Man Sentenced To 3,000 Years In Prison After Being Convicted Of Child Sex Crimes

Greene County District Attorney's Office

On Tuesday, a man, Matthew Perry, from Pennsylvania has been sentenced to 3,000 years behind bars after being convicted of child sex crimes. According to Fox, the 44-year-old was convicted of 13,143 felonies.

Perry was declared guilty following a trial in November for sex crimes that proceeded for six years.

David Russo, Greene County District Attorney said,

“This is an unprecedented conviction and sentence and sets a milestone in the fight against sexual predators… I hope other district attorneys follow our lead in our mission to protect children.”

The District Attorney informed Fox Digital during an interview that this case served as an example of the ways his administration is being more aggressive in its approach to stopping sexual predators from targeting and attacking children.

Russo went on to say,

“Not all these rapes happened at once, so why charge them as one count?… If someone thinks they can do something like this and only get six to 10 years or six to 12 years, they’re not worried about it.”

“When we charge them this way, we can get longer sentences… We want to deter this activity and protect the safety of our children.”

The six-year assault started when the victim was merely 5 years old and ended in 2017 after a friend witnessed what was occurring and informed a school counselor back in 2017.

According to Fox,

“Perry was previously convicted by the same judge last May to serve 40 to 80 years in prison for molesting a different girl between the summer of 2016 and March 2017.”

Perry won’t be eligible for parole until the year 3523.
