A mom from Florida was arrested after she allegedly left her 7-year-old daughter alone in a car while she went to a bar and got drunk, reports Fox35. The incident happened at The Perfect Spot Bar in DeLand around 3 a.m. on Sunday. The police were called to the bar when the little girl went inside looking for her mom. The investigation showed that the child was left in an unlocked car, which was turned off, in a dark parking lot with no lights.

The exact time the woman arrived at the bar is unclear, but the police arrived at 2:58 a.m. and found the woman around 6:30 a.m. When the officers asked her the time, she seemed confused and said she only meant to be away for 10 minutes. The police noticed that she appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, with slurred speech and unsteady movements.

The Department of Children and Families took custody of the child, and the woman, Veronica Elliott, was charged with child neglect. However, she has since been released from jail after paying a $2,500 bond.
