Teachers Suspended After Texas Middle School Students Shared Needles for Mass Tattoo Sessions in Classroom

Parents are furious after their children took part in a mass tattooing session at a Texas middle school, where they circulated needles among multiple classrooms, all while their unaware teachers continued with their lessons, as reported by the NY Post

On Tuesday, the students allegedly used temporary ink to tattoo each other with the shared needle, leading officials to worry that they might have also exposed themselves to potential infections. “How is it that these kids are getting tattoos in class and not one teacher noticed it?” mother Ashley Armstrong told Fox 4 News.

Armstrong’s 11-year-old son, Jordan, used a contaminated needle to write “I heart my lord” across his forearm and “JC” on his hands. The incident happened on Tuesday while in his classroom at Travis Intermediate in Greenville, about 50 miles northeast of Dallas. Jordan noted that a boy approached him with the offer to tattoo him. That needle was “shared several times from one class to another class to another class,” Armstrong told the outlet.

The school nurse called Armstrong to inform her of the troubling incident and advised her to get blood tests done right away. Thankfully, the results came back negative for any diseases. Armstrong reprimanded Jordan, reminding him that “he knows better,” but she expressed concern over how the teachers allowed this underage tattooing to escalate.

On Thursday, Greenville ISD addressed parent’s concerns, announcing that several teachers from the classrooms involved have been suspended while an investigation is ongoing. “Greenville ISD is aware of an incident at Travis Intermediate School where students gave each other tattoos using temporary ink and the same needle,” the district said in a statement.

  • Teacher Sues School Board After She Was Fired For Allegedly Misusing Sick Leave To Take Her Son To A Concert

Teacher Sues School Board After She Was Fired For Allegedly Misusing Sick Leave To Take Her Son To A Concert

An Ohio teacher was fired for taking a two-day sick leave to reportedly attend a concert in Nashville, per Law & Crime. Now she is suing her former school district, which accused her of

    “falsified sick leave.”

She argues that her firing infringed upon her

    “constitutional rights.”

Eileen Washburn, who taught English at Lakota West High School within the Lakota Local School District, filed a wrongful termination lawsuit in Butler County late last month against the district’s board of education. In a response to the lawsuit filed on December 24, the board denied all allegations of misconduct.

Washburn’s lawsuit states that the school district accused her of falsifying her sick leave on February 8 and 9. She reportedly told several colleagues about her plans to attend a concert in Tennessee with her son and a friend, with one colleague mentioning that Washburn

    “didn’t want to waste $600”

    she had spent on tickets.

In her defense, Washburn claims she provided the school board with a letter from her primary care physician, which explained that she needed to take time off due to side effects from a medication she had recently resumed.

“In response … the Executive Director of Human Resources Rob Kramer, asked for additional details regarding her medical condition and the prescriptions she was taking,”

    Washburn’s complaint says.

“Ms. Washburn was reluctant to answer his questions because she believed her medical condition was a personal matter which she was not required to share with her employer,”

    the complaint added.

“The Board terminated Ms. Washburn’s teaching contract by resolution on October 28, 2024,”

Washburn’s complaint states. She is seeking to have her job reinstated and is requesting compensation for

    “all of her losses…”

her complaint says, along with coverage for attorney’s fees.

  • Middle School Students Created Fake TikTok Accounts To Impersonate Teachers and Make Disturbing Jokes About Them Being Pedophiles

Middle School Students Created Fake TikTok Accounts To Impersonate Teachers and Make Disturbing Jokes About Them Being Pedophiles

Students at a Pennsylvania middle school created around 22 TikTok accounts pretending to be their teachers and falsely accusing them of being pedophiles, per the NY Post. Some posts included pictures of the teachers loved followed by offensive jokes.

Even though the school administrators tried to stop the spread of these fake TikToks, some of the accounts are protected by the First Amendment, making it difficult to take them down. Police have been called to investigate however, some eighth-graders have continued to create and utilize these accounts. One posting

“Move on. Learn to joke. I am 13 years old, and you’re like 40 going on 50,”

according to the New York Times.

The school has since taken action by suspending some of the students responsible for the accounts and informing parents about the situation. They also held an assembly to educate students about online safety. While some of the accounts have been deleted, a few still remain.

Some teachers have spoken out about how these posts have affected them and their families.

“Many of my students spend hours and hours and hours on TikTok, and I think it’s just desensitized them to the fact that we’re real people,”

said Bettina Scibilia, an English teacher of of nearly 20 years.

“They didn’t feel what a violation this was to create these accounts and impersonate us and mock our children and mock what we love,”

said Scibilia, who was targeted by two different accounts. Whitelock, a teacher of 27 years, told the Times he felt his reputation had been tarnished.

“An impersonator assassinated my character — and slandered me and my family in the process,”

    he told the Times.

  • Two Female Teachers In Wisconsin Resign For Allegedly Sexting Student and Attempting To Arrange Foursome

Two Female Teachers In Wisconsin Resign For Allegedly Sexting Student and Attempting To Arrange Foursome

Two high school business teachers in Wisconsin were forced to resign after it was discovered that they had been engaging in inappropriate behavior with a student, per the NY Post

The teachers, Alexsia Saldaris and Jennifer Larson were caught exchanging explicit messages and photos with the student through Snapchat. They even went as far as suggesting a foursome and sending risqué pictures. The scandal came to light after a school trip that took place from April 7-9th.

Larson confessed to sending inappropriate messages about

“cuddling, flirting, and the implication of alcohol.”

