A couple from Florida has been arrested for a disturbing crime involving kidnapping, attempted murder, and robbery, reports the New York Post. Natalie Fonseca, 25, and Nafis Reynolds, 31, lured a man they met on Facebook for a date. However, during their time together, they attacked him, threatened his life, and stole his belongings. They even took turns cutting his throat before throwing him off a bridge into the Escambia River. Miraculously, the victim survived and was able to lead officials to the suspects.

The victim, who remains unidentified, agreed to have dinner with Fonseca after meeting her on Facebook. He went to her home, where Reynolds was introduced as her

“uncle.”

They all got into the victim’s car and went for a drive.

They drove to the unnamed victims home. Afterwards, they got back into the vehicle and took another ride.  It was during this ride that Fonseca and Reynolds attacked the man, threatening him and robbing him of his money, phone, and shoes. They also took his car keys. The horrifying ordeal continued as they both cut his throat before tossing him over the bridge into the river. They then fled in the victim’s car, which was later found burned and abandoned.

Despite the couple’s efforts to kill him, the victim survived the fall and the injuries to his throat.

He managed to swim to safety on a piece of dry land where he later passed out. Luckily, he was brought to shore by a boater the next morning. The injured man made his way to a parking lot where he found help and was taken to the hospital. He underwent surgery and stayed in the hospital for several days to recover.

After his release from the hospital, the victim guided the authorities to Fonseca’s home, which they were already familiar with due to a other disturbance reports. Surveillance video from a store also helped identify Fonseca and Reynolds as the suspects. On Monday, the couple was arrested in Ensley. Both were found to be in possession of fentanyl. Fonseca’s bond was set at $852,000, while Reynolds’ bond was set at $851,000.
