An ex-reality star, Connor Smith, has finally been apprehended on Thursday after being on the run for a year, reports Daily Beast. The former contestant on the MTV dating show “Are You The One?” went on the run last year following his arranged meeting with a minor for sexual purposes.
Smith was unknowingly engaging in inappropriate conversations with an undercover cop, who he believed to be a 15-year-old girl. Reports alleged that he sent indecent pictures and images. Reports added that he conversed with the undercover cop for several weeks.
Smith allegedly planned to meet up with the cop; however, when the police arrived at his home, he fled. In February 2023, a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges including meeting a minor, grooming, and sharing harmful material.
Smith faced allegations of sexually assaulting a minor in 2021, yet, the charges were later dismissed. Recently, he was apprehended in Clearwater, Florida, and is currently being held without bail. Smith is set to make a court appearance on Friday.
