A 53-year-old Missouri man, Roy L. Anderson Jr., was arrested for allegedly shooting into a car’s passenger door after the driver refused to let him cut in bumper-to-bumper traffic, per Law&Crime. He faces multiple felony charges, including first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
According to court documents, Kansas City police responded to a road rage incident last week where Anderson was found waiting for them, holding a 9 mm handgun. He initially claimed he heard a gunshot and fired into the air, but later contradicted himself, suggesting the other driver had a gun as well.
The victim reported that while merging due to construction, he was hit by a soda can thrown by Anderson, who then fired a shot in his direction. Police found a bullet hole in the victim’s car and a spent casing in Anderson’s vehicle.
Anderson was booked and released on a $7,500 bond with a court order to avoid contact with the victim and firearms. He is scheduled to appear in court again on June 11.
