A seven-year-old child carried a knife to school to

“kill the teachers and then the students by stabbing them.”

The student told authorities he got the idea from the horror film ‘Chucky,’ according to Newsweek

On Wednesday, Feb. 23rd, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office was called into the Cherryvale Elementary School in Sumter, South Carolina after a student arrived at the building with a knife. According to a press release issued by the Sheriff’s Office,

“The student brought the knife from home in their book bag and threatened their classmates and teacher. The knife recovered is a stainless-steel kitchen knife just over 12 inches long with a seven-inch blade. Thankfully, no students or faculty were harmed,”

it stated.

The unnamed child, whose identity has been concealed due to legal reasons, told authorities that he conjured up this deadly scheme after watching the movie

“Chucky.”

For those who are unaware, the movie ‘Chucky’ is about a murderous doll that comes to life.

Cherryvale Elementary School Officials are working closely with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office as an investigation is still underway. The seven-year-old is charged with carrying weapons on school property, reports reveal.
