10-Year-Old Boy Arrested For Allegedly Driving Stolen Car Around Playground Full Of Children, Police Say This Isn’t His First Arrest

A 10-year-old boy has been arrested for driving a stolen car near a playground in Minnesota where kids were playing, per Law & Crime. Minneapolis police shared the news of the boy’s arrest on Friday.

“The boy was booked into the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center on Thursday for probable cause 2nd degree assault,”

police said in a statement. The incident took place on Sept. 20 at Nellie Stone Johnson School in north Minneapolis. Police revealed that no one was hurt and that

“no children on the playground were struck by the driver.”

The suspect in question, whose name has not been released due to his age, has reportedly had several run-ins with the law.

“Police records indicate that the 10-year-old boy has at least 30 entries dating back to May 2023,”

    the statement said.

“He has been arrested at least twice before for auto theft related crimes.”

He is also listed as a suspect

“in more than 12 cases that range from auto theft to robbery to assault with a dangerous weapon,”

    as well as

    “runaway type cases,”

the statement says. Surveillance footage from the Minneapolis police shows the stolen car driving on the grass and sidewalk around the playground. It drove by where kids were playing on slides, benches, and climbing equipment three times. School staff can be seen trying to get the children to safety, and a young girl almost stepped into the car’s path but stopped just in time.

    The boy’s family

“is cooperative with police and have asked for help to keep their son or anyone else from being injured or killed,”

according to police chief Brian O’Hara.

“It is unfathomable that a 10-year-old boy has been involved in this level of criminal activity without effective intervention,”

    O’Hara said in the statement.

“Prison is not an acceptable option for a 10-year-old boy. But the adults who can stop this behavior going forward must act now to help this child and his family.”

‘Psychologist’ Befriends 15-Year-Old Girl, Then Forces Her Into Hotel Room Where She Was Sexually Abused

A woman named Maria Ximena Duarte, 45, who calls herself a

    “psychologist,”

befriended a 15-year-old girl and tried to get her to have sex with two adult men, reports Law & Crime. She is now in jail in Miami-Dade, Florida, facing charges of human trafficking of a child, lewd and lascivious exhibition on a child younger than 16 while the defendant is older than 18, lewd and lascivious battery, and interference with custody.

According to court documents, one of the men is accused of sexually abusing the girl, but only their first names are mentioned. They haven’t been charged yet, and Law & Crime is not revealing their names. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Documents reveal that the girl told police she met Duarte at a hotel pool area while walking her dog on Tuesday. Duarte quickly became friends with the teenager, claiming to be a psychologist, and gaining the young girl’s trust to open up to her.  Duarte then allegedly offered the girl a marijuana cigarette and some alcoholic drinks. The girl refused the alcohol but spent time in Duarte’s hotel room, going home and returning the next day.

On Wednesday, Duarte reportedly took pictures of the girl and sent them to a man, claiming that the girl was 21 and interested in having sex with him. The girl, however, rejected it, saying in the paraphrasing of the affidavit that

    “she was not like that.”

Documents state that Duarte had sex with a man in front of the girl and gave her a phone to record it. The documents also say that the defendant performed oral sex during this incident, telling the victim

    “she was teaching her.”

Duarte’s boyfriend arrived at the hotel room, and Duarte tried to leave the girl alone with him. Despite the girl’s discomfort, Duarte pushed her back inside and told her to make the man

    “feel good.”

The girl refused, but Duarte’s boyfriend grabbed her by the head and neck, leading to a sexual assault. While in the room, the girl found out that Duarte exchanged sex for drugs to support her addiction.

  • 12-Year-Old Girl Passes Away After Parents Attempt To Treat Serious Injuries With Smoothies, Police Say

12-Year-Old Girl Passes Away After Parents Attempt To Treat Serious Injuries With Smoothies, Police Say

A 12-year-old girl from Texas passed away on Monday after her mother and stepfather waited four days to get her medical attention for serious injuries, reports NBC News. Instead of taking her to a doctor, they tried to treat her with smoothies. Miranda Sipps, a cheerleader at Jourdanton Junior High School in Christine, Texas, was found in very bad condition when her mother called 911 on Monday evening, according to the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency responders met them on the highway after they left their home and quickly took the unconscious girl to the hospital.

Unfortunately, Sipps was declared dead shortly after arriving in the emergency room.

An investigation by the sheriff’s office found that Sipps had serious and life-threatening injuries the Thursday before her death.

For four days, her mother and stepfather did not seek medical help, even though she was mostly unconscious. No other children were living in the home.

“She was not talking. She basically could flutter her eyes and move her hands a little bit over a four-day period,”

Sheriff David Soward said at a news conference,

“and they had her laying on a pallet in the house.”

Soward added that the couple tried

“to give her smoothies, but somebody who is unconscious is not able to swallow.”

The mother was identified as 36-year-old Denise Balbaneda, and the stepfather, Gerald Gonzales, 40. They were both arrested on Tuesday afternoon and charged with a first-degree felony for injury to a child by omission. Investigators think the couple didn’t seek medical care to keep the police away from their home. The cause of Sipps’ injuries is still being investigated.
