Authorities have charged a man in connection to their disappearance, per USA Today.  Elizabeth ‘Ely’ Gonzalez was visiting her grandmother in Mexico City before she disappeared on June 30, along with her 6-year-old and 4-year-old cousins. The girls were found with their uncle. Antonio Mereno, 31, has been accused of kidnapping. Alma Soreque, the mother of Gonzalez, told ABC4 that she had spoken to her daughter on the morning she went missing. Mother Arrested After Her and Her Two Daughters Attacked Sam’s Club Employee Over Pizza, Reports Say

Employees at a Sam's Club are requesting that a security guard be present in the store at all times after some customers attacked an employee over pizza, WSBTV reported.

Employees at a Sam’s Club are requesting that a security guard be present in the store at all times after some customers attacked an employee over pizza, WSBTV reported.  Cierra Monroe, who works in the cafe at the Sam’s Club on Jonesboro Road, shared that on July 10, a mother and her two daughters arrived just two minutes before closing time and wanted to order two whole pizzas. When the workers explained that it was too late, the customers insisted on speaking to a manager.  When the manager did not arrive fast enough, Monroe said that the mother, Andreana McKnight, came around to the kitchen and punched her in the face. McKnight was arrested. Her 20-year-old pregnant daughter, Victoria Wilson, was taken to the hospital, and there is currently a warrant for her arrest.  “The mom, she gets upset and she goes from in front of the register, and she comes back into the kitchen, and when she comes into the kitchen, she swings on me,” Monroe said. “Once she swings on me, she punches me in my face and then her two daughters come from the front. I was not expecting that at all.” Monroe shared that she is still experiencing headaches and has visible injuries such as bruises, scratches, and a scar on her face. She said she didn’t understand why Sam’s Club didn’t have a security guard present that day. Especially because a few days prior, another customer had attempted to attack a different employee, she explained.  A spokesperson for Sam’s Club wouldn’t say their plans on hiring a full-time security, but he did say “their staff safety is a priority” and they’re working with Henry County police during the investigation. #Clique, what are your thoughts?

Postal Worker Tragically Loses Life After Enduring Hours In Mail Truck On 95-Degree Day

Wednesday 'Wendy' Johnson, a 51-year-old woman, passed away at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in June, reports WRAL News.

Wednesday ‘Wendy’ Johnson, a 51-year-old woman, passed away at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in June, reports WRAL News.  According to her family, her death was a result of heat-related issues. Wendy, who resided in Sanford, had been working for the U.S. Postal Service for over two decades. Her son, Deandre Johnson said Wendy was riding in the back of a postal truck on a very hot day, with temperatures reaching 95 degrees. Wendy was a supervisor and occasionally assisted with deliveries. On the day of her passing, she began experiencing complications during her shift. Postal workers later discovered Wendy unconscious in the bathroom of a post office in Fayetteville on Raeford Road.  The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is currently investigating her death as heat-related. The vehicles used by the postal service do not have air conditioning, leading some postal workers to refer to them as “easy bake ovens.” According to Johnson’s son, his mother would send text messages to family members expressing her concerns about the extreme heat inside the trucks. “She texted my aunt and said ‘yeah, I’m in the back of this truck and I’m hot,’” Deandre Johnson said. “Being in her situation, I don’t think she should have been in a truck in 95-degree weather, and in the back of that truck it was like 102.” “As soon as she got back from getting off the truck, she went to the bathroom,” said daughter Sa’ni Johnson. “And then when somebody came to the bathroom, they just found her 15 minutes later like … unresponsive.”  #Clique, what are your thoughts?

Father Who Just Won Custody Of His Toddler Arrested For Allegedly Beating Him To Death, Reports Say

A father, Daniel Hardcastle, has been found guilty of killing his two-year-old son, Damion Russell, per Mirror. Hardcastle initially claimed that Damion died after hitting his head on a coffee table, but a pathologist discovered that the injuries were not consistent with this claim.  It was later revealed that Hardcastle had assaulted his son, resulting in an adult human bite mark on his thigh, fractured ribs, and bruising on his body. The pathologist determined that Damion’s injuries were likely caused by forcefully shaking him and banging his head against a solid object, like a coffee table. The pathologist also mentioned that Hardcastle could have caused Damion’s head to forcefully hit an object, which could have resulted in injuries to his neck and eyes. After Hardcastle was found guilty of murder, a heartbreaking video was released, showcasing adorable pictures of Damion and footage of him playing in an outdoor area. Following the assault in August of last year, Damion was taken to the hospital, but his injuries were severe and ultimately fatal. He tragically passed away two days later. During the trial, the jury learned that in the weeks leading up to the attack, Hardcastle had been drinking more and had isolated himself from his support network. During the trial at Preston Crown Court, it was revealed that Hardcastle, who was the sole caregiver of his son, had spent the entire night talking to a woman he had recently met online, just two nights before the tragic incident. Hardcastle, who resided in Blackpool, Lancashire, was ultimately found guilty of murder after a four-week trial. The jury took only two hours to deliberate before reaching their verdict, reports note.  #Clique, what are your thoughts?
