29-Year-Old Woman Arrested After Enrolling In High School And Posing As Student

A 29-year-old woman in New Brunswick, New Jersey has been arrested after enrolling at a high school and posing as a student, NBC News reported. Officials say that the woman, later identified as Hyejeong Shin, attended New Brunswick High School for several days before her true age was discovered.

According to New Jersey statutes, all public schools are required by law to “immediately enroll unaccompanied children, even in the absence of records normally required for enrollment,” but the school district is permitted to request additional documents at a later date to verify a student’s age. In this case, Hyejeong Shin had provided a fake birth certificate to do so.

School employees immediately grew suspicious after Shin’s enrollment, and the woman spent the majority of her schooldays with guidance counselors who were trying to coax information from her. She participated in only two classes, and spent more time with her actual peers (other adults) than the high school students.

The high school employees were eventually able to uncover “this woman’s ruse and enable us to address this situation promptly,” New Brunswick Public School District Superintendent Aubrey Johnson said Tuesday, during a Board of Education meeting. “All appropriate authorities were immediately notified and the individual in question was arrested for providing false documentation,” he explained, later stating that she was barred from district property.

Hyejeong Shin has since been arrested and charged with one count of providing a false government document. New Brunswick Police Department has yet to provide any information about Shin’s intentions, so her motive remains unclear.

  • Airport Employee Dies After Being Sucked Into Jet Engine, Reports Say Employee Was Warned To Stand Clear Before Fatal Incident Occurred

Airport Employee Dies After Being Sucked Into Jet Engine, Reports Say Employee Was Warned To Stand Clear Before Fatal Incident Occurred

Last month, an Envoy Air staff member died after being pulled into a jet engine. Investigators from NTSB have revealed what led to the tragic incident, according to Jalopnik

The plane landed following a flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Montgomery. Reports say the American Eagles plane Embraer’s auxiliary power unit was not functioning amid the flight. If you’re unaware, the Embraer’s auxiliary power unit (APU) gives life to the plane’s non-propulsion equipment, which includes

    “electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems,”

reports the outlet. Due to this malfunction, the pilots chose to keep the

“small airliner’s jet engines running until the plane was connected to ground power.”

The crew on the ground was allegedly told two times that the jet’s engines will run as the plane was parked.

“The ground crew reported that a safety briefing was held about 10 minutes before the airplane arrived at the gate. A second safety “huddle” was held shortly before the airplane arrived at the gate, to reiterate that the engines would remain running until ground power was connected. It was also discussed that the airplane should not be approached, and the diamond of safety cones should not be set until the engines were off, spooled down, and the airplane’s rotating beacon light had been extinguished by the flight crew,”

    said an NTSB report.

The NTSB says although there was a briefing, video footage shows an unidentified ramp agent walking close to the Embraer airplane and standing in front of the jet engine as it was running. The video then shows the agent being yanked off of their feet and sucked into the

    “turbine.”

During the incident, the pilots felt a shake on the plane and the engine then shut down. Before the incident occurred, the unnamed ramp agent was told to be aware of the engine after being shoved over by the engine’s exhaust, says other staff members on the scene.

    The investigation is still ongoing.

  • Woman Says Her Mother Refuses To Babysit Her Grandchild Unless She Is Paid $20 An Hour Plus Late Fees

Woman Says Her Mother Refuses To Babysit Her Grandchild Unless She Is Paid $20 An Hour Plus Late Fees

According to the New York Post, a woman, Nina, and her husband are having financial issues. Nina’s daughter is merely a few months old and she is looking to put her in daycare; however, due to her and her husband’s credit card debt, she fears daycare expenses would put them further in the hole.

Nina had hopes of having her daughter’s grandmother help them; however, the woman was shocked once the grandmother informed her that she will be charging an hourly rate to babysit her grandchild. The Post reports that the grandmother’s reason for charging wasn’t for money but because she was upset that Nina had decided to return to work instead of staying home with her daughter.

    Nina said on Reddit,

“My mum is 64, and has been a stay-at-home-mom since 1992 and hasn’t been part of the workforce since then.”

    Nina added,

“She refused, saying she’s too old and that she already raised her kids… She also added that if I really wanted this baby, then maybe I should have thought about staying home like she did to take care of it while my partner goes to work and provides for us like a ‘traditional’ family.”

