Sadly, a man, Shimoin Brauer, from London died earlier in the week after he reportedly dropped his inhaler amid an asthma attack not too long before his flight arrived in New York

On Monday morning, the 25-year-old passenger grew unconscious when he

“panicked”

and his inhaler fell through his fingers nearly 45 minutes before the flight landed, reports Jewish News

The flight crew tried to give him oxygen because they didn’t know that his airway was blocked due to the asthma attack, said a member of Brauer’s Orthodox Jewish community in Stamford Hill, reports the news outlet.

The crew attempted to do CPR as well; however, they were unable to revive Brauer. The 25-year-old was headed to New York to volunteer at a summer camp, reports Jewish News.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
