    Teen Driver Arrested After Purposely Striking Retired Police Chief Riding Bicycle, Captured On Video Saying ‘Hit His A–‘

    Video footage has emerged showing the deliberate killing of a retired California police chief while he was riding his bike in Las Vegas. The disturbing video obtained by the NY Post captures a teenage driver, accompanied by a friend, intentionally hitting the cyclist as they laughed. One of them can be heard saying,

    “Yeah, hit his a-s.” 

    The victim, identified as Andreas Probst, 64, was tragically killed during his routine morning bike ride at around 6 a.m. on August 14, as confirmed by Las Vegas police. According to The Las Vegas Review-Journal, authorities have arrested the 17-year-old driver of the Hyundai involved in the incident. The driver, who has not been named, has been charged with murder. 

    The arrest came after law enforcement discovered a video circulating on social media that captured the teen intentionally striking the victim. The horrifying video had gone viral, showing the driver jokingly asking his friends if they were

    “ready,”

    while the passenger filmed the incident and laughed. Encouraging the driver, the passenger says,

    “Yeah, hit his a-s,”

    just before the vehicle collides with the older man.

    The unsettling video begins with the passengers hurling profanities at passing cars while driving recklessly along North Tenaya Way, near West Centennial Parkway. The driver then veers into the bike lane behind Probst, honks the horn, and purposefully crashes into the back tire, causing him to fly into the air. Throughout the incident, the passenger continues to film, capturing the sight of the injured man lying defenseless on the roadside.

    “Damn that n—a got knocked out!”

    the passenger says as the driver speeds off from the scene. Probst was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, as reported by the Review-Journal. It is unclear whether the passenger who recorded the incident was charged. 

    According to reports, the ex-police chief of Bell, California, relocated to Las Vegas after retiring in 2009. Probst dedicated 35 years to a career in law enforcement, as reported by KLAS.

    “He was honestly like a ray of sunshine,”

    Taylor Probst said at a memorial service held for her father.

    Denver Homeless Camp Features Pop-Up Bar With Rental Prostitution Tents

    According to Denver police, a decked-out open-air tavern for the homeless that also rents out tents for prostitution has popped up in the downtown area. It features lounge chairs, umbrellas and Astroturf — has taken over the sidewalk at 23rd and Champa streets, which the city’s growing homeless population has turned into an encampment.

    One of the tents appeared to have been transformed into a speakeasy, complete with numerous couches, rugs and tables.

    The spot was littered with dozens of liquor bottles — all of which were empty and displayed proudly on thrifted dressers and bookcases when police rolled through earlier this week.

    City officials have received “numerous complaints” about the encampment, blocking the sidewalk, forcing pedestrians to walk in the street to pass the block. As of now police are investigating the situation, they say a report on street mortality showed that in 2022, drugs and alcohol were the cause of 60% of homeless deaths. They say because of this, they want to hone in on the situation and resolve it.

    Indiana Police Officer Slapped With $35 Fine After Fatally Striking Pedestrian In Fifth On-Duty Collision, Victims Family Outraged

    An Indiana police officer has received a $35 ticket after his police car struck and killed a local attorney, according to Insider. Fort Wayne Police Sergeant Joshua Hartup collided with Henry Najdeski at the intersection of Calhoun Street and Main Street on April 19, resulting in Najdeski’s passing three days later. 

    This incident marks the fifth on-duty crash in Hartup’s career. The Journal Gazette reported that Hannah Reid, Najdeski’s niece, expressed her dissatisfaction in a TikTok video, stating that she has paid higher fines for parking violations in the area compared to the penalty imposed on Hartup for her uncle’s tragic death.

    “This man didn’t even lose his license,”

    Reid says in the video.

    “He gets to just go back out into the world and do this to some other family. He hasn’t even apologized… How does my family seek justice from this?”

    Reid added.

    “How does anything get better? This system is so fucking broken, and I’m tired of it.”

    On August 8, Allen County Prosecutor Mike McAlexander announced that no criminal liability was found on Hartup’s part in relation to Najdseki’s death. Toxicology reports showed no drugs in Hartup’s system, and security footage confirmed he was not speeding when the accident occurred. Criminal charges were not pursued due to Indiana’s lack of a negligent homicide law. Instead, a civil infraction was filed against Hartup for failure to yield to a pedestrian.

    The vehicle Hartup was driving had no police equipment or in-car camera at the time of the incident, as reported by the Journal Gazette. It is unclear if Hartup has faced any disciplinary action for the crash. Insider contacted the Fort Wayne Police Department for comment, but no response has been received.

    Australian Police Officers Accused of Falsely Claiming Non-Binary Identity For Increased Clothing Allowance

    Australian police officers are being accused of pretending to be non-binary to receive a higher clothing allowance, per The Post. 

    The Herald Sun reports that the Victoria Police has interviewed at least 17 officers as part of their investigation into this scheme. Female officers in Victoria receive a $1,300 higher clothing allowance than male officers. 

    Investigators suspect that male officers are exploiting a loophole by identifying as non-binary or gender neutral to receive the same stipend. The investigation aims to uncover the truth and take appropriate action if wrongdoing is found.

    “Conduct of this sort, if validated, is not acceptable and falls far short of the standards I expect from Victoria Police members and the standards of behavior outlined in our code of conduct and Victoria Police values,”

    Chief Commissioner Shane Patton wrote to Victoria Police employees after the allegations first broke.

    The alleged scheme to falsely identify as non-binary for a higher clothing allowance spread rapidly, with one employee per day joining the crusade. By June, over 130 employees claimed non-binary status, up from 32 the previous year. 

    A search warrant was executed in July during the investigation. The department introduced gender self-identification three years ago to promote inclusivity, but now officials are considering requiring legal declarations to prevent further abuse. The number of officers involved and potential consequences remain uncertain.

