2 Men Charged for Allegedly Attempting to Dig Up Relatives Grave at Missouri Cemetery

According to the St. Louis County Prosecutors Office, two individuals have been charged after an incident involving an attempted grave excavation at a cemetery in Missouri, per Fox News

Jimmie V. Allen and Zebulun Nash, both 73 years old, were apprehended in August while digging dirt out of a gravesite at Washinton Park Cemetery in Berkeley, Missouri. As per KSDK-TV, Nash confessed to authorities that he intended to relocate his grandmother’s remains, with Allen assisting him.

However, Missouri law mandates a state order for exhumation, leading to both men being charged on Wednesday for attempting to damage or deface cemetery property, as reported by KSDK. Witness Kiesha Wayne told the local outlet that one of the men

“said that they paid somebody to dig up the body, but they got ripped off, so they took it upon themselves to dig up the body.“

Apparently, the deceased relative was supposed to be moved to another cemetery, reports reveal.

Berkeley Police Chief, Art Jackson, told the station that he was

    “amazed”

    and in his

“twenty-nine years of doing this work, we’ve never had any issues or incidents like that,”

    he added.

Both men are scheduled to appear in court next month.

  • Teacher Fired After Posting TikToks Where He Joked About Deceiving Students and Passing Gas On Them

Teacher Fired After Posting TikToks Where He Joked About Deceiving Students and Passing Gas On Them

A teacher in Kansas City, Missouri, has been fired from his job after posting TikTok videos that suggested he intentionally told students wrong information and farted on them if they

    “annoyed”

    him, reports Insider

Stephen Taylor taught history and product design at the Mill Creek Campus alternative school. When he’s off the clock Taylor said he pursues his true passion which is comedy.

He would film videos in his classroom after school hours. The videos included Taylor admitting to sharing incorrect information with students and sometimes

    “crop dusting,”

    or

    “farting”

on them. He also discussed topics about students using drug-related language.

Taylor told Insider that he planned on quitting his teaching job in 2024 to focus on his comedy career and was using TikTok to build his online presence.

At first, the principal advised Taylor against filming on school property, but Taylor did not follow the advice and ended up on administrative leave.

He eventually took down the videos but was still terminated. The school district cited violations of their social media policy and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act as the reasons for his dismissal.

“Online communication should meet the standards of professional interactions expected at school or among the school community,”

said a letter from the HR department addressed to Taylor.

Taylor fired back at school administrators,  calling their school policy

    “vague.”

    He told Insider,

“I think the social media policy is too vague to violate. It’s a catch-all clause that allows them to ‘pick and choose’ who’s in the wrong based on their opinions, which are usually self-serving.”

A police officer in Missouri is now facing serious charges after allegedly entering a Halloween party for children and yelling,

“You are all going to die,”

before firing multiple shots in the air, police said per Insider

Matthew McCulloch, an off-duty officer with the St. Louis County Police, has been charged with 11 felonies, including endangering the welfare of children and first-degree terrorist threat, according to court documents.

The incident took place on October 15, at a

    “Trunk-or-Treat”

event attended by numerous parents and children.

McCulloch reportedly approached several people at the party before making threats towards a man and his wife. In response, the man pushed McCulloch forcefully in the chest, which made him fall. McCulloch then,

Missouri Woman Battles For Over 15 Years To prove Her Existence After Being Wrongly Declared Dead, Says ‘Everything Has Been Stripped From Me’

A Missouri woman is locked in a battle to prove her existence after being mistakenly declared dead over 15 years ago, reports PEOPLE. Madeline-Michelle Carthen’s life took a turn when she was denied financial aid for college due to her Social Security number indicating her death.

The issue initially arose in November 2006, but Carthen only became aware when her university informed her four months later. CNN stepped in to assist after her story gained media attention in 2007, leading Carthen to discover that her records were stored in a

    “deceased warehouse”

at the Social Security Administration in Washington, D.C. She had been added to the Death Master File, a database that catalogs the records of deceased individuals with Social Security numbers.

This classification resulted in the cancellation of her existence according to the IRS, banks, and Medicare. Investigations suggest that around 12,000 Americans are wrongfully declared dead by the government annually. While the SSA has reached out to Carthen to assist with her case, she has received six inaccurate death letters in the 16 years since the mistake occurred.

Despite reaching out to four U.S. presidents and other government officials, her efforts have been met with limited responses. In 2019, she filed a lawsuit, but it was dismissed on the grounds of sovereign immunity. In 2021, she changed her name and obtained a new Social Security number, but each step forward has been met with setbacks. As a result, Carthen, now 52 years old, has been unable to vote or maintain a steady job for an extended period.

“I’m in Missouri, but I’m back and forth [between here and Tennessee],”

    she tells PEOPLE.

“I had to give up my home. I don’t have a place to stay. I can’t get a mortgage… Everything has been stripped from me,”

    she says.

    “I’m blocked.”

Grandfather Arrested After Confessing To The Fatal Shooting Of His 16-Year-Old Grandson

A grandfather from Missouri has allegedly admitted to shooting and killing his 16-year-old grandson, reports FOX. Thomas Ribby, 70, reportedly shot Royce Hayes Osburn in a home in Clinton, Missouri. The police were told by Ribby that he didn’t realize the gun was loaded, but the family is perplexed as to why he aimed it at his grandson in the first place. There had been previous conflicts between Ribby and Osburn, but the family and witnesses never expected it would end in tragedy.

