A devoted Philadelphia mother, Dominique Goods-Burke, has become the eighth fatality in the aftermath of a tragic plane crash earlier this year.
The 34-year-old succumbed to her injuries on April 27. This was three months after debris from a falling Learjet 55 struck the car she was in with her fiancé, Steven Dreuitt. One of her children was also injured in the unfortunate incident.
The crash occurred on January 31 when the Mexico-bound medical transport plane fell shortly after departing Philadelphia. All six people on board lost their lives, including a young girl who had just undergone life-saving treatment.
On the ground, over two dozen residents were injured, and more than a dozen homes were severely damaged. Goods-Burke had been hospitalized at Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital since the incident.
Her son, who was also in the car, suffered serious burns. Dreuitt died at the scene. According to Fox 29, Meg Hagele, founder of High Point Café where Goods-Burke worked, described her as “an amazing mom” and “incredible baker”.
In a heartfelt tribute, the café posted on social media: “Dominique was a fighter until the end… We will miss her kind smile and heart full of love.”
A GoFundMe set up by loved ones called Dominique Goods-Burke a “devoted mother to her 3 children and partner.” A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday. The crash remains under federal investigation, occurring just days after a separate air tragedy claimed 67 lives in Washington.
