A small request to sit in the correct seat turned into a violent fight at a movie theater in Florida. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office released a video of the incident, which showed Jesse Montez Thorton II, 27, attacking Marc Cohen, 63, at the AMC theater in Pompano Beach, reports FOX NEWS. According to Cohen, he bought VIP tickets with advanced seating for himself and his wife, which is what he told officials.

Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when Cohen noticed Thorton and another woman sitting in their seats. Cohen politely asked them to move, but Thorton allegedly responded with hostility. The video footage shows Thorton getting in Cohen’s face, causing Cohen to lose his balance on the theater steps. Moments later, the situation escalated into a physical confrontation, with Thorton repeatedly punching Cohen in the face after Cohen fell.

The attack was described by the sheriff’s office as

“callous,”

and Cohen suffered injuries to his head and face. He had to be transported to the hospital for treatment. Thorton and the woman he was with quickly left the scene, but after a two-month investigation, Thorton was apprehended in Fort Lauderdale. He currently faces charges of aggravated battery with great bodily harm and has been taken to jail.
