An employee at a Mississippi Burger King is now in police custody after a heated exchange with a customer over the drive-thru intercom turned violent, Law And Crime reported.
On February 16th, at around 8 P.M., officers from the Gulfport Police Department were assisting a motorist when they were flagged down by a witness. They were told that a physical altercation was occurring around s the corner at a Burger King. As police approached the fast food restaurant, they heard two gunshots. That’s when they discovered two men, each with gunshot wounds.
While investigating the incident, officers learned that Eddie Louis Smith had gotten into an argument with a customer over the drive-thru intercom and walked out the back door while the customer exited the vehicle. As the two were fighting, the 33-year-old allegedly pulled out a firearm and shoot two rounds, hitting both the victim and himself.
The two were sent to a nearby hospital and are expected to fully recover. After being treated by medical professionals, Smith was taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. He has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon after felony conviction.