    The 29-year-old continued to say,

”We are currently in a small one-bedroom apartment in a metropolitan area and would need to save money to move to a two-bedroom once the baby grows up. In a couple of years, we will need more space. When I explained all this to my mom, she told me she will charge me $20/hour for each hour she takes care of the baby, plus late fees if we’re late for pick-up.”

In addition to the payment, there were equipment requirements that her mother demanded which included, diapers, a stroller, a car seat, and bottles. Also, the unidentified grandmother said that she will not babysit at her daughter’s home.

  • Woman Sued Company That Makes Fireball Cinnamon For False Advertisement, Claims Mini-Bottles Don’t Contain Whiskey

Woman Sued Company That Makes Fireball Cinnamon For False Advertisement, Claims Mini-Bottles Don’t Contain Whiskey

A woman is reportedly suing the company that makes Fireball Whisky for false advertisement. The woman says Sazerac’s packaging for the liquor brand is deceiving after she learned that Fireball Whisky mini bottles don’t include Whiskey, reports the New York Post

The lawsuit was filed against Sazerac in Illinois by Anna Marquez after she learned that the Fireball Whisky mini bottles don’t actually have Whiskey in them, as she said it was

    “deceptive labeling on Fireball Cinnamon.”

Marquez says Sazerac sold Fireball Cinnamon mini bottles for $.99 at gas stations, yet, the mini bottles didn’t include whiskey and instead contained a malt drink. The Fireball Cinnamon mini bottle, which is also sold at non-liquor stores didn’t have the word

    “whisky”

on it like the original Fireball Cinnamon Whisky and the suit says the flavor of the mini bottle was

“malt beverage flavored to taste like its cinnamon whiskey”.

Although the bottles were similar, many people who purchased the smaller bottles weren’t paying attention to the fine print, according to KSNT. The small print read,

“Malt Beverage With Natural Whisky & Other Flavors and Carmel Color”.

According to the suit, the choice of words was a

    “clever turn of phrase.”

    The suit said,

“[Consumers] will think the Product is a malt beverage with added (1) natural whisky and (2) other flavors… What the label means to say is that the Product contains ‘Natural Whisky Flavors & Other Flavors,’ but by not including the word ‘Flavors’ after ‘Natural Whisky,’ purchasers who look closely will expect the distilled spirit of whisky was added as a separate ingredient.”

    The lawsuit is reportedly representing

    “more than 100”

other people including Marquez who purchased the drink. The plaintiff is looking for $5 million in compensation.

Kaivon Deondre Washington, 18, Everett Lee, 28, Casen Carver, 18, and a 17-year-old who police have not identified because he is underage were arrested for the rape of 19-year-old Madison Brooks.

  • TSA Investigates After Hacker Found FBI No-Fly List On Unsecured Server

TSA Investigates After Hacker Found FBI No-Fly List On Unsecured Server

After terrorist attacks against the United States on September 11th, 2001, a screening program involving airlines was created to compare passenger records with federal data to keep dangerous people from flying to and from the country. Over twenty years later, a hacker, who goes by the name Maia Arson Crimew, infiltrated an unsecured computer server hosted by CommuteAir, a regional airline based in Ohio, CNN reported. Along with the No-fly list, the hacker was able to access the names, birthdays and the last four digits of Social Security numbers of current and former CommuteAir employees.

“It should never be this easy to just completely (breach) an entire airline,” the hacker says. According to CNN, Maia Arson Crimew, who was formerly known as Tillie Kottmann, was indicted by a US grand jury in 2021 for being part of a conspiracy that hacked dozens of companies and government organizations and posted the stolen data online. She claims that she wanted to prove the bias and discrimination towards those with Russian and Arabic sounding names. “It’s just crazy to me how big that Terrorism Screening Database is, and yet, there is still very clear trends towards almost exclusively Arabic and Russian sounding names throughout the million entries.”

Since the data breach, The Transportation Security Administration says they continue the investigation of a “potential cybersecurity incident.” CommuteAir had said in a memo that they are working closely with law enforcement, but that the hacker had accessed “an outdated 2019 version of the federal no-fly list.” They have not yet followed up with comments about the private information of their current and former employees being obtained and released publicly.
