  • Teacher Arrested After Students Discover Methamphetamine In Her Hair Tie, Police Say

Teacher Arrested After Students Discover Methamphetamine In Her Hair Tie, Police Say

A middle school teacher in Indiana was arrested after students discovered methamphetamine hidden in her hair scrunchie, reports FOX News. Police also found a pouch of clean urine in her pants, which she had brought with her in anticipation of upcoming drug tests.

The incident occurred during a family fun night at Helfrich Park STEM Academy, where Sarah Duncan, a 35-year-old woman and parent of a student, was present. At the end of the event, around 6 p.m., Duncan took pictures with students in a photo booth, as noted in the affidavit.

“Both juveniles stated that Duncan let her hair down for the photo,”

    Evansville Police Department officers wrote.

“After the photo, the juveniles cleaned up the area and located a blueish-colored velvet-type scrunchie with a white zipper on the table. They noticed the scrunchie was heavier than a typical scrunchie, they opened the zipper pouch and observed a glass vial that contained a white powdered substance that the two believed to be drugs along with a cut straw with white powder.”

After the students discovered the methamphetamine in the hair scrunchie, they immediately informed another teacher who advised them to throw it away. This teacher secured the scrunchie in her classroom and informed the principal and assistant principal. On the other hand, two janitors reported that after the event, Duncan was seen desperately searching for a hair tie.

Police tested the scrunchie which reportedly tested positive for methamphetamine. Two days later, Duncan went to a clinic for a drug urine screening accompanied by the school’s deputy chief of staff and the police chief. However, her first two urine samples were too small and did not reach the appropriate temperature for testing. Duncan claimed to be clueless about why this was happening. During her third attempt, officers witnessed an unauthorized collection container fall from her shorts.

“Duncan stated that she was not aware of the pouch/container in her shorts until after she was providing her second sample,”

    police wrote in their affidavit.

Duncan was arrested and taken to Vanderburgh County Jail on charges of criminal possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. She has since been released on a $1,000 bond, with the condition that she attends a drug rehab program, according to the court clerk at Vanderburgh Superior Court who spoke to Fox News Digital.

Florida Woman Who’s Lifeless Body was Discovered In Alligator’s Mouth Was Previously Arrested For Trespassing Two Months Earlier

A woman’s lifeless body was discovered in the grasp of a 14-foot alligator. The victim has been identified as 41-year-old Sabrina Peckham, a homeless woman who had a history of run-ins with the law, reports the NY Post. Just two months prior to her untimely death, Peckham was arrested for trespassing on county wetland property.

According to court records, Pinellas County deputies caught Peckham trespassing on July 14, just half a mile from where her body was found. Despite warning signs, she ignored the restrictions and was ultimately charged with a misdemeanor. After pleading no contest, she was released from the county on September 8 and ordered to pay a $500 fine.

Peckham also had convictions for drug possession and theft, reports note. Medical examiners are currently working to determine whether the alligator attack was the cause of her death.

The incident was first reported by a witness on his way to a job interview, who spotted the massive alligator carrying Peckham’s body in a canal along a residential street. He immediately alerted the nearby fire department, who swiftly took action. Authorities made the decision to euthanize the alligator, which measured 13 feet and 8.5 inches in length. Some neighbors claimed that the reptile was shot multiple times after being pulled from the water.

The area where the incident occurred is close to Ridgecrest Park, which is known to be home to alligators. Residents have reported regular sightings of these creatures, but the alligator responsible for Peckham’s death was one of the largest they had ever encountered.

  • Texas Mother Fatally Shoots Daughter’s Abusive Boyfriend After He Allegedly Dared Her, Saying, ‘Just Go Ahead and Shoot Me!’

Texas Mother Fatally Shoots Daughter’s Abusive Boyfriend After He Allegedly Dared Her, Saying, ‘Just Go Ahead and Shoot Me!’

A mother from Texas has been taken into custody after allegedly shooting her daughter’s abusive boyfriend during a heated altercation in which he reportedly shouted,

    “Just shoot me,”

    reports the NY Post

Patricia Conlon, aged 49, visited the Dallas home of Joshua Troutte on Sunday after her daughter revealed that she was ending their nearly two-year-long abusive relationship due to his continued violent behavior.

According to law enforcement documents cited by Fox 4, Troutte’s roommate told police that he witnessed Conlon entering the residence armed and initiating an argument, during which Troutte yelled the aforementioned phrase. The roommate further stated that he heard multiple gunshots, eventually finding Troutte deceased in the bathroom.