     In a shocking incident in Middletown, Connecticut, a female police officer named Karli Travis found herself fighting for her life on August 12 when she was attacked by a man wielding a hammer. The attacker, who has since been identified as Winston Tate, apparently has a history of violence and had previously targeted other police officers in separate incidents.

    When Travis responded to a noise complaint call in Middletown, she had no idea that she would face such a life-threatening situation. Upon her arrival, she was confronted by Winston Tate, a 52-year-old man armed with a hammer. Without any warning, Tate charged at Travis, striking her with the weapon and knocking her to the ground. To make matters worse, he then climbed on top of her and continued his brutal assault. In the midst of this violent struggle, Detective Travis made a split-second decision to fire her weapon in self-defense.

    Although Tate was not seriously harmed by the shots, Travis’s actions allowed her to retreat to safety while he returned to his home. She was eventually able to apprehend him and bring him into custody once additional backup arrived. As a result of this horrifying incident, a judge has set Tate’s bond at $500,000 and charged him with multiple offenses.

    According to Africa News, At least 18 people have drowned in western Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) after a riverboat carrying more than 300 passengers split in two, a local police official said on Tuesday.

    Most of those on the boat were local officials, according to Martin Nakweti, acting police chief in Oshwe territory of Mai-Ndombe province, where the incident occurred. Police and divers searched the Lukenie River for the missing passengers, while authorities awaited more information to help them assess the causes of the boat’s failure.

    Residents of Congo’s riverside communities use wooden ferries called

    “balanieres”

    To get from their homes to their workplaces in areas where there are often no roads. Shipwrecks are also common in remote parts of the country, notably in Mai-Ndombe, a province full of lakes and rivers located 400 km east of the capital Kinshasa.

    According to the local assembly, David Bisaka, a local official, drowned in April after his boat sank on the Mfimi River in the same province.

    According to Bovic Ngampenga, president of a civil society organization in Oshwe, the ferry that sank on Tuesday was overloaded, in poor condition, and

    “should no longer be in service”.

    According To Tribune, On Tuesday afternoon, an unidentified man reportedly jumped into the lagoon via the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and no substantial details are available at the moment. However, the police have been informed and are investigating the matter. Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, revealed that marine policemen and other emergency responders have been dispatched to the scene.

    Hundeyin stated,

    “We only got a report that somebody jumped into the lagoon. There is no eyewitness. No CCTV footage”.

    He further added our marine police and others are there now to see if he can be rescued.

    According to Vanguard,  Calamity struck in laoso camp, Ondo town, Ondo state, as son of a traditionalist, identified as Tunde Akinmoyewa, was shot dead by his friend, Bode, while testing the potency of a bulletproof charm placed on him. The friends were trying to fortify themselves ahead of the yearly Ogun festival in the town.

    Police in the state said that the deceased was an ex-convict and cult member while the suspected killer is also a cultist. An eyewitness said:

    “It was unbelievable because such charms never failed before. But this very day, this particular one failed and caused the death of the 27 years old son of a traditionalist in the camp“

    He was confirmed dead at the hospital he was rushed to by others who were at the scene. The friend fled after the incident, before the villagers arrived at the scene. The police imagemaker added that Tunde’s remains had been deposited at the morgue while efforts were in top gear to arrest the fleeing suspect.

    The Daily Post Reports, A middle aged man and his teenage son have been apprehended by the Osun State Police Command for allegedly kidnapping members of a church during a vigil in Osun State.
    According to information made available by the Police Commissioner, Patrick Kehinde Longe, the man, Adamu Saliu and his 15-year-old son abducted the church worshippers at Osun area of the State.

    Parading the duo and 14 other suspects arrested on Tuesday in Osogbo, the Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola said the suspected kidnappers were apprehended after they attacked a Pentecostal church where worshipers were holding a vigil.

    “The hoodlums, whose numbers could not be ascertained, stormed the church and shot sporadically to scare the worshippers away”.

    The suspected kidnappers abducted some members of the church and allegedly sexually assaulted female members of the church in the process.


    “The police on receiving information moved to the scene and combed the bushes leading to the arrest of three suspects, including a father and son,”

    Opalola also appealed to church worshipers to be weary of attending vigils in remote areas to prevent ugly occurrences such as this.
    She added that all the suspects would be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.

    Recounting her ordeal, one of the victims, Esther Ayodeji said the hoodlums invaded the church during their vigil at Messiah parish, Odu, Osun State.


    “The marauders came at midnight; their mission was not to steal but abduction. All our mobile phones and other personal effects were not stolen,”

    She disclosed.
    Saliu, who claims he is a farmer and an Imam in Ilesa, however, denied any involvement in kidnapping.

    According to Daily Post, Jigawa State Police Command has arrested five suspected rapists, including one HIV patient who allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl in Jigawa State.

    Police spokesman DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to DAILY POST, said the suspects were arrested on Friday at Yola Quaters, Jahun Local Government Area, after the victim’s father reported to the police that his 14-year-old daughter was raped while selling Awara.

    Shiisu said, according to the investigation, one of the suspects, Aliyu Sani, lured the victim into the room of Rabiu Ibrahim, and they both had carnal knowledge of her.

    He added that other suspects, Idris Haruna, Rabiu Inuwa, and Hussaini Mato, all of Jahun town, also engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim several times at different dates, places, and times.
    The police spokesman said the suspects and the victim were taken to the Sexual Assault Referral Centre Dutse (SARC Dutse) for medical examination, where one of the suspects was confirmed HIV positive, and another tested positive for hepatitis.

    He said the victim was, so far, negative but will be tested three months later after the incubation period of the disease to ascertain her health condition.
    The suspects will be arraigned in court for possible prosecution, he stated.
