Mother Arrested For Concealing $30,000 Worth Of Drugs On Her Children During Traffic Stop, Prosecutors Say

An Ohio mother was apprehended after authorities discovered an estimated $30,000 worth of illegal pharmaceutical drugs hidden on her children, reports Law & Crime

Victoria N. Barrientos, 27, was initially charged with engaging in

“corrupt activity, fentanyl trafficking, and money laundering.”

She now faces additional charges which were brought forth during her appearance in Zanesville Municipal Court, Wednesday. The new charges include,

“encompass endangering children, corrupting a child with drugs, drug trafficking within a school zone, and drug possession,”

    relating to her arrest.

Despite a judge’s ruling to have Barrientos’s bond reduced from $750,000 to $500,000, prosecutors sought to increase it to $1 million following the latest charges. The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office also revealed that Barrientos has an extensive criminal rap sheet, including convictions for drug-related offenses and money laundering.

After serving time in prison for money laundering on behalf of her boyfriend, Deangelo ‘D-Lo’ Tellis, who is currently serving a 15-year sentence for corrupt activity and narcotics trafficking, Barrientos allegedly returned to the drug trafficking scene. For almost a year, detectives from the Zanesville/Muskingum County Joint Drug Unit and CODE Task Force closely monitored her

    “drug operation,”

    observing

“the gradual reintroduction of her boyfriend’s Columbus-based associates to the Muskingum County area.”

According to prosecutors, based on the evidence gathered during the investigation, authorities conducted a traffic stop on Barrientos’ vehicle on Monday. This occurred while she was en route to Zanesville in an attempt to regain custody of one of her children.

“Children’s Services arrived at the stop because Barrientos had other children with her who needed to be placed in proper care. While sorting through the children’s care items, caseworkers found a large quantity of suspected suboxone strips which had been individually bagged for distribution,”

    the release states.

“Suboxone is a street drug of abuse marketed by pharmaceutical companies as an alternative to opiates. The drugs planted on the child have an estimated prison value of $30,000.”

A 5-year-old Indiana boy who fatally shot his baby brother was reportedly high on cocaine at the time of the shooting. Medical examiners also found marijuana in the victim’s system, prosecutors said per the NY Post

The boys’ parents, Deonta Jermaine Johnson, 27, and Shatia Tiara Welch, 24 were hit with additional charges for neglect and drugs, Tuesday. Police obtained

“93 fentanyl pills as well as marijuana and drug paraphernalia”

    inside the couple’s apartment.

Their 16-month-old son died from a gunshot wound to the head after his older brother retrieved a loose gun from the residence. Johnson told police he was napping on the couch and

    “heard a boom”

sound before discovering his 16-month-old boy dead, according to a probable cause affidavit. The mother admitted that the firearm was hers but said she usually kept it in a locked box under her bed.

Prosecutors revealed that the deceased toddler had marijuana in his system, along with his brother who also tested positive for cocaine.

  • Five High School Educators Charged With Failing To Report Abuse Of 15-Year-Old Girl, Police Say

Five High School Educators Charged With Failing To Report Abuse Of 15-Year-Old Girl, Police Say

A Florida high school principal and four staffers were arrested after failing to alert authorities about the alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old student, NY Post reported.

Palm Beach Central High School Principal Darren Edgecomb, 58, assistant principal Dan Snider, 49, assistant principal Nereyda Garcia, 37, chorus teacher Scott Houchins, 53, and school behavioral therapist Priscilla Carter were all arrested for their involvement in neglecting to report the abuse.

The adults were reportedly informed about the incident on June 16, 2021, after the girl’s friend wrote a letter alleging that the victim had been assaulted by two male students, CBS 12 reported.

According to the letter the victim,

“has had many problems with guys and has been sexually assaulted by two of them,”

with the friend confessing that they had witnessed the suspects

“not taking no for an answer.”

The letter also said that the 15-year-old was suffering from anxiety and panic attacks due to the assault, which was leading her to commit

    “self-harm.”

The letter was never reported to the Department of Children and Families, which is mandated by state law, according to the affidavit. During a meeting held on August 19, 2021, a month after the assault was reported by the victim’s friend, Garcia said the student’s parents should be responsible for telling the state, according to the charging documents.

One staffer even claimed to have conducted their own investigation, concluding that no assault had occurred. However, the school did punish one of the boys. When officials asked the staff member why they moved forward in disciplining the child despite no findings, the educator replied that he was

    “aware of how it looks.”

All five administrators were charged with one count of failure to report sexual abuse and were authorized to stay away from the victim, witnesses, and students, reports reveal.

“The allegations involving students occurred off of school property and over a weekend. However, no matter when or where any alleged assault against a student occurs, our policy aligns with the law, which requires all personnel to report suspected abuse,”

    the district added.

Father and Stepmother Arrested After Police Find Six Children ‘Starved Beaten and Locked In Cages’

Las Vegas Metro Police arrested father, Travis Doss, and stepmother, Amanda Stamper after finding young children locked in cages at their residence, reports the NY Post. The children were allegedly battered and starved, police say.

Upon entering the one-bedroom apartment cops found six children, ages 2-11, alone with two dogs. The 11-year-old boy along with his 9-year-old brother were both locked up in separate cages. The 11-year-old had

“two black eyes that were swollen shut, multiple marks and bruises all over his body, and he was emaciated,”

    according to police.

The boy told police he had to share the little food he was given amongst his siblings.

“He kept saying that he was always hungry and that’s why he stole, and then he said, ‘It’s food that’s in the trash, so how is that even stealing?’”

the detective said, according to a grand-jury transcript.

“And he kept saying that he needed big food because he was a big boy now and that he would have to share one large fry from McDonald’s with like all six kids and just that he was never really fed and that’s why he stole,”

    the cop recounted.

