A teen from Connecticut, 18-year-old Luis Hernandez, and his 42-year-old mother, Mary Pruenca, were apprehended and charged after having a BB gun shootout with minors following a verbal disagreement that occurred on social media, officials say, reports the New York Post.
The teen was arrested following an investigation into the BB gun shootout which took place on Feb. 19 in Plainfield, reports WTNH.
Officials say they responded to an uproar that involved 10 people at 10:52 p.m. Reports say that Hernandez, his mother, and another male went to a home after an argument with minors that happened online. Hernandez reportedly provoked a fight with the minors and fired at their home with the BB Gun, tarnishing the property.
Officials say the man who was with the mother and son didn’t get involved, and they all fled before authorities got to the scene. On May 10, the mother was taken into custody and charged with breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor. She was later released on a $10,000 bond. The teen was charged with breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor, along with illegal discharge of a firearm, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, and assault. He was later released on a $50,000. Reports say his hearing is set for July 31.
