Miley Cyrus Reveals She’s Self-Conscious About Her Body Due to Past Online Bullying and Mentions She Still Wears ‘Grandma’ Swimsuits

Miley Cyrus shared that she still feels the impact of past online bullying on her self-esteem. In a recent interview on Monica Lewinsky’s podcast,

    “Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky,”

the singer discussed the body-shaming memes that circulated online during the early part of her career.

“There was a couple that were about my body in 2013, and people were putting my head on very unattractive things,”

Cyrus said to Lewinsky on the episode, dating back to her MTV VMAs performance with Robin Thicke in a flesh-colored bra and panty set.

“And I still see that when I put on a bathing suit to this day,”

    the former Disney star,

    “Hannah Montana”

    added.

“I wear very … you would never think … very modest bathing suits.”

The now 32-year-old, reflected on a recent getaway with her friends and sister, presumably referring to her older sibling Brandi. “Everyone else had on a string bikini except me; I was in shorts,” she explained. “I don’t even know if people wear tankinis anymore. I was wearing like a tank top.”

“My sister goes, ‘You’re you, so this is cool. I guess this is in now. You’re making this cool. But, like, you know this is what a grandma wears to the beach.’”

The comment hit home for the

    “Wrecking Ball”

    singer.

“It just hit me, like oh, I’m still so insecure about those memes about my body.”

Man Arrested for Pulling Gun Out on Restaurant Staff Over Dispute About the Bill

A man from Daytona Beach was arrested for allegedly waving a gun inside a restaurant and pointing it at four employees during a dispute over a bill, according to Ormond Beach police and the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

Anthony Rodriguez, 25, turned himself in to authorities on Thursday, June 5. The incident occurred about a month ago. He is facing four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Records show he was released from the Volusia County Branch Jail on a $30,000 bond as of Monday, June 9.

According to Ormond Beach police, Rodriguez and three companions were dining at Fresh Guacamole Tequila & Bar Mexican Grill on 1930 West Granada Blvd. on May 6. They became displeased with the bill when it was presented, leading to an argument with the restaurant staff. To calm things down, an employee suggested that the group could leave without paying, as stated in the arrest report.

During the argument, a woman in the group began banging on the plexiglass protecting the cashier and pushed past it toward four employees, including a 16-year-old son of one of the staff. She yelled at one employee, prompting the teenager to step in to defend his father. At that moment, surveillance footage shows Rodriguez pulling out a silver handgun from his bag.

Rodriguez pointed the gun at the four people, and the woman then pushed him out of the restaurant. After a month-long investigation, police used photo lineups and facial recognition technology to confirm that Rodriguez was the one who brandished the gun at the employees.

A Florida man was taken into custody at a strip club after he dialed 911, claiming that an employee refused to engage in sexual activity with him, as reported by Law & Crime.

The suspect, identified as Sultan Jiza Muedh Alnofaie, 21, was at the Oz Gentlemen’s Club in Clearwater just before 1 a.m. on Sunday. According to the probable cause affidavit, Alnofaie called an emergency dispatcher to report the issue with the employee. He reportedly told the police to

“come and take him to jail.”

He also informed dispatchers that the club’s security had

    “taken”

    $300 from him.

He claimed he had given that amount to an employee for sex but did not receive the services he expected. According to security personnel at the club, the defendant paid for a private room and requested sex from a staff member.

“When denied said acts, the defendant called 911 for assistance,”

    the affidavit said.

Alnofaie attempted to have the police arrest the employee who took his money, but he was the one who ended up in handcuffs. Deputies said he appeared to be intoxicated, slurring his speech and reeking of alcohol. He was taken to jail on a misdemeanor charge for misusing the 911 system and has since posted a $500 bond.

ICE Accidentally Detains Marshals Deputy Who ‘Fit the General Description’ of an Intended Person

Immigration agents temporarily detained a deputy from the U.S. Marshals Service last month as he was entering a federal building that contains the immigration court in Tucson, Arizona, according to Huff Post.

The Marshals Service confirmed to the Arizona Daily Star on Thursday that a deputy

“who fit the general description of a subject being sought by ICE was briefly detained at a federal building in Tucson after entering the lobby of the building.”

