Man Charged With Disturbing The Peace After Pulling Out Machete When His Request To Sing Another Karaoke Song Was Declined

Brevard County Sheriff's Office

It looks like a man from Florida, Travis Jordan, was arrested and charged after reportedly pulling out a machete because his karaoke request was declined, reports the New York Post

On Sunday, the 39-year-old was charged with disturbing the peace following the shocking encounter that occurred at the Kennedy’s Lamp Post Tavern, according to WKMG. Officials discovered Jordan with bloody red eyes and a strong odor of alcohol. A witness at the location informed responding police that Jordan pulled out the weapon after his request to sing another karaoke song was declined. Luckily, the female witness was able to persuade the man to give her the weapon, which she then hid while contacting officials.

Jordan told authorities that he was threatened days prior to his arrest and he carried around the weapon for protection.

Wayne Ivey, Brevard County Sheriff jokingly wrote on Facebook,

“Unfortunately, Jordan’s actions didn’t earn him another song on stage, but they did win him a trip to ‘Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge’ where every night is open mic night and he can sing any song he wants all night long!!”
