A serial rapist was found guilty of kidnapping a woman, transporting her 450 miles across state lines, and holding her captive in a soundproof cinderblock cell at his home as part of a disturbing plot he referred to as “Operation Take Over.”
Negasi Zuberi, 29, was convicted after authorities uncovered his chilling plan to kidnap multiple women, sexually assault them, and hold them captive in a dungeon-like structure in his Oregon home, Law & Crime reports.
The FBI became involved after one of his victims managed to escape the makeshift cell, bringing to light the horrific details of her captivity.
The ordeal began when Zuberi kidnapped the woman under false pretenses, claiming to be a law enforcement officer. He then drove her over 450 miles from Seattle to Klamath Falls, Oregon. Once there, she was locked in a cinderblock cell that had been meticulously constructed in his garage, complete with reinforced walls and a metal door.
According to the prosecution, Zuberi referred to his criminal scheme as “Operation Take Over,” a plan where he intended to imprison women, impregnate them, and raise children as part of his delusional ideology.
Zuberi was charged with sexual assault and interstate kidnapping after the woman managed to break free from the cell, run and flag down a car.