The teachers reportedly told the boy they wanted to

    “have fun”

with him and asked if another student could join them. Additionally, Saldaris allowed the student to drive a district van and shared a half-kiss with him, reports note. On a separate occasion, Saldaris sent the student photos of herself in her underwear and lingerie.

Larson eventually reported Saldaris to the administration for letting the student drive the van which ended their relationship. The scandal was further exposed when students were seen laughing at explicit pictures of Saldaris on a phone. Both teachers were placed on administrative leave and later resigned.

  • Utah Lawmaker Introduces Bill That Mandates Parents To Potty Train Their Children Before Enrolling Them In Kindergarten

Utah Lawmaker Introduces Bill That Mandates Parents To Potty Train Their Children Before Enrolling Them In Kindergarten

Parents in Utah may soon be required by law to ensure that their children are potty trained before sending them to kindergarten. A new bill introduced by state Rep. Douglas Welton in Utah aims to prohibit parents from enrolling their children in kindergarten if they haven’t completed potty training, per the NY Post.

“You’re asking teachers who already seem to be distrusted a little bit by certain segments of the population and you’re asking them to go and help facilitate a child use the restroom. That’s a big risk that a lot of them don’t want to take and shouldn’t have to take,”

the Republican lawmaker stated. The bill itself would mandate the State Board of Education to create a new rule

“regarding toilet training as a condition for kindergarten enrollment.”

Students who are not potty trained would be temporarily removed from class and referred to a school social worker or counselor for assistance. They would only be allowed to return to the classroom once they have successfully learned to use the bathroom independently. However, there are exceptions in the legislation for students who have a condition documented in their Individualized Education Program that hinders their ability to be

    “toilet trained.”

State Rep. Douglas Welton argues that this measure is crucial for the safety of both the children and their teachers. Walton expressed that the need for this law has become more pressing due to the increase in the number of students attending full-day kindergarten following the expansion of classroom access through another bill.

“Across the state of Utah. We’ve got roughly four times the number of kids who are coming to kindergarten that aren’t potty trained,”

    Welton said.

On Wednesday, the House Education Committee gave a favorable recommendation to the bill. If it gets the green light, it will go into effect for the 2024-2025 school year.

  • Teacher Fired After Posting TikToks Where He Joked About Deceiving Students and Passing Gas On Them

Teacher Fired After Posting TikToks Where He Joked About Deceiving Students and Passing Gas On Them

A teacher in Kansas City, Missouri, has been fired from his job after posting TikTok videos that suggested he intentionally told students wrong information and farted on them if they

    “annoyed”

    him, reports Insider

Stephen Taylor taught history and product design at the Mill Creek Campus alternative school. When he’s off the clock Taylor said he pursues his true passion which is comedy.

He would film videos in his classroom after school hours. The videos included Taylor admitting to sharing incorrect information with students and sometimes

    “crop dusting,”

    or

    “farting”

on them. He also discussed topics about students using drug-related language.

Taylor told Insider that he planned on quitting his teaching job in 2024 to focus on his comedy career and was using TikTok to build his online presence.

At first, the principal advised Taylor against filming on school property, but Taylor did not follow the advice and ended up on administrative leave.

He eventually took down the videos but was still terminated. The school district cited violations of their social media policy and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act as the reasons for his dismissal.

“Online communication should meet the standards of professional interactions expected at school or among the school community,”

said a letter from the HR department addressed to Taylor.

Taylor fired back at school administrators,  calling their school policy

    “vague.”

    He told Insider,

“I think the social media policy is too vague to violate. It’s a catch-all clause that allows them to ‘pick and choose’ who’s in the wrong based on their opinions, which are usually self-serving.”

  • Teacher Arrested After Students Discover Methamphetamine In Her Hair Tie, Police Say

Teacher Arrested After Students Discover Methamphetamine In Her Hair Tie, Police Say

A middle school teacher in Indiana was arrested after students discovered methamphetamine hidden in her hair scrunchie, reports FOX News. Police also found a pouch of clean urine in her pants, which she had brought with her in anticipation of upcoming drug tests.

The incident occurred during a family fun night at Helfrich Park STEM Academy, where Sarah Duncan, a 35-year-old woman and parent of a student, was present. At the end of the event, around 6 p.m., Duncan took pictures with students in a photo booth, as noted in the affidavit.

“Both juveniles stated that Duncan let her hair down for the photo,”

    Evansville Police Department officers wrote.

“After the photo, the juveniles cleaned up the area and located a blueish-colored velvet-type scrunchie with a white zipper on the table. They noticed the scrunchie was heavier than a typical scrunchie, they opened the zipper pouch and observed a glass vial that contained a white powdered substance that the two believed to be drugs along with a cut straw with white powder.”

After the students discovered the methamphetamine in the hair scrunchie, they immediately informed another teacher who advised them to throw it away. This teacher secured the scrunchie in her classroom and informed the principal and assistant principal. On the other hand, two janitors reported that after the event, Duncan was seen desperately searching for a hair tie.

Police tested the scrunchie which reportedly tested positive for methamphetamine. Two days later, Duncan went to a clinic for a drug urine screening accompanied by the school’s deputy chief of staff and the police chief. However, her first two urine samples were too small and did not reach the appropriate temperature for testing. Duncan claimed to be clueless about why this was happening. During her third attempt, officers witnessed an unauthorized collection container fall from her shorts.

“Duncan stated that she was not aware of the pouch/container in her shorts until after she was providing her second sample,”

    police wrote in their affidavit.

Duncan was arrested and taken to Vanderburgh County Jail on charges of criminal possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. She has since been released on a $1,000 bond, with the condition that she attends a drug rehab program, according to the court clerk at Vanderburgh Superior Court who spoke to Fox News Digital.