According to charging documents, Ribby had given Osburn a gun to toy with earlier that evening. A bystander claimed that they saw Osburn playing with the firearm and pretending to

    “clear rooms.”

After the alleged shooting, Osburn went to his mother, Melissa Ribby, clutching his chest and said,

    “papa shot me.”

    Melissa Ribby tearfully shared,

“My baby died in my arms.”

Thomas Ribby locked himself in his apartment when officials arrived. Melissa Ribby expressed her anger and pain, stating,

“I don’t even want to see him. He’s not my dad. He’s not my dad at all.”

She believes her child deserved better and that if Ribby wanted to kill someone, he should have done it to himself.

Osburn’s family revealed that it was the 16-year-old’s dream to become a police officer one day. Ribby is currently being held at the Henry County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash-only bond. He is facing charges of first-degree murder, endangering the welfare of a child, and resisting arrest.

  • Man Dies After Consuming Raw Oysters Sold At Missouri Seafood Stand, Health Officials Announced

Man Dies After Consuming Raw Oysters Sold At Missouri Seafood Stand, Health Officials Announced

A 54-year-old man passed away after eating raw oysters at a seafood stand in St. Louis, Missouri, per Insider

St. Louis County Health Department says his death is linked to a bacteria called Vibrio vulnificus, which can be carried by oysters and other shellfish. The bacteria sometimes turns up in warm, coastal waters, typically during the summer months, reports note.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, reportedly ate raw oysters from the Fruit Stand & Seafood in Manchester, Missouri, sometime in the past week, according to an investigation. He was being treated at a local hospital but later died, Thursday.

County health officials warned citizens who bought oysters from the establishment to throw them out. The county revealed that the oysters had been contaminated before the business received them.

“All remaining oysters in the establishment were embargoed by health officials as investigators attempt to determine the source of the oysters in question,”

reports state. According to health officials,

“symptoms of vibriosis, the disease caused by the bacteria, can include abdominal cramping, nausea, vomiting, fever, and chills.”

It is rare for one to die from vibriosis unless they suffer from a weakened immune system. Doctors instruct anyone who has eaten raw oysters and starts experiencing any symptoms to seek medical attention immediately.

  • High School Student Suspended After Recording Teacher Saying The N-Word, District Spokesman Says Student’s Actions Were ‘Unacceptable’

High School Student Suspended After Recording Teacher Saying The N-Word, District Spokesman Says Student’s Actions Were ‘Unacceptable’

A Glendale High School student, Mary Walton, from Missouri has been suspended for three days after recording her white teacher saying the N-word, according to the New York Post. Although the unidentified teacher was suspended and later resigned, the student also faced backlash due to inappropriately utilizing her phone in class.

The suspension left the student’s mother, Kate Wellborn,

    “shocked.”

    Wellborn said,

“To punish someone in this situation who does the right thing, it’s absurd.”

The video showed the teacher uttering the racial slur twice, as the educator debated with another student if it was appropriate to use the word.  The student revealed that the teacher said the slur 6 times, four of those times were before she began filming.

In the video, the teacher says,

“I don’t like the word, at all… I don’t know. It feels like when a black person is using it towards another black person, it’s the same. How is it not still a derogatory word?”

He then responded to a student who asked a question, saying,

“Is the word n— not allowed?”

    One student then says,

“I’m just saying right now, as a teacher, if you want to keep your job … This isn’t a threat from me.”

    The teacher then responds,

“I’m not calling anyone a n—…..I can say the word.

The student shared the video with school officials; however, didn’t upload the video to social media. The school’s principal, Joshua Groves, informed school staff as well as parents that the verbiage utilized by the teacher wasn’t appropriate. The educator, who worked for the district since 2008, resigned earlier in the week.

The district’s spokesman pointed out the student’s actions, labeling it as

    “unacceptable,”

    as it is considered a

    “violation of privacy,”

to film students and teachers, per the student handbook.

  • 78-Year-Old Woman Arrested After Being Accused Of Robbing A Bank For The Third Time Since 1977

78-Year-Old Woman Arrested After Being Accused Of Robbing A Bank For The Third Time Since 1977

An elderly woman in Missouri, who has a prior record of robbing banks, was apprehended on Wednesday for attempting to rob another bank in Pleasant Hill, officials say, reports Fox. Cops at the Pleasant Hill Police Department responded to the bank robbery close to 3:20 p.m. at the Goppert Financial Bank.

Officials later located 78-year-old Bonnie Gooch during a traffic stop, where she was apprehended without incident. However, according to Fox 4, this isn’t the elderly woman’s first rodeo when it comes to robbing banks. Back in 2020, Gooch, who was 75 years old at the time was taken into custody in Lee’s Summit for robbing a bank and was later convicted. Her sentence was suspended and her supervised probation ended in Nov 2021.

For the most recent robbery, Gooch was charged with stealing or attempted stealing from a financial institution, as her bond has been set at $25,000. Officials say that the woman used a similar technique as the robbery in 2020, by giving a note to the bank staff.

The news outlet went on to say that the criminal complaint in 2020 highlighted that Gooch was also convicted of robbing a bank 46 years ago in California.
