A former office aide employed at Miami Killian Senior High School in Miami-Dade was taken into custody following allegations of engaging in inappropriate behavior with a teenage student, according to NBC6.

Vanessa Vigil, aged 35, was apprehended on Wednesday on charges that included offenses against a student by an authority figure and five counts of battery, says an arrest report.

The report states that Vigil, while working at the school, made advances towards a 16-year-old student. The teen claimed that Vigil was flirting with him for several weeks by asking for his phone number and complimenting his appearance.

According to the teen, Vigil eventually began touching him inappropriately and expressing love towards him. The report also mentioned that the teen experienced a panic attack after one of the incidents.

School surveillance footage confirmed one of the incidents described by the teen, supporting his statement. The report further stated that Vigil deliberately and knowingly utilized her position at the school to initiate and pursue a romantic relationship with the victim.

During the interview with investigators, Vigil refuted the allegations, asserting that it was the teen who had flirted with her and complimented her.

Vigil was later arrested and charged.
