, New York during a live stream. The 44-year-old received enormous backlash from critics about his choice to sport designer labels and luxury cars. Since then, the Bishop has been having a hard time dodging the media. As of recently, he faces federal fraud charges for allegedly faking important documents to receive a quarter-million dollar business loan in 2018.

According to the outlet, Whitehead applied for a business loan and allegedly provided a

“bank account that did not in fact exist.”

The documents made it seem that his company, Anointing Management Services LLC, had over $2 million in assets, however,

“during that time period [the business] had an average ending balance of less than ten dollars.”

Reports reveal that although Whitehead did not receive the loan in 2018, he applied again in 2019 with

    “forged documents”

to receive a $1.3 million mortgage on his home in Paramus, New Jersey.

“We are going to be fighting those allegations. Lamor Whitehead will be pleading not guilty when he is arraigned on the … indictment and denies those charges,”

Whitehead’s attorney Dawn Florio told the outlet.

Back in December, Whitehead was arrested by federal agents for allegedly stealing $90,000 from one of his church members’ retirement fund, and spending it on luxury items. He was later freed on a $500,000 bond. In 2006, the pastor was also convicted of identity theft after using victims’ personal information to purchase cars and motorcycles.

18 Children Injured After Battery Starts Fire At NYC In-Home Daycare Center

On Wednesday, January 25th, The New York City Fire Department received a call about a “heavy fire” at a residence. A lithium-ion battery caused the basement of the home, where a daycare center and a dentistry business operated, to go up in flames.

According to NBC News, 18 pediatric patients were removed from the building. One of the children transported to a nearby hospital remains in critical condition. Forty minutes after their arrival, the fire department was able to contain the flames.

The NYC Department of Buildings later sent two inspectors to the home to perform an inspection. The department then issued violation notices for construction work done in the cellar without legal work permits. The department said the cellar was intended for “accessory storage,” not to operate the two businesses, NBC reported.

John M. Esposito, the NYCFD chief of fire operations, has since released a warning about the dangers of charging lithium-ion batteries in homes.

“The lithium-ion batteries, we’ve been having problems with them the last few years in scooters and bikes, and charging them,” he said. “They should not be charged in the entranceway or pathway to leave your house or apartment. You should not charge them overnight. Charge them in a room with a closed door while you’re awake and alert.”

  • NYPD Officers Allegedly Caught Having Sex In Car Outside Of Precinct After Residents Heard Screaming, Reports Say

NYPD Officers Allegedly Caught Having Sex In Car Outside Of Precinct After Residents Heard Screaming, Reports Say

It looks like two New York City police officers were allegedly discovered having sex in a vehicle that was parked outside of a precinct in Brooklyn after neighbors heard a woman that was screaming, reports Fox.

According to the New York Post, the NYPD off-duty officers were discovered naked in the vehicle after a unidentified caller heard

    “hot and heavy”

noises and contacted officials. The encounter reportedly happened at 1:30 a.m. in a parking lot where officials park their own vehicles outside of the 79th Precinct. According to a source, the reports say that the worried caller heard

“a woman screaming in a parking lot.”

    However, the caller didn’t know

    “which color vehicle”

the cries came from. Two officials left the precinct to see what the issue was and they discovered a female and male officer in the car.

The male and female officers were reportedly partners as the two allegedly had an ongoing affair that the precinct learned about after the male cop’s wife learned about it and caused chaos at the precinct this past summer.

An unidentified source informed The Post,

“She showed up to the precinct to confront the girlfriend. Shortly after in the rear of the precinct, with bosses and cops present, the two cops got into a huge altercation because of the wife. Nothing was done.. Then someone had the bright idea to have them partnered up, riding in the same sector.”

It’s unclear if the male and female cop were disciplined as they have previously denied engaging in intimacy. The Post was told by the source that officers who found the partners in the vehicle failed to turn their body cameras on or report their discovery, which is a requirement under the department’s protocols.