The Marshals Service is responsible for enforcing the law in federal courts, safeguarding judges, and apprehending fugitives, reports note.

“The Deputy US Marshal’s identity was quickly confirmed by other law enforcement officers, and he exited the building without incident,”

the Marshals Service told the Arizona Daily Star. It’s unclear what the Marshals Service meant by stating that the deputy

    “fit the general description”

of an individual being sought by ICE. However, President Donald Trump’s aggressive mass deportation policy has sparked worries about racial profiling. Legal residents and U.S. citizens, including Native Americans, have all faced stops by ICE.

Last week, Axios reported on a meeting between Trump administration officials Stephen Miller and Kristi Noem, where they aimed to arrest 3,000 people daily. Noah Schramm from the ACLU of Arizona told the Arizona Daily Star that the limited information about the deputy’s incident highlights how the Trump administration’s arrest quotas are leading to more mistakes.

“It is not surprising that there would be these cases that the wrong person is detained,”

    Schramm said.

“I think it reflects that they are trying to get numbers and that they are OK violating basic principles and basic procedures that are meant to protect people and make sure the wrong people don’t get picked up.”

Chicago Police Say Officer Was ‘Unintentionally’ Shot and Killed by Partner During Foot Pursuit

A Chicago police officer has sadly lost her life after being accidentally shot by her partner during a pursuit of a suspect, as reported by the NY Post.

Krystal Rivera, 36, a four-year veteran of the force, was

    “unintentionally”

shot shortly before 10 p.m. on Thursday. Rivera’s tactical unit attempted to stop an individual believed to be armed, leading to a chase that ended in an apartment, where they confronted another individual carrying a rifle, according to officials. Authorities later discovered three firearms at the scene, police confirmed.

The partner was the only one who discharged a firearm, and according to a statement from city police on Friday, the

    “gunfire unintentionally struck Officer Rivera.”

An autopsy confirmed that she was shot in the back. Rivera passed away at the hospital late Thursday, less than an hour after the shooting. She is survived by her 10-year-old daughter.

When her colleagues transported her to the hospital in a squad car, the vehicle crashed and caught fire due to a malfunction, as reported by Police Superintendent Larry Snelling. She was then taken to the hospital in a different squad car. Police reported that the individual accused of brandishing the rifle has been taken into custody, although they did not specify the charges that may be filed against them.

  • Duo Accused of Brutally Attacking and Robbing NYPD Rookie, Arraigned on Attempted Murder Charges

Duo Accused of Brutally Attacking and Robbing NYPD Rookie, Arraigned on Attempted Murder Charges

The violent pair accused of brutally attacking and robbing an off-duty NYPD rookie in the Bronx has been arraigned on attempted murder charges, as reported by the NY Post. Prosecutors claim they beat him so severely that they left a shoeprint on his face.

Officer Chowdhury Nafees, 27, laid in a hospital bed with a shoeprint stamped on his face after the violent assault by Wayne Lucas, 23, and Taveon Hargrove, also 23. A Senior Trial District Attorney urged that Lucas be held without bail in connection with the vicious attack that occurred on May 24 in Westchester Square.

“These two individuals attempted to rob who they thought was a civilian. But upon pushing him to the ground, they found his uniform, learning that this was not just any old person, but this turned out to be an off-duty rookie NYPD police officer on his way to protect and serve,”

said Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark.

“Upon learning that he was an officer, they took this as an invitation to turn up the violence,”

    the DA said.

Irace stated that the duo threw Nafees to the ground, with Lucas then holding a knife to the victim’s neck while his accomplice, Taveon Hargrove, went through his pockets and stole his loaded service weapon. Lucas was apprehended in Virginia last week and later extradited to New York. He pleaded not guilty as Judge George Villegas arraigned him on a 34-count indictment that includes charges of assault, robbery, grand larceny, and criminal possession of stolen property.

Villegas granted Irace’s request to keep Lucas held without bail. Hargrove, also indicted, was captured in Virginia a day earlier than Lucas but is appealing his extradition. Lucas, who was wearing a wig to hide his identity when arrested, faces the possibility of 15 years to life in prison for the brutal attack. He is scheduled to appear in court again on September 12 and has no previous arrests, according to law enforcement.