Doss, who is the father to seven children, was indicted by a grand jury earlier this month on 40 charges including child abuse, according to court documents obtained by The Post. Amanda Stamper is reportedly the biological mother of the 2-year-old child and stepmother to the others. She was also indicted and faces seven counts of child abuse, reports note.

Stamper’s public defender said she was also a victim of Doss’s abuse and feared for her life.

“If she had done anything, she would’ve been subjected to serious, serious abuse,”

they told the local outlet in June.

Doss was also a rapper who went by the name

    “Trap Montana,”

according to his Instagram posts. Police obtained images of him rapping inside luxury cars, mansions, and casinos on the famed Las Vegas Strip.

Chicago grandparents were charged with murder after brutally beating their 5-year-old granddaughter with a belt for defecating on herself, NY Post reported.

Klent Elwoods, 62, and his wife, Lisa Jones, 57, were arrested for the July 14 killing of 5-year-old Jada Moore. According to prosecutors, the toddler was put through two months of constant beatings. Causing,

“severe contusions most commonly seen in car crash victims,”

    reported CBS Chicago.

The grandparents reportedly had custody of the 5-year-old girl, according to a notarized letter from the mother giving them control over school and medical decisions, police obtained.

The grandfather, Elwoods, called 911 around 11 pm, admitting to a dispatcher,

  • Nebraska Teen Sentenced To 90 Days In Jail After Burning Fetus Following Illegal Abortion, Prosecutors Say

Nebraska Teen Sentenced To 90 Days In Jail After Burning Fetus Following Illegal Abortion, Prosecutors Say

A Nebraska teen was sentenced to 90 days in jail after getting an illegal late-term abortion with her mother’s assistance, reports Insider

Celeste Burgess, 19, pleaded guilty in May to

“one count of removing, concealing, or abandoning a dead body,”

as part of a plea deal according to News Channel Nebraska Central. Burgess who was 17 at the time had help from her mother, Jessica Burgess, to abort her fetus at 24 weeks.

The 41-year-old mother had provided her daughter with abortion pills to induce a stillbirth in April of last year. In Facebook messages sent from the teen to her mother

“she talks about how she can’t wait to get the ‘thing’ out of her body,”

a detective wrote in court documents.

“I will finally be able to wear jeans,”

she says in one of the messages.

Celeste had reportedly lied to investigators claiming she had miscarried and had a burial for the baby. However, according to Tanner Barnhill, 22, who was an accomplice in the crime, the mother-daughter duo tried to burn the fetus before burying it on his parent’s property.

    The mother pleaded guilty to

“providing an illegal abortion, false reporting, and tampering with human remains,”

    Insider reported.

Before the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June, states were allowed to perform abortions up until the fetus is deemed viable outside the womb,

    “at roughly 24 weeks”

(6 months). The Nebraska abortion limit has since been decreased from 20 to 12 weeks in May this year, according to PBS.

18-Year-Old Escapes Kidnappers Home After Being Chained To Bed and Raped For Weeks

A Texas couple is behind bars after they allegedly abducted an 18-year-old woman, kept her chained to a bed inside their home, and raped her for weeks, authorities said per The Post

Jose Reyes, 31, and Jaqueline Macias, 29, were arrested Sunday night after the teen managed to flee their Houston home by climbing out of a window. The victim went knocking on neighbors’ doors who alerted police.

The victim told officers that she had met the male suspect at an unspecified location almost a month ago and he’d convinced her to come to his house, Harris County Constable Mark Herman told the outlet.

“The whole script flipped almost immediately, and she was immediately held captive, tied up, and held in a room for approximately 30 days,”

    Herman told a press conference.

“At some point after they basically started holding her against her will, they began sexually assaulting her and other things. Just a very, very evil thing.”

The young woman was found with marks on her hands and legs, according to Herman. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Her current condition has not been disclosed.

  • $200B Stolen In PPP Loans Was Used On Lamborghinis, Beach Houses and Jewelry, The ‘Worst In History’

$200B Stolen In PPP Loans Was Used On Lamborghinis, Beach Houses and Jewelry, The ‘Worst In History’

According to the Small Business Administration’s Office of Inspector General, tens of thousands of PPP loan fraudsters used the funds to purchase luxury goods including Lamborghinis, vacation homes, private jet flights, and Cartier jewelry to name a few. The country lost an estimated $200 billion in COVID relief funds due to the system being so easy to manipulate, says the NY Post

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress issued $1.2 trillion in 2020 and 2021 in COVID relief funds for businesses through the Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program (EIDLP) and the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).

According to the SBA, they have estimated over 90,000

    “actionable leads,”

including several celebrities who participated in the COVID loan schemes.

“The fraud was so easy to commit. All of the information was self-reported and none of it was verified or checked,”

Haywood Talcove of LexisNexis Risk Solutions told The Post.

“During the height of the pandemic, it was really hard to purchase [luxury] items like a Rolls-Royce, or a high-end Mercedes because you had people walking in with cash from the PPP program to purchase those items for whatever the dealer was asking,”

    Talcove said.

Former NFL player Josh Bellamy was one of the many PPP loan scammers. He reportedly collected a $1.2 million loan for his company, Drip Entertainment LLC, in 2021 after falsifying documents and providing false information.

The Jets wide receiver later confessed that he used the money to pay for a stay at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and jewelry. He also admitted to dishing out more than $311,000 to a reported accomplice.

Baby Blue of Pretty Ricky was released from prison earlier this year after serving a year of his 20-month sentence for PPP fraud. Blue was accused of

“filing fake applications to obtain funds through the U.S. Paycheck Protection Program,”

reports reveal. He now owes over a million dollars in restitution.
