Suspect In Custody After Body Of North Carolina College Student Discovered In Towed Vehicle Trunk

A man from Edenton, North Carolina, is facing a murder charge after allegedly killing a woman whose body was discovered in the trunk of a towed vehicle, as reported by Fox News.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI) reported that on January 17, the body of a woman was found in a vehicle belonging to Jordan Isaiah Thomas in Beaufort County. The NCSBI believes the victim to be a 19-year-old student from Elizabeth City State University, although an identification is still pending from the medical examiner’s office.

The NCSBI also stated that the cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner. According to investigators, the vehicle had been parked in a private lot on U.S. Highway 264 in Washington, North Carolina. The vehicle was towed to a local facility, where the body was discovered in the trunk by an employee of the towing company.

After conducting an investigation, detectives determined that Thomas had left his vehicle in the private lot before stealing a truck from the same location. The stolen truck was later found at a nearby hospital in Washington, North Carolina, where Thomas was arrested. The NCSBI investigators believe that the victim was killed at a different location than where the vehicle was found. The exact location of the murder is still under investigation.

It has been revealed that Thomas and the victim knew each other. Thomas is now facing charges of murder, larceny of a motor vehicle, and concealing the death of a person. The investigation is still ongoing.

  • Man Pleaded Guilty To The 2021 Murder Of His Former Girlfriend After Kidnapping and Burying Her Alive

Man Pleaded Guilty To The 2021 Murder Of His Former Girlfriend After Kidnapping and Burying Her Alive

A man, Tarikjot Singh, has pleaded guilty to murder after kidnapping his former girlfriend, Jasmeen Kaur, back in March 2021 and then burying her alive, reports The Post. On March 5, Kaur was kidnapped from her job and driven over 400 miles while tied to cable ties in a vehicle Singh borrowed from someone he knew.

Singh then gave the woman surfaced cuts to her throat and buried her in a shallow grave. The cuts to her throat weren’t deep enough to kill her and reports say she was well aware of her surroundings when she later died the next day. Carmen Matteo, the prosecutor said, the murder wasn’t

    “efficient”

    and the victim was

    “made to suffer.”

“She had to have been consciously suffering what could only be described as the absolute terror of breathing in and swallowing soil and dying in that way,”

    said Matteo.

The woman’s family was in court for the sentencing submissions. Reports added that Kaur was killed merely one month after reporting Singh to the authorities for stalking her. According to the court, Singh mapped out the murder because he wasn’t able to get over their failed relationship. The court was informed that the man wrote multiple messages to the victim before she died.

    One message said,

“Your bad luck that I am still alive, cheap, wait and watch, will get the answer, each and every single one will get the answer.”

Singh later took officers to Australia’s Flinders Ranges, where she was buried. Authorities discovered her shoes, glasses, work name badge, and cable ties.

  • Man Convicted In The 2019 Murder Of A Mail Carrier Who Failed To Deliver A Large Package Of Marijuana To His Home, Sentenced To Life

Man Convicted In The 2019 Murder Of A Mail Carrier Who Failed To Deliver A Large Package Of Marijuana To His Home, Sentenced To Life

On Thursday, a man, Trevor Raekwon Seward, has been sentenced to life behind bars after he was convicted of murdering a U.S Postal Service mail carrier who left a note in the mailbox instructing Seward to pick up a large package of marijuana at a South Carolina post office instead of delivering it to his home, FOX reports.

The 25-year-old was convicted of murdering the 64-year-old federal worker, Irene Pressley, as she delivered mail. In addition to the September 2019 murder of Pressley, Seward was also convicted of other crimes, according to federal prosecutors.

After Seward discovered the note in his mailbox instead of the package, which was supposed to be 2 pounds of marijuana, he confronted the mail carrier moments later and requested his package. According to court documents, Pressley declined his request. The 25-year-old then got a rifle and as Pressley went down the street, he shot the gun 20 times into the rear of her mail truck resulting in multiple bullets hitting her.

Seward later drove the truck into a trench, looked through the mail in an attempt to find his marijuana or anything else valuable, and then fled, leaving Pressey’s body in the truck, per prosecutors. Court Records added that the marijuana package was later discovered on the street where the mail carrier was murdered.

The mail carrier’s sister blamed the death of her father on Seward in court. According to WPDE-TV, Elisha Hubbard said during the sentencing hearing on Thursday,

“He gave up because you took his daughter’s life.”

A co-defendant, 31-year-old, Jerome Terrell Davis, who assisted Seward in looking for the U.S Postal Service mail carrier was sentenced to 25 years behind bars. Davis pleaded guilty to

“robbery and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute marijuana,”

    according to prosecutors, reports FOX.

  • Parents Arrested and Charged After Their 8-Month-Old Child Died From Fentanyl Exsposure, Officials Say

Parents Arrested and Charged After Their 8-Month-Old Child Died From Fentanyl Exsposure, Officials Say

A mother and father, Jeffrey Terakami, 36, and Kara Marie Dugan, 31, have been apprehended in connection to the death of their 8-month-old child after an autopsy report discovered that the child was exposed to fentanyl, officials say, according to FOX

Nevada officials responded to the residence on Nov. 15, 2022, after they received a call about an unresponsive child. Once authorities arrived, they began conducting methods to help save the child. The unidentified infant was then transported to a Henderson, Nevada hospital and sadly, declared deceased. An autopsy by the Clark County Coroner’s Office was performed which revealed that the cause of death was

    “a result of fentanyl toxicity,”

according to FOX. Reports say the child was also exposed to methamphetamine.

The parents were interviewed and they both admitted that the infant was exposed to methamphetamine and fentanyl after the father had a bag filled with both drugs on the bed, which spilled. The parents confessed that the infant was later allowed to crawl on the

“bed where the drugs were spilled.”

They were both charged with second-degree murder.
