  • Man Taken into Custody for Allegedly Shooting at Driver Who Denied Last-Minute Merge, Police Say

Man Taken into Custody for Allegedly Shooting at Driver Who Denied Last-Minute Merge, Police Say

A 53-year-old Missouri man, Roy L. Anderson Jr., was arrested for allegedly shooting into a car’s passenger door after the driver refused to let him cut in bumper-to-bumper traffic, per Law&Crime. He faces multiple felony charges, including first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

According to court documents, Kansas City police responded to a road rage incident last week where Anderson was found waiting for them, holding a 9 mm handgun. He initially claimed he heard a gunshot and fired into the air, but later contradicted himself, suggesting the other driver had a gun as well.

The victim reported that while merging due to construction, he was hit by a soda can thrown by Anderson, who then fired a shot in his direction. Police found a bullet hole in the victim’s car and a spent casing in Anderson’s vehicle.

Anderson was booked and released on a $7,500 bond with a court order to avoid contact with the victim and firearms. He is scheduled to appear in court again on June 11.

  • Missouri Father Sentenced To 13 Years Behind Bars After Shooting Youth Football Coach Over Son’s Playing Time

Missouri Father Sentenced To 13 Years Behind Bars After Shooting Youth Football Coach Over Son’s Playing Time

A Missouri father received 13-years behind bars for shooting a youth football coach, Shaquille Latimore, over his son’s playing time while children practiced close by back in October 2023. 45-year-old Daryl Clemmons was convicted of assault in last month’s trial, per the New York Post. Reports noted that both men carried a firearm.

Prosecutors say the coach gave his firearm to a friend and suggested a fistfight with Clemmons, who refused and later shot Latimore five times instead. After fleeing, Clemmons turned himself into officials later that evening. St. Louis officials suspended the team due to ongoing adult-related incidents despite Latimore believing that this was unfair.

The defense claimed self-defense and sought a new trial. The St. Louis Circuit Attorney said the men argued about Clemmon’s son’s playing time.

Gabe Gore, Circuit Attorney, said in a statement following the verdict, “Violence, especially in youth sports, is completely unacceptable and undermines the purpose of these programs — teaching teamwork, discipline, and respect.”

Man Found Guilty of Shooting His Son’s Football Coach Following Dispute Over Playing Time

A Missouri man is facing charges for allegedly shooting a youth football coach after becoming angry about his son’s playing time, according to authorities reported by PEOPLE

Daryl B. Clemmons, 45, was convicted of assault and armed criminal action concerning the shooting that occurred in 2023, as stated in a press release from the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office on Friday, Feb. 28. Prosecutors revealed that Clemmons shot 34-year-old Shaquille Latimore, a volunteer coach for the City Rec Legends Football League.

The incident occurred after a heated verbal exchange regarding the playing time Clemmons’s son received during a practice game in the Kingsway West neighborhood on October 10, 2023. According to the prosecution, both men were armed during the altercation, but Latimore handed his gun to a friend, suggesting they should “fight with fists.” It was at that moment that Clemmons shot Latimore five times before fleeing the scene. Clemmons later surrendered to the police on the same day.

According to the release, a group of children were playing in the vicinity when the shooting took place. During the trial, Latimore, who survived the incident, testified that Clemmons kept firing at him even after he had fallen to the ground, as reported by KTVI. In his defense, Clemmons claimed in court that he shot Latimore in self-defense after Latimore challenged him to fight, according to the outlet.

“Violence, especially in youth sports, is completely unacceptable and undermines the purpose of these programs — teaching teamwork, discipline, and respect,” Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore said in the release. “This could easily have been a lethal encounter for the coach as well as for the children and family members present. Unfortunately, the trauma of this event will not be easily forgotten by all those who witnessed it.”

An elderly man from Missouri has been arrested after admitting to the tragic killing of his sick wife, reports the NY Post. It is alleged that 76-year-old Ronnie Wiggs suffocated his wife by covering her mouth and strangling her with his hands while she lay in a hospital bed.

The incident occurred at the Centerpoint Medical Center, where his wife, who was not named in court documents, was receiving treatment for a dialysis port replacement. When authorities arrived at the scene in response to reports of an assault, they discovered the woman unresponsive and without a pulse. Witnesses also noticed

  • An All-White Missouri School Board Approves Removal Of Black History Classes

An All-White Missouri School Board Approves Removal Of Black History Classes

The Francis Howell School Board in Missouri, which had previously voted to revoke an anti-discrimination resolution, has now voted to eliminate elective Black history and literature classes, according to Huff Post

During a meeting on Thursday night, the seven-member board, all of whom are white, voted 5-2 in favor of discontinuing these courses. The classes had been available at the district’s three high schools since 2021, according to KSDK.

In July, the board, which is led by conservatives, canceled an anti-racism resolution that was approved in 2020 after the death George Floyd, who was killed at the hands of law enforcement. The resolution, which made a pledge to

“speak firmly against any racism, discrimination, and senseless violence against people regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, immigration status, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or ability,”

    was removed from school buildings.

According to The Associated Press, the resolution and classes were opposed by five newly appointed board members who received support from the conservative political action committee Francis Howell Families. As stated on their website, their main concerns are about

    “critical race theory”

    and

    “inappropriate books in children’s libraries.”

  • Live Fly Found Inside Missouri Man’s Intestines During Routine Colonoscopy, Doctors Say

Live Fly Found Inside Missouri Man’s Intestines During Routine Colonoscopy, Doctors Say

Doctors in Missouri were shocked when they discovered a live fly buzzing around a 63-year-old man’s intestines. The encounter took place during a routine colon cancer screening, where a camera was inserted into the patient’s intestines, known as a colonoscopy, per the Daily Mail.

According to the doctors, everything seemed normal during the procedure until they reached the

    “transverse colon,”

the upper part of the large intestine, where they made the startling discovery of a fully intact fly. The medical experts called it a

    “mystery”

as they tried to determine how the insect ended up in such an unusual location. One explanation they gave was that the patient could have eaten contaminated lettuce the day before his appointment.

The patient was questioned, but claimed to have no idea how the insect made its way into his colon. Fortunately, he experienced no symptoms that would suggest a fly was living inside his body. The patient told doctors that he had strictly followed the required instructions of a clear liquid diet on the day before his colonoscopy, which is meant to cleanse the intestinal tract.

However, the evening before his 24-hour fast, he had consumed a pizza and lettuce, but he denied any recollection of a fly being near his food.

Flies and their larvae can invade the human intestine in a condition called intestinal myiasis, reports reveal. These eggs can withstand the acid in the stomach and then infest the intestines, where they grow and potentially change into adult flies. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), some affected individuals do not experience any symptoms, while others may suffer from stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea.

It remains unclear what specific food the man consumed that was infested with fly larvae.
