Time is up for “Primetime,” University of Colorado Boulder head coach Deion Sanders and his longtime girlfriend Tracey Edmonds.

The two announced an amicable split via social media, praising each other and vowing to remain friends, PEOPLE reports.

“To EVERYONE who has been there for us, supported us, and shown us love…We have mutually decided that it is best for us to move forward in life AS FRIENDS and have made this decision with love in our hearts, respect for each other, and appreciation for the time we’ve shared together,” Edmonds and Sanders wrote in a joint statement on her Instagram page.

“Please keep us in your prayers as we go through this transition. Thank you for being there for us ALL THESE YEARS! We love you and appreciate you SO MUCH!” she concluded, with praying hands and a red heart emoji.

The two have been inseparable since meeting in 2012 at a movie premiere party that Edmonds produced. Deion was so impressed with the film producer that he asked a friend to follow up and get her number. They then discussed the possibility of a show, Deion’s Family Playbook, that would highlight his family.

“I started working with Deion on the show, we grew quite fond of each other and ended up dating,” Edmonds said previously.

Deion and Edmonds, both 56, fell fast for one another. And their whirlwind romance progressed over 12 years and culminated with a Valentine’s Day engagement in 2019. But ultimately the flame has fizzled out, leaving many on social media disappointed with the breakup news.