When questioned by the police, Conlon claimed that her original intention was to hold Troutte at gunpoint until the authorities arrived to apprehend him for hitting her daughter above the eye with a phone. However, she admitted to the fatal shooting, insisting that she acted in self-defense after Troutte physically restrained her by grabbing her arm and pulling her hair, she told police.

The police, however, disputed Conlon’s claim of self-defense. They pointed out that she had tried to hold Troutte at gunpoint and regarded her use of deadly force as

    “unreasonable,”

according to the affidavit. Conlon was immediately arrested and charged with murder.

According to local reports, Troutte had an extensive criminal background, including a prior guilty plea for assault and family violence in 2018.

Kentucky Teens Face Charges For TikTok Bomb Threat Trend, Police Say

Four teenagers in Kentucky are now facing charges of terrorism and harassment after making bomb threats towards their teachers as part of a disturbing trend on TikTok, reports the NY Post

Since the start of the new school year, there have been four separate bomb threats at three high schools in Oldham County. It has been confirmed that at least three of these incidents were linked to social media.

“The challenge encouraged students to record a video of themselves telling a teacher there was a bomb or gun in their backpack,”

Oldham County police said in a statement.

The students, all 15 years old, have been suspended and must undergo a mental health screening before returning to school. District officials are urging parents to educate their children about the serious consequences of making such dangerous threats.

“Whether written or spoken, all threats are taken seriously and students need to know the repercussions of these actions, both short and long term. Even if they are not credible threats, they can cause a great deal of stress or anxiety for our students, families, and staff,”

the district wrote in a message to parents.

Father Arrested After Gun Was Found In 3-Year-Old’s Backpack At Pre-School

A 3-year-old boy in San Antonio, Texas, showed up to his pre-school with a handgun in his backpack, leading to the arrest of his father, Pete Robles, reports the NY Post.

The incident occurred at the West Side Pre-K 4 SA center, where teachers discovered the gun in the child’s backpack.

“The child was unaware that the gun was in the backpack,”

Pre-K 4 SA officials noted. As a result, the school has temporarily banned backpacks on campus. An off-duty parks officer, who was providing security at the school, helped seize the weapon and reported it to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD).

In response to the incident, the police will maintain an increased presence at the school for the foreseeable future. The 3-year-old boy has been placed in the custody of Child Protective Services, while Robles was booked and released on a $4,500 bond. He faces charges of felony child endangerment. Additional charges and arrests may be made pending further investigation.

This incident prompts reflection on a similar occurrence earlier this year at Richneck Elementary School in Virginia. In that case, a 6-year-old student shot at teacher Abigail Zwerner, appearing to be fully aware of his actions and even bragging about it afterward.

    “I did it … I shot that b—ch dead,”

the child admitted to authorities, docs show.

According to Education Week, there have been 24 shootings in American schools in 2023, resulting in injuries or deaths. These statistics reinforce the pressing need for improved gun safety measures and prevention strategies to protect students and educators.

A 28-year-old Indiana father has been arrested for the murder of his 1-year-old daughter, Law&Crime reported.

Damian Milton was taken into custody on Monday after an examination revealed severe injuries to his daughter, Amaya Milton. She had torn ligaments in her neck and a swollen brain due to lack of oxygen, doctors said. Milton has been charged with battery resulting in the death of a person under 14, a level 1 felony.

Milton called 911 on July 31, reporting his daughter’s difficulty breathing. Doctors at the Riley Hospital for Children quickly realized her injuries were life-threatening and contacted the police. Amaya was admitted to the intensive care unit with severe brain swelling and neck ligament injuries. She also had visible scratches on her face, reports reveal.

Amaya’s mother was reportedly at her workplace on the day when her daughter suffered the fatal injuries, according to the outlet.

During questioning, Milton initially claimed Amaya had fallen and hit her head on the carpet. However, in a second interview, he admitted to being

    “mildly aggressive”

with her at times. He confessed that he had forcefully pulled her by the arm, giving her a bear hug with her face pressed into his chest while squeezing her neck.

Amaya tragically succumbed to her injuries on August 6 after spending six days in the ICU. The hospital’s Child Protection Team determined that her injuries were likely caused by violent shaking. Milton is currently in custody on an $80,000 bond, awaiting formal charges. The exact cause of Amaya’s death has not been disclosed by authorities.

In the early morning hours on November 28th, a witness who spotted Abdillahi said she told him

“she had thrown the baby in the dumpster.”

The man disturbed by her remarks quickly notified police.

Witnesses went searching for the infant before officers arrived on the scene, to no avail.

“Witnesses were unsure at the time if the defendant was being truthful and called the police when they could not find the baby,”

    court documents state.

When police arrived on the scene they questioned Abdillahi about the child’s location which she disclosed.

according to a police report obtained by Law&Crime.
