Former Georgia Police Arrested For Allegedly Concealing Missing 16-Year-Old Girl’s Death

Former Georgia police, Miles Bryant was arrested for allegedly concealing the death of 16-year-old Susana Morales who went missing in July, and making a false police report. The 22-year-old is accused of raping and murdering the teen, then dumping her naked body in the woods, police say per the New York Post

After a six-month-long search into the disappearance of Susana Morales, Gwinnett County Medical Examiners identified the body of the young girl last week. The family of Morales reported her missing on July 26th. The teen was reportedly in contact with her mother the night she went missing. According to detectives, Morales texted her mother at 9:40 p.m. telling her she was on the way to their residence on Windscape Village Lane in Norcross, however, she never made it home. Detectives say, her phone was shut off at around 10:26 p.m. that night.

In a warrant application obtained by KKTV, Bryant lived near Morales’s last known location. On Feb. 6 police responded to a call of skeletal remains found in the forest of Drowning Creek and Barrow County. The Gwinnett County Medical Examiners determined that the DNA matched Morales’ dental records.

Bryant, who had worked for the Doraville Police Department, was placed in Gwinnett Detention Center without bond. He is expected to make his first court appearance Tuesday morning, reports note.
