    Teyana Taylor Asks Judge To Dismiss Iman Shumpert’s Petition

    Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s drama continues well after their divorce. Shumpert recently filed a petition accusing Taylor of misconduct and asked that she be held in contempt of court. However, Taylor has pushed back against the petition. She said her ex-husband lied and requested the court to dismiss his petition. This move comes almost a year after the former couple finalized their divorce and moved on.

    Teyana Taylor Responds To Iman Shumpert’s Petition

    Taylor is not having any of Iman Shumpert’s response to their divorce and has asked the court for support. The actress responded to her ex-husband’s petition, which he recently filed, accusing her of misconduct. She officially responded on May 14, denying the former NBA player’s allegations in court documents In Touch obtained. Taylor refuted Shumpert’s claims that she violated the terms of their divorce agreement, delivered in a sealed judgment.

    She also denied the allegations that she removed their children from school without good reason or interfered with his parenting time. She”categorically denied causing any loss of income or damage to [Shumpert’s] professional reputation.” Teyana Taylor said Iman Shumpert’s claims were unfounded and asked the court to dismiss his petition. She pleaded that she not be held in contempt. The singer also insisted that she has only acted within her legal rights as a co-parent and public figure.

    Iman Shumpert Files Case Against Teyana Taylor

    Taylor and Shumpert resumed their legal battle earlier this month. Shumpert threw the first stone when he filed a motion claiming Taylor violated the terms of their divorce agreement. He asked that she be held in contempt of court, alleging that Taylor “willfully and contemptuously” exposed private details of their divorce.

    In the petition, he claimed Taylor “willfully and contemptuously exposed and broadcast specific provisions of the final judgment decree of divorce and related provisions, recklessly disregarding the financial circumstances, privacy, safety, and security of the parties and their minor children.”

    He asked the court to consider criminal contempt charges against his ex-wife. This puts Taylor at risk of 20 days in jail. Iman Shumpert also had more accusations against Teyana Taylor as he added racist bias and conduct in his motion. The former Knicks player alleged that the actress “shouted crude and inflammatory racial insults at [Iman]” in the presence of their kids. He claimed this caused them “stress” and placed them in the “self-imposed position of peacemaker between the parents.”

    Teyana Taylor And Iman Shumpert’s Relationship And Divorce

    Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert first met at a party in 2011 but remained friends until 2013. Shumpert popped the question at their baby shower two years later in Cleveland, Ohio. The former couple said their vows a year later and share two daughters, Junie and Rue Rose. Teyana Taylor filed for divorce in January 2023, but only announced her and Iman Shumpert’s separation in September. The actress and her ex finalized their divorce in 2024.

    The next hearing for Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s case has not been scheduled. It remains for the court to decide whether Taylor will be found in contempt of court.

The fashion diva dispelled claims that she was a gold digger and disclosed how Shumpert walked away with a car she bought. Taylor also accused her ex-husband of leaking sealed court documents while pretending he knew nothing about it.

    Teyana Taylor Breaks Down Her And Iman Shumpert’s Assets Division

    Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert divorced in 2024, but the drama from their break-up still lingers. Taylor recently went online to address the rumors about their divorce settlement and the claims about her being a gold digger. Rumors about her receiving a huge payout and most of the assets gained ground early this year. Taylor revealed that the court divided the assets between her and Shumpert and claimed the division was fair. She said, “I walked away with all my properties, and Iman walked away with a car I bought him.”

    According to the actress, she received four properties worth over $10 million, including two she purchased independently. She also retained ownership of her businesses and the luxury vehicles– a $300,000 Maybach, a $70,000 Mercedes Sprinter, and a tour bus she purchased herself. Taylor revealed that she bought the Maybach after Shumpert crashed her Rolls Royce and didn’t replace it.  Meanwhile, Shumpert got to keep all the properties and assets he had acquired during their marriage.

    He also got a Miami condominium, which he had initially gifted her. She reminded netizens that she had been working since she was 15 and made more money than her ex at the time of their divorce. This was in addition to Shumpert and his lawyer admitting she earned more publicly. The multi-hyphenate listed her jobs–she’s an actress, dancer, model, singer, and choreographer. She also runs a fitness brand and choreography center and collaborates with Jordan Shoes.

    Teyana Taylor Denies Trying To Get Iman Shumpert Arrested

    Teyana Taylor had accused Iman Shumpert of leaking classified documents about their divorce. She claimed that the leak happened after her outing with actorAaron Pierre at Vanity Fair’s 2025 Oscars after-party. According to E! News, she filed a motion in Georgia asking the court to hold Shumpert in contempt. In the March 18 filing, Taylor asked the court to fine the NBA star the maximum fine of $1,000 and send him to jail for 20 days.

    The motion also included Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s alleged conversation about the leak. In it, the dancer claimed that her attorney contacted Shumpert’s lawyer to ask him “to stop or curtail the public dissemination of information.” However, Shumpert reportedly feigned ignorance of the leak. Meanwhile, during her social media disclosure, Taylor said she never tried to get her ex-husband arrested. She claimed the rumors about that were all lies.

    Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s divorce settlement rumors and backlash highlight many people’s mixed feelings about asset division. Hopefully, the rumors will die down now that Taylor has clarified that she and the NBA star walked away with their individually owned assets.

    Rumors of Iman Shumpert and Amber Rose dating are coming amid his ongoing divorce from singer Teyana Taylor. Shumpert and Taylor began dating in 2013 after starting as platonic friends two years earlier. In 2015, Shumpert asked Taylor to marry him during their baby shower. They married in 2016 and share two daughters, Junie and Rue Rose.

    Things looked to be going well for the couple. Hence, it was shocking when they announced their separation on Sept. 17, 2023. Taylor made a post on Instagram revealing they had been separated for a while and that their split was due to infidelity. However, she added that they remained best friends and business partners and would co-parent their kids effectively.

    In November 2023, reports revealed that Taylor filed for divorce from Shumpert in January 2023, about nine months before announcing their split. The former lovebirds’ divorce is yet to be finalized. However, they seem to be on good terms as Shumpert complimented his estranged wife’s Met Gala look with a cheeky post on X.

    Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s marriage was an enviable one, but it seems they have hit the rocks. The singer intended it to be under the radar but reports claim her divorce move has been on for a year.

    Teyana Taylor Says Iman Shumpert Is Jealous, and He Abused Her Emotionally

    Despite the secrecy, TMZ had a look at Teyana Taylor’s legal papers filed against Iman Shumpert, which were dated back to January. This was eight months before they announced their separation in September.

    She wanted it to be away from the eagle-eyed media by using their initials, but Iman did not care.
    In the filing, she accused Iman of being jealous of her success story. According to her, it led him to become unsure about their marriage. She mentioned that he always acted up when paparazzi decided to snap a photo of her without him being in it.

    Shockingly, despite racking up a few millions himself in his NBA career, Iman was consumed with insecurity and doubted if he was good enough for Teyana Taylor.

    Coupled with the insecurity were cruelty, harshness, and gaslighting. This affected Teyana, who claimed she began to “intentionally dim her light,” taking up very little work and avoiding fame for her marriage to work.
