New York Mother Distraught After 13-Year-Old Son Stabs Sister Multiple Times

A 13-year-old in Queens is facing assault charges after stabbing his 14-year-old sister multiple times inside their home Saturday night, the New York Post reported.

Investigators say that during an argument between the two, the unnamed 13-year-old stabbed his sister with a steak knife, and then called 911 to report “somebody with a knife breaking into the house.” Despite suffering wounds to her back, legs, thighs, arms, and face, the victim was able to point to her brother as the attacker.

Rupiah Begum, the mother of the teenagers, is distraught about what has occurred. The mother of five says she was at work, five minutes away from the house, when she received a call that her son had attacked her daughter. Her husband, and the children’ father, was away on a trip to Bangladesh.

“I don’t know what happened,” Begum told The Post in an interview. “Everything is good usually. They play together. No problems usually.”

Begum says that immediately following the incident, the young suspect called her, stating that something was wrong and that he was angry. The reasoning for the attack remains unclear, but investigators were told by the child that the stabbing was the result of her “bothering him.” No additional information has been released.

“He screams a lot and there’s, you know, there’s a lot of yelling,” one of their neighbors explained. “They came here three years ago. Nicest neighbors we ever had. Never any trouble at all.”

The victim is alive, but is in critical conditions. She is currently being treated at Jamaica Hospital, while her brother and attacker remains in police custody.

  • Woman Sentenced To 25 Years To Life After Fatally Shooting Man Whose Will She Forged To Take His Home

Woman Sentenced To 25 Years To Life After Fatally Shooting Man Whose Will She Forged To Take His Home

Donatila O’Mahony, 43, has been sentenced to 25 years to life after murdering 69-year-old Lee Pedersen and then forging his will to take over his home, reports FOX

Raymond A. Tierney, Suffolk County District Attorney said,

“This was a cold-blooded killing fueled by greed, treachery, and the complete disregard for Lee Pedersen’s life, all in order to steal the victim’s home. The only new home this defendant will be living in as a result of her actions, is prison.”

The DA says that Pederson’s body was discovered with a gunshot in the back of his head at his home in Aquebogue, New York back on March 8, 2020. Police searched his home and discovered that his personal belongings were missing, which included his phone, car keys, and money. Officials who were investigating went through cell phone records and surveillance video as well as interviewed the victim’s friends as well as O’Mahony. Officials learned that the suspect requested for a friend to purchase her a handgun and on the night the victim was killed, the woman borrowed the same friend’s vehicle as the car was discovered on footage near the victim’s home on the night he was killed. Hours after the murder, the vehicle was located at O’Mahony home.

Tierney said when O’Mahony got back home, she requested for her friend to remove the gun, her clothing, as well as the ammunition. Although the friend managed to destroy everything, officials discovered a bag of ammunition that the woman’s friend kept. Once the bag was retrieved by officials, they

    “swabbed for DNA”

and sent it to be tested, reports FOX. The test showed DNA from both the woman and victim.

The investigation later discovered that O’Mahony possessed a forged will that said the victim will give her his home; however, the real will that was recovered didn’t disclose that information.

Teacher ‘Forced’ and ‘Manipulated’ 5th Grader To Become Transgender, Causing The Student ‘Suicidal Ideation’, Lawsuit Says

Parents have filed a lawsuit against a New York teacher and the school district for allegedly attempting to

    “manipulate” and “force”

their 5th-grade daughter to change her gender without parental consent which caused the child

    “confusion” and “suicidal ideation,”

the lawsuit alleged per Fox News

Debra Rosenquist, a teacher at the Terryville Road Elementary School in the Brookhaven-Comsewogue School District, was named along with the superintendent, Jennifer J. Quinn, and the principal, Annemarie V. Sciove, in a suit filed on Jan. 23.

    The lawsuit claims that Rosenquist

    “targeted” and “harassed”

the young girl throughout the 2021-2022 school year, purposely calling the student by male names and pronouns, the suit said.

“As a result, [the student] became confused as to her gender. Despite knowing about Rosenquist’s conduct…, it took the District, [Superintendent] Quinn, and [Principal] Sciove months to inform [her parents] about it,”

the suit said. The lawsuit also alleged that

“Rosenquist pursued her own agenda outside the curriculum, which included persuading her 5th-grade students to try ‘being gay’ or being another gender even when they were not. To further her agenda, Rosenquist read and provided her student’s graphic books about gender and sexuality which were not on the curriculum.”

