  • Ex-Boyfriend and Family Members Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Pregnant Woman and Kidnapping Her 8-Month-Old Baby

Ex-Boyfriend and Family Members Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Pregnant Woman and Kidnapping Her 8-Month-Old Baby

Three individuals have been charged following an incident in Overland Park, Kansas, where a pregnant woman was allegedly assaulted and her child abducted. On April 12, police responded to a report of a kidnapping at Oak Park Mall, as confirmed by FOX4.

The pregnant victim reported that her ex-boyfriend and his relatives physically assaulted her. During the confrontation, her ex-boyfriend allegedly took her cell phone and took her 8-month-old child, according to investigators. Court documents also indicate that the child was taken across state lines. “The child was taken outside the state without the consent of either the person having custody or the court,” a complaint filed on April 13 says.

The victim stated that her ex-boyfriend is not the child’s father and does not have any parental rights to take the child. Overland Park police reached out to Kansas City police, who assisted in locating the suspects and the child. They were all found at a residence in Kansas City. Fortunately, the child was found safe and taken to a local hospital for evaluation. All three suspects were arrested.

Naryah Britton and Connie Young have been charged with kidnapping, battery, and aggravated interference with parental custody. Navon Britton faces the same charges, along with an additional charge of domestic battery. Each of them is being held on a $50,000 bond.

  • Family Holds Funeral and Cremates Woman They Believed to Be Deceased, Only to Discover She Is Alive

Family Holds Funeral and Cremates Woman They Believed to Be Deceased, Only to Discover She Is Alive

A family in New York is reliving a tragedy after mourning the “death” of a loved one, only to later learn that the family member is still alive.

Shanita Hopkins, a resident of Rochester and sister of the woman believed to be deceased, shared the full story with WROC. She explained that her sister, Shanice Crews, had been reported missing in July 2021 when she stopped communicating and left her two children behind. In April 2024, local authorities informed the family that she had died in February of that year in an abandoned lot due to a drug overdose, with the autopsy revealing significant amounts of cocaine in her system.

Hopkins was shocked and began to question whether her sister had been drugged because she did not know her to use drugs. “Did somebody like lace her?” said Hopkins, speaking with WROC. Due to the severe decomposition of the body, it was cremated right away. A funeral and memorial service was held in May 2024. The ashes were even mixed with those of their mother to create keepsake necklaces.

    Family Receives Shocking News

However, they later discovered that those ashes belonged to a “stranger,” and the woman they believed to be deceased might be alive.

Months later, Hopkins received a message from a stranger in Detroit who claimed that her sister was still alive. “Ma’am, I’m concerned your sister is not dead,” the message said, followed by a photo of a woman who Hopkins said is her sibling. “She just volunteered at my event today,” the message added. “Wtf,” Hopkins responded.

Hopkins reached out to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office, presenting them with the photos and messages she had received. She stated that they maintained the dental records confirmed a match. Additional DNA tests were conducted on family members that came out not to be a match, indicating that the remains did not belong to Shanice. She believed that “they couldn’t find out who this was and they wanted to close a missing person’s case.”

Homeless Man Shocked to Learn He Won $1M on Scratch-Off Ticket

A “loyal customer” of a downtown San Luis Obispo liquor store recently won a $1 million prize from a California Lottery scratcher, as reported by The Independent

    Life Changing News

According to another local establishment, the winner was homeless and had been living on the streets. On Friday, Sandy’s Deli-Liquor shared on Instagram that they sold a Triple Red 777 scratcher that won the $1 million prize. The business also posted a photo of the winning ticket along with a sign that reads, “millionaire made here.”

A representative from the California Lottery stated that they can not “confirm or acknowledge any big wins like this until the person who won comes forward and their claim is thoroughly vetted by our security and law enforcement division.”

They indicated that this process typically takes about six to eight weeks. However, it may take longer if any unusual circumstances arise.

On Monday, Sandy’s manager Wilson Samaan shared with The Tribune that he was present when the man who purchased the winning ticket. Samaan stated that the man bought two 777 scratchers along with some smaller ones on the evening of April 6 for a total of $25. He checked one of the 777 tickets right away and won $200, which the cashier cashed out for him.

He didn’t check the other ticket until he returned first thing the next morning while Samaan was on duty. Initially, Samaan said the man thought he had won $100,000—still a significant amount—but then Samaan pointed out that there was an additional zero, bringing the total to an incredible $1 million prize.

Since then, Samaan has been assisting the man with the verification process for the win through the California Lottery, providing photo and video evidence of the purchase. He even offered to drive the man, who doesn’t have a car, to the nearest office in Fresno to redeem the scratcher, rather than risking it getting lost in the mail.

Woman Sentenced in Smuggling Case Resulting in Deaths of 16 Cubans Who Were Trying to Reach Florida

A federal district judge in Miami sentenced a 25-year-old woman to seven and a half years in prison on Friday for her involvement in a journey that resulted in the deaths of over a dozen individuals attempting to illegally enter the United States, according to WFLA

Yaquelin Dominguez-Nieves, a Cuban national who entered the country unlawfully in October 2022, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to smuggle aliens and related charges earlier this year, as stated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Just a month after arriving in the U.S., officials reported that Dominguez-Nieves and her boyfriend started planning to illegally transport 18 Cubans by boat from the island. They intended to navigate through the Florida Straits to reach the coast of Florida.

