Man Arrested After Holding Woman Captive At Gunpoint and Locking Her Inside Trailer For 4 Years

Harris County Sheriff's Office

A man from Texas, Abraham Segura, 42, has been apprehended on kidnapping charges after reportedly kidnapping a woman and holding her against her will in a trailer with window bars for four years, reports the New York Post

According to KTRK, court records show that the victim was saved after using a phone inside the locked trailer to call for aid while Segura was at work. The unidentified woman informed investigators that the man threatened to murder her and held her at gunpoint. Firefighters who helped rescue the woman had to utilize power tools to slice through bars and

“sheets of plywood on the windows”

reports The Post.

During the suspect’s first court appearance, the prosecutor showcased the allegations made against him. The prosecutor said,

“The defendant had kept the complainant inside a trailer for approximately four years.”

The prosecutor went on to say that the exits in the trailer were blocked off. When officials made the rescue and gained access to the home, they allegedly found three firearms. The suspect interrupted during the court appearance alleging that the narrative the prospector is telling is one-sided. However, the hearing officer interrupted telling the suspect that it isn’t the right time to

“mount his defense,”

The Post reports.

The hearing officer said,

“We’re not going to argue the facts of the case today because it’s not going to change my mind about probable cause.”

Segura’s bond has been set at $150,000. He is subjected to be placed on house arrest if he makes bond.