The 5th-grade girl who was born a female and identifies as female became so

“distressed by Rosenquist’s referring to her as a male that she drew a picture of a girl and referenced suicide,”

according to the lawsuit. In January 2022, the parents were notified that their daughter drew a picture of a girl with the words

    “I wanna kill myself”

    and

“I feel sad like a lot.”

Brookhaven-Comsewogue School District was reportedly informed of Rosenquist actions, as they were allegedly reported to the District. The Superintendent told the outlet that they are conducting a

“thorough investigation and consultation with our attorney, action is [being] taken in accordance with applicable laws and collective bargaining agreements. “

Nurse Captured On Video Slamming Newborn Onto Bassinet Has Been Fired

A New York woman has lost her job as a NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) nurse after a patient’s father captured footage of her slamming the baby’s face into a bassinet while changing his diaper, NBC New York reported.

A two-day-old infant, Nikko, was at Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip on Long Island being treated with antibiotics. Excited first time dad, Fidel Sinclair, began filming him through partially drawn curtains, and was horrified with what he saw. In the video taken by Sinclair’s phone, a NICU nurse is seen forcefully flipping the baby from onto his back to his stomach on the bassinet.

“I’m happy I was there,” Sinclair said in an interview. “God sent me. If it wasn’t for God. . . We would have never seen none of that happen. And that would have kept happening through the night- not only to him, but to the other babies too.”

Consuelo Saravia, Nikko’s mother, was horrified with what she saw. She spent many nights crying, and struggled to sleep knowing that her newborn could have been hurt in the care of people she was supposed to trust.

After being shown the video, Saravia confronted the nurse, yelling her that she was to stay away from Nikko. “I told her, ‘I don’t want you to touch my child! You just slammed him,’” she recalled. “She said, ‘Oh, no! If you think I mishandled him or anything, I’m sorry.’”

The two concerned parents, immediately spoke to administrators, showing them the camera footage. A spokesperson for the organization that operates the hospital says an investigation was immediately conducted, and that the nurse was both terminated from her position and reported to the Department of Health. “Keeping our patients safe remains our paramount concern,” they said in the statement.

Bronx Grandmother Arrested For Stabbing 7-Year-Old Granddaughter In The Neck

On Tuesday morning, officers from the New York Police Department rushed to a Bronx apartment complex, after receiving reports of an injured child. According to CBS News, a 7-year-old girl had been stabbed in the neck. Her own grandmother was arrested for the attack.

“We just seen the cop running out with the child,” said neighbor Ana Martinez. “The child was full of blood. We didn’t even know what was really going on, and what was happening at the moment.”

Martinez, who operates an in-home daycare center five doors from where the stabbing has taken place, struggles to process what has occurred.

“It’s terrible to think that a human being would even do this to a child,” Martinez said. “I’ll be praying for that child.”

Officers at the scene say that the suspect, 65-year-old Martiza Yauger, appeared to be emotionally disturbed and mentally unstable. She has since been taken into police custody and charged with attempted murder, attempted manslaughter, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child.

The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital, and spent many hours in surgery. She currently remains in critical condition, but is expected to survive her injuries. Authorities have yet to reveal what may have triggered the attack.

  • Woman Charged After Poisoning Cheesecake In Plot To Kill Look-Alike and Steal Her Identity, Officials Say

Woman Charged After Poisoning Cheesecake In Plot To Kill Look-Alike and Steal Her Identity, Officials Say

A woman from New York has allegedly given her look-alike poised cheesecake to try and kill her and possess her identity, according to prosecutors, reports the Miami Herald. The incident occurred when 47-year-old Viktoria Nasyrova of Brooklyn, went to the 35-year-old woman’s home, Olga Tsvyk, back in Aug. 2016. According to BBC, Tsvyk was Nasyrova’s beautician.

Officials say both women looked alike as they had comparable physical appearances and both women spoke Russian. When Nasyrova arrived at her look-alike’s home she gave her cheesecake and not too long afterward, Tsvyk began to feel ill and later became unconscious. The victim’s last memory was witnessing the 47-year-old woman strolling around her home.

When the victim left the hospital, she noticed that personal documents of value were missing, including her employment authorization card and passport.

Homeland Security agents later learned the cheesecake contained poison in it after gathering and running tests of the cake’s remains in the cheesecake container. Phenazepam, a sedative, was put in the cheesecake.

