A Florida cop has been apprehended after reportedly stealing a credit card from a deceased man and utilizing it to make multiple purchases, according to FOX. 25-year-old Dianne Ferreira allegedly confessed to snapping photos of a man’s credit card while she was at the scene of an emergency call, reports Fox 35.
Ferreira was fired and charged with criminal use of personal identification information of deceased, fraudulent use of credit card, and theft by taking or retaining possession of card, says The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, reports the news outlet.
The woman stole the card information after responding to an emergency call from an unidentified man who complained about having issues breathing on April 3. The man was discovered deceased when officials arrived at the home. The man’s wife later contacted the St. Cloud Police Department after she noticed multiple charges on his card, which started a day after he was pronounced dead. The charges included a hotel room, food from Wendy’s, and seven gas station purchases. Once the card was canceled,
“charges were attempted for fuel and an eyelash extension business,”
reports Fox.
While investigating, officials matched the suspect’s car to Ferreira’s. The woman informed officials that she used the card to pay for her personal expenses.
