Angelina Jolie has made some shocking abuse accusations against her former partner, Brad Pitt, amid the ongoing legal dispute between the two, PEOPLE. 

According to a court motion filed by Angelina Jolie’s lawyers on Thursday, they claimed that Brad Pitt had been physically abusive towards her prior to the 2016 airplane incident that led to their divorce. 

48-year-old Angeline Jolie reportedly made these allegations in response to her former husband’s lawsuit over a business the former couple shared. Since 2022, they have been engaged in a legal battle after Brad Pitt, 60, sued Jolie after she sold her shares of their winery without his permission, which he believes violated their divorce agreement.

Jolie has been advocating for her freedom from her marriage with Pit, asserting his ongoing abuse. The public previously knew only about the airplane incident, where Jolie accused her ex of shaking her and being violent with their children, prompting her immediate divorce filing. Now, Jolie reveals that the abuse began earlier than that.

Jolie’s attorneys wrote in the filing,

“While Pitt’s history of physical abuse of Jolie started well before the family’s September 2016 plane trip from France to Los Angeles, this flight marked the first time he turned his physical abuse on the children as well. Jolie then immediately left him.”

Jolie alleges that Pitt’s winery lawsuit is an attempt to silence her regarding the documented evidence of abuse. However, a close source to Pitt denies the accusations, considering it to be a strategic move by Jolie.
