Florida Man Banned From Disney World After Reportedly Attempting To Sneak Cocaine Into Park

44-year-old Dustin Lee Wallace of Florida was prohibited from Disney World for attempting to bring a wallet filled with cocaine into the park. He was apprehended on March 29 for cocaine possession. He pleaded not guilty to the charges during a court appearance on April 2, according to records, per PEOPLE

On March 29 at about 5:20 p.m., Wallace and his son were at the theme park’s bus loop when they went through a security checkpoint. A metal detector alerted on Wallace’s back pocket. When asked to empty his pockets, he seemed anxious, and security located a bag of white powder in his wallet.

Disney security asked Wallace to leave the park and told him not to return to any Disney locations. After a field test discovered cocaine, they contacted the sheriff’s office. When officials arrived, the man confessed to using cocaine for a month due to work stress and said that he tried to bring it into the park.

Wallace was apprehended and transported to a local jail. His bond was set at $2,500, according to court records. The case is still ongoing.

The suspect, 28, who had been previously charged in a multi-state car theft ring, drew attention around 8 p.m. when officers noticed the car, which had stolen license plates. • Hawaiian Airlines Flight Forced To Land After Passenger’s Phone Got Stuck In Seat Causing An ‘Electrical Smell’

Hawaiian Airlines Flight Forced To Land After Passenger’s Phone Got Stuck In Seat Causing An ‘Electrical Smell’

A Hawaiian Airlines Flight 457 was flying from Honolulu to Tokyo on Monday when a passenger’s device got stuck in a seat. Flight attendants noticed an “electrical smell” in the cabin, which an airline spokesperson revealed came from the mobile device that was “lodged in the seat,” according to Business Insider

The pilots announced an emergency to get priority landing at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, done “out of an abundance of caution,” a spokesperson said. After all passengers safely exited the plane, the airline team removed the device from the seat. They apologized to those affected and stressed that safety is a priority.

Airlines are very concerned about trapped devices because lithium batteries can catch fire and create a dangerous situation. To avoid issues, airlines advise passengers to keep their devices in the cabin instead of the hold, so any issues can be rectified quickly.

  • 4 People Including Teacher and School Director Charged After Allegedly Running A ‘Makeshift Child Fight Club’

4 People Including Teacher and School Director Charged After Allegedly Running A ‘Makeshift Child Fight Club’

Four Arkansas educators were apprehended for reportedly running a “child fight club,” per PEOPLE

David Boling, the Craighead County District Judge, determined there was enough evidence to charge Mary Tracy Morrison, Michael Bean, Kristin Bell, and Kathrine Lipscomb with allowing child abuse following a court hearing on April 21. Prosecuting attorney Sonia Hagood stated she filed the charges after a video from The Delta Institute emerged online.

In the video, a teacher tells a student to attack another child “in the private area,” according to Hagood. The prosecutor described Morrison as the supposed “ringleader of this makeshift child fight club” and requested that her bail be set at $250,000 during the court proceedings.

All four turned themselves in after discovering the arrest warrants in April, per The Jonesboro Sun. The report identified 50-year-old Morrison as the school owner, and 45-year-old Lipscomb, as a teacher. 38-year-old Bean and 36-year-old Bell are parents of students. Hagood requested Lipscomb’s bail be set at $100,000, while also expressing her outrage about the incident.

Craighead County jail records indicate that the judge set Lipscomb’s bail at $100,000, while Bell and Bean were held on $10,000 bail. The lawyers for all four defendants had not seen the video before the April 21 hearing. They were released shortly after being booked and will appear in court on May 22. Hagood requested that all case filings be sealed for 90 days amid her investigation.

  • Teen Has Been Convicted After Fatally Shooting 11-Year-Old Who Was Standing Outside Nail Salon

Teen Has Been Convicted After Fatally Shooting 11-Year-Old Who Was Standing Outside Nail Salon

A teenager from New York City was sentenced to 10 years to life behind bars on Wednesday. He pleaded guilty to shooting an 11-year-old girl in the stomach during a gang-related Bronx shootout, according to PEOPLE

Matthew Godwin, now 18, was sentenced for second-degree murder for the death of 11-year-old Kyhara Tay. According to Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark, a police investigation revealed that on May 16, 2022, Godwin and 21-year-old Omar Bojang were riding an electric scooter while searching for a rival gang member.

Bojang drove the scooter onto the sidewalk and saw their 13-year-old target. Godwin fired two shots from the scooter, hitting Tay, who was waiting outside a nail salon for some friends. Sadly, she passed away later that night in the hospital. Bojang pleaded guilty to manslaughter and faces 15 years in prison.

“Kyhara never had the chance to grow up. She was an innocent 11-year-old girl who was killed when the defendant, 15 years old at the time, started shooting at a 13-year-old boy… Her death is a profound tragedy, especially considering the ages of everyone involved,” said the Bronx District Attorney.

Over two years after Tay’s death, her mother said the family’s pain from her absence has caused anger, sleepless nights, and depression, per amNewYork.

The young victim’s mother said in court, “You denied her the opportunity to graduate, to fall in love, to live life – they took away all her dreams.”

  • Mother Charged In 14-Year-Old Cold Case Of Infant Discovered Dead In Mississippi River

Mother Charged In 14-Year-Old Cold Case Of Infant Discovered Dead In Mississippi River

43-year-old Jennifer Nichole Baechle  has been charged in a cold case involving an infant found dead in the Mississippi River 14 years ago. DNA testing identified Baechle as the mother. She’s currently facing two counts of second-degree manslaughter for the baby, known as Baby Angel, discovered on Sept. 5, 2011.

According to the New York Post, the baby was discovered covered in a green T-shirt and sealed in two plastic bags, placed inside a tote from a Mexican resort in a region of the river.

Ron Ganrude, the Winona County Sheriff, “While her birth mother remained hidden, this community wrapped its arms around this little girl.”

“Ever since, they’ve waited in patience for answers that she deserved. We never gave up working to find those answers,” the sheriff added.

He continued, “She deserved better than a watery grave, she deserved more than a life cut short.”

The autopsy from 2011 showed that Baby Angel was born a mere day or two before her death. It revealed a 4-inch cord still attached to her, which seemed not to have been cut by a medical professional. The baby also had multiple skull fractures, according to the report.

Several agencies looked into the baby’s death, but progress was slow until 2023 when Firebird Forensics Group linked Baechle to the case. Baechle declined to provide a DNA sample, but officials collected a used feminine hygiene product from her trash. A year later, DNA testing confirmed the match.

Baechle’s family reported they had no contact with her in 2011, stating she was residing in a van. However, they did mention that she collected angel figurines and the pendant that was found with the baby. If convicted, she could face four years behind bars, officials say.
