  • Mother and 15-Year-Old Son Forced To Swim To Shore After Plane Landed In The Sea Following Emergency Landing

Mother and 15-Year-Old Son Forced To Swim To Shore After Plane Landed In The Sea Following Emergency Landing

A pilot and her son had to swim to shore after their light plane landed in the sea, reports the New York Post. The pilot, Michelle Yeats, was flying back to Perth, Australia, with her son, Jake, 15, when the engine shut off close to 5 p.m. Reports say the mother and her son came from

“viewing the solar eclipse in Western Australia’s north.”

The woman said the plane began acting strange, and she then ordered Jake to send a mayday and made the decision to attempt a water landing. Yeats informed ABC that she told her son,

“Mate, we’ve just had [an] engine failure, we’re going to have to land on the beach.”

“He was like ‘For real, are you for real?’ I said, ‘hopefully this is the most exciting thing that’s going to happen in your life and we’re going to be OK,’”

    she added.

The woman revealed that although she has been trained to do the landing several times, she never expected to actually do one.

“I was only at 1,500 feet, I didn’t have much time to react so I just sent out a mayday to the tower and then just turned around and landed on the water — I tried to get as close to the beach as I could without hitting anybody,”

    the commercial pilot expressed.

    She continued,

“Then Jake got the door open really quickly and we just got out as it was going down… We were just standing on the wings … I was just thinking, we’re going to have to swim.”

Luckily, bystanders on Leighton Beach swam out in an effort to get them back to shore. Officials said most of the plane was under water and only a small fraction of the aircraft was above the sea.

The mother and son received a check-up by an ambulance.

  • Transgender Sex Worker Living in Australia Infected Client with HIV, Now Fighting to Stay in the Country

Transgender Sex Worker Living in Australia Infected Client with HIV, Now Fighting to Stay in the Country

A transgender sex worker living in Australia was arrested for infecting a client with HIV. She is now fighting to re-enter the country after being deported back to her home country of New Zealand, NY Post reported.

CJ Palmer, who has been living in Australia since 2006 on a visa, reportedly worked as a sex worker in the country. According to Ms. Palmer’s legal counsel, she was diagnosed with HIV and had been taking medication since 2016. However, she failed to inform her client about her diagnosis who later found out he contracted the virus after their encounter.

In 2018, Palmer was convicted in the Western Australia District Court on one count of grievous bodily harm, reports state. She was sentenced to six years in prison which was lowered to four years on appeal, the NY Post reported. After completing her sentence Palmer was deported to New Zealand following a decision from the Minister to discontinue her visa.

Lawyers of Palmer’s from the HIV/Aids Legal Centre are now trying to overturn the decision.

“The evidence before the (immigration) minister was quite clear in my respectful submission, and it was the Ms. Palmer had consistently taken her medication since 2016,”

Mr. Kaplan said in a statement.

“The evidence established that HIV cannot be transmitted from A to B, if A has an undetectable viral load as Palmer did,”

    he continued.

According to the outlet, Palmer previously told the court that she wanted to remain in Australia to keep her

“connections to communities including people with HIV, transgender people, and sex workers.”

    The hearing has been postponed.

  • Woman Found Guilty Of Murder After Killing Her Husband By Lacing His Favorite Cookies With Sleeping Pills

Woman Found Guilty Of Murder After Killing Her Husband By Lacing His Favorite Cookies With Sleeping Pills

A stay-at-home mother was declared guilty of lacing her husband’s favorite snack with sleeping pills resulting in his death, reports the New York Post. The incident occurred in Victoria, Australia back in 2020 when Rebecca Payne laced 68-year-old Noel Payne’s favorite lemon cookies.

People close to the couple revealed that they weren’t in the happiest marriage. Noel and Rebecca met when she lived next to his daughter Tracy. Tracy revealed that she never wished for their romance to prosper. Once Noel and Victoria met, they married shortly after. Neighbors claimed the marriage was toxic as there have been allegations of Noel beating his wife. Barry, a family friend, told A Current Affair,

“I believe he used to punch her.”

Prosecutors say Rebecca wished to leave the marriage and she was angry about Noel having another woman residing in their home with them. The court learned the woman dreamed of drugging Noel for months and while she testified, she informed the jury that she thought he would just

“feel sleepy and go to bed”

    the night of the act.

The incident occurred on Sept. 1, 2020, when Rebecca baked lemon biscuits and put

‘temazepam pills with a mortar and pestle’

in them, reports The Post. She laced a cookie she set aside for him with the powder by placing it in the icing. She then gave him the cookie with a glass of Milo. Reports say he didn’t wake up after that. The woman attempted to resuscitate him after she located him unconscious. She failed to call first responders, panicked, and then wrapped his corpse in a blanket. She then tied each side with tape and dumped him into a freezer. Several days later, she hauled the freezer to a neighbor’s backyard. A resident then discovered the corpse in the freezer and Rebecca was later apprehended.

Although she confessed to the murder and was found guilty of murder, she claimed that her intentions weren’t to kill him.

  • UK Woman Kidnapped As A 4-Year-Old Is Reunited With Her Family

UK Woman Kidnapped As A 4-Year-Old Is Reunited With Her Family

In 1969, when Susan Gervaise was four years old, a couple from Scotland approached her English family with a bizarre proposition. According to Daily Mail, they offered to take the pre-schooler with them to Disney World. Her biological mother, who struggled to provide for her seven children, saw it as an opportunity for her daughter to have an exciting experience. Gervaise’s birth certificate was given to them, and she never saw her mother again.

At the time, a child could travel internationally with a birth certificate and parental permission. Her “adoptive family” then added her to their passport, and she was able to travel abroad. From the UK, they traveled to Canada and Australia, before settling in New Zealand.

“They took me to Canada then Australia and later New Zealand. This was always their plan. I lived a cherished life where I was spoiled rotten. My mum died from MS when I was 10, but even then, being raised in the hub of a travelling community I was very loved.”

Gervaise, who was born Susan Preece, had been told that she was adopted. She hadn’t learned that she had been forcibly taken from her family at 16, when her “adoptive father” confessed to his crimes. Despite knowing she had been kidnapped, she hadn’t began searching for her family until she was 56.

Now, after 53 years, Gervaise has finally been reunited with her siblings. In October of last year, for her 57th birthday, Gervaise celebrated her birthday with her remaining family in the UK. Unfortunately, her mother passed away eight years prior.
