Pete Davidson recently spoke about his experience seeking help for his drug use during a comedy show in Atlantic City, New Jersey, reports PEOPLE. The 29-year-old alum of SNL began his performance at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s Ettes Arena by addressing his recent stint in rehab. Davidson informed the crowd that he had just completed rehab and jokingly referred to it as his seventh attempt, stating that he now had a

“post-rehab glow.”

During his set, Davidson revealed that he had been using ketamine, a dissociative drug commonly used as an anesthetic, on a daily basis for four years. He described the drug as

“magical”

and even joked about its mind-altering effects, claiming that it once made The Wiggles and Schindler’s List merge in his mind.

Davidson also confessed to attending Aretha Franklin’s 2018 funeral while under the influence, expressing disbelief at his decision to go out in public in that state. As he approaches his 30th birthday in November, the comedian shared his belief that doing drugs in one’s 30s is no longer acceptable. He stated that it’s not cute and instead labels the individual as a drug addict.

In June, PEOPLE confirmed that Davidson had entered rehab to receive in-patient therapy for issues related to post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorder.