They charged fees for the journey, collecting approximately $11,500 from the families of the migrants in South Florida, assuring them that they would safely deliver their loved ones across the water. On November 16, 2024, all 18 individuals boarded a fishing boat that set off from Playa Jaimanitas. It was reported that the boat had only traveled about 30 miles when it began to sink, leading to just two survivors.

Among those who lost their lives were children, with officials noting that three of their bodies were found washed ashore in Monroe County. Their cause of death was attributed to “drowning.” The two survivors indicated that the boat was too small for 18 people, didn’t have lifejackets, and the captain appeared to be inexperienced, according to their accounts.

Chinese Tourist Couple Arrested for Allegedly Having Intercourse in the Streets of Thailand

A Chinese couple has been taken into custody after engaging in sexual intercourse on a street in Thailand, as reported by the NY Post. Oh Zhihang, 67, and his partner Lin Tingting, 35, set up a tripod and began recording themselves while performing the act on the pavement in Pattaya on Wednesday.

Bystanders were shocked as the indecent couple carried on in broad daylight and in full view of the public. Police quickly responded to the scene in South Pattaya after a security guard reported the incident. He recounted seeing the couple having sex on the sidewalk near the entrance to the well-known Walking Street.

    Suspects Identified and Apprehended

The guard managed to take photos of the couple before they left, which he later shared with the police, per the Bangkok Post. Officers located the couple at their hotel and brought them to the Pattaya City police station for interrogation. Humiliating footage showed their uncomfortable elevator ride and the couple’s “walk of shame” to the station.

Zhihang told authorities that he was unaware that engaging in public sex was against the law in Thailand. Zhihang communicated this to the police through an interpreter. “I’m a photographer who likes to travel around the world to take nude photos in various locations. I have visited many countries where I have done the same thing.” Officials disclosed that the couple expressed regret for their actions, stating, “I apologize to the Thai people and the officials for damaging the image of Pattaya.”

Police Colonel Songwut Chueplakij said the couple would be fined for engaging in lewd behavior. They face up to 10 years in prison if it is determined that they published their explicit content. “The maximum fine is 5,000 Baht [$149.24 USD] each for public indecency. They are also being interrogated in connection with the Computer Crime Act. This fine can be 100,000 Baht [$2984.72 USD].”

  • Disturbed Parents Plead Guilty to Forcibly Tattooing Their Young Children After Restraining Them, Then Attempting to Remove Ink with Lemon Juice

Disturbed Parents Plead Guilty to Forcibly Tattooing Their Young Children After Restraining Them, Then Attempting to Remove Ink with Lemon Juice

A couple from Texas has pleaded guilty to forcibly tattooing their two young children while they were restrained, gagged, and blindfolded, according to the NY Post

The mother and stepfather, Megan and Gunner Farr, confessed to using a staple to tattoo their 5 and 9-year-old children. Following a report to Child Protective Services, they desperately attempted to erase the tattoos by scraping and scrubbing the children’s skin so intensely that “flesh was removed,” as reported by KTRE.

“There were visible injuries on the child at the specific location of the tattoo and it appeared that the flesh was removed from the body at the tattoo location,” interim Zavalla Police Chief Lt. James Denby said when the disturbed couple was arrested on April 24, 2023.

    Details of Horrific Abuse

Police reported that Megan, 27, and Gunner, 23, restrained the children with rope, blindfolded them with a rag, and taped their mouths shut before using a pointed needle to tattoo their skin. The couple marked the 5-year-old’s foot and the 9-year-old’s shoulder, as detailed in an arrest affidavit obtained by the news outlet.

On April 17, 2023, the children’s biological father and stepmother alerted Child Protective Services after noticing the tattoos and questioning Megan Farr, who reportedly laughed before driving away. The CPS investigation led the disturbed parents to attempt to remove the tattoos by cutting, scraping, and scrubbing the children’s skin with lemon juice, according to the affidavit. Officials later removed both children, along with their younger siblings, from the home.

Megan Farr pleaded guilty on Thursday to causing injury to a child, as reported by the outlet. She is slated to receive her sentencing in May. Gunner Farr pleaded guilty on March 20 and was sentenced to five years in prison for bodily injury charges and an additional two years for unlawful restraint, according to KTRE.

McDonald’s Employee Tackles Teen to the Ground and Chokes Her for Going Behind the Counter too Get Ranch Dressing

A McDonald‘s employee in Florida reportedly choked a 17-year-old girl to the ground after the teen allegedly went behind the counter to get her own ranch dressing, according to police statements cited by the NY Post.

Akeena Sampson, 31, was on duty at a St. Petersburg McDonald’s on April 4 when she “knowingly or willfully” assaulted the teenager, as reported by the Miami Herald.
