Sadly, a woman, Gerrielle German, from Mississippi, and her son, 3, have been declared missing for several months after reportedly entering an online cult near St. Louis, reports WHNT. In early July, German and her son Ashton were declared missing by the woman’s mother, reports the Horn Lake police.

Shelita Gipson, the woman’s mother, is distraught and determined to learn where her daughter and grandson could be. She explained,

“I just want to know if she’s okay, if the baby is okay, if they need anything… Are they cold, are they hungry, is she dead, is she alive? That’s all I need to know.”

German left Horn Lake with her son back in a July 2023, says her mother. She added that the woman traveled to Berkeley, Missouri with a friend.

According to Gipson, there is a connection between Rashad Jamal, a self-proclaimed new age influencer and prophet with a massive following on social media, and this

“spiritual journey.”

According to Captain Jody Keene of Horn Lake Police, the ex-husband of German informed them that she had left for a

“spiritual journey.”

In August, German and the child were last seen at a home in Berkeley, Missouri.

Local news outlets report that in addition to officials investigating the disappearance of German and her son, they’re also looking for other people who have gone missing.

According to local police, a group suspected to be part of a cult has been missing for months.

Rashad Jamal is serving an 18-year prison term in Georgia for child molestation, according to the police. The Horn Lake Police have handed over the investigation to the Berkeley Police and have also involved the FBI.

Gipson hasn’t had any communication with her daughter since July of last year and expressed that her 4-year-old daughter was left behind.