“Nasyrova is a fugitive from Russia, wanted for the 2014 murder of a woman there,”

prosecutors said during a jury trial, reports CBS. After the trial, Nasyrova was declared guilty of multiple charges, which included attempted murder in the second-degree, and second-degree assault. The woman is set to be sentenced on March 21 as she can face up to 25 years behind bars.

Melinda Katz, Queens District Attorney said,

“The jury saw through the deception and schemes of the defendant. She laced a slice of cheesecake with a deadly drug so she could steal her unsuspecting victim’s most valuable possession, her identity.”

  • Middle School Issues Apology For ‘Cultural Insensitivity After Serving Chicken, Waffles, and Watermelon During Black History Month

Middle School Issues Apology For ‘Cultural Insensitivity After Serving Chicken, Waffles, and Watermelon During Black History Month

Aramark, a food-service vendor, is currently under fire after serving a stereotypical meal to students for Black History Month, according to PEOPLE. The incident occurred on Feb. 1 when middle schoolers from Nyack Middle school in Nyack, New York were served chicken and waffles with watermelon for lunch. The school claims that the food-service vendor switched the meal that was initially supposed to be served. The school says the change came without proper notice from the vendor.

Principal David Johnson penned in a letter,

“We are extremely disappointed by this regrettable situation and apologize to the entire Nyack community for the cultural insensitivity displayed by our food service provider. I am disappointed that Aramark would serve items that differed from the published monthly menu. Especially items that reinforce negative stereotypes concerning the African-American Community.”

The food-service vendor detailed the encounter as a

    “mistake”

and issued an apology, which said,

“While our menu was not intended as a cultural meal, we acknowledge that the timing was inappropriate, and our the team should have been more thoughtful in its service.”

    The vendor continued,

“This was a mistake and does not represent the values of our company, and we are committed to doing better in the future.”

The statement added that Aramark will team up with the school district

“so employees who work in the schools participate in training that aligns to the Nyack School District’s vision and commitment to equity-driven work. We believe this will provide a good learning opportunity to deepen understanding on the impact of systemic biases and negative stereotypes concerning the African-American Community.”

However, this isn’t the first time Aramark has served meals to students that reinforce stereotypes. Back in 2018, Aramark served NYU students a Black History Month Menu that included ribs, mac and cheese, red Kool-Aid, yams, collard greens, and cornbread. This sparked anger in students causing the college to stop using the company as their food vendor.

  • New Jersey Man Hired Hitman To Kill A 14-Year-Old So She Couldn’t Testify Against Him In Child Pornography Case

New Jersey Man Hired Hitman To Kill A 14-Year-Old So She Couldn’t Testify Against Him In Child Pornography Case

A New Jersey man is facing up to 10 years in prison after hiring a hitman and paying $20,000 in Bitcoin to kill a 14-year-old, The New York Times reported.

During the summer of 2015, John Michael Musbach began exchanging sexually explicit photographs and videos with a then-13-year-old victim that lived in New York. After the victim’s family discovered the inappropriate relationship, they notified police. In March 2016, he was finally arrested on child pornography charges.

After he was released on bond, Musbach wanted to have his victim killed to prevent her from testifying against him in the pending criminal case. He then “repeatedly communicated with the administrator of a murder-for-hire website” on the dark web, which requires cryptocurrency payments, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey said in a release. “Musbach asked if a 14-year-old was too young to target, and upon hearing that the age was not a problem, paid approximately 40 bitcoin (approximately $20,000 at the time) for the hit.”

When Musbach asked when the murder would take place, the website’s administrator asked for an additional $5,000 to secure the hit. Frustrated, Musbach attempted to cancel the transaction and receive a refund. The administer responded by revealing that the site was a scam and threatening to expose Musbach’s information to law enforcement.

On Thursday, Musbach pleaded guilty to one count of knowingly and intentionally using the internet with the intent that a murder be committed. If convicted, Musbach faces up to a decade and prison and a fine of $250,000. His sentencing is scheduled for June 13th.

  • New York Man Sent Estranged Wife Cryptic Message Before Fatally Their Shooting 14-Year-Old Daughter: “This Is How It sends For Us”

New York Man Sent Estranged Wife Cryptic Message Before Fatally Their Shooting 14-Year-Old Daughter: “This Is How It sends For Us”

Throughout the month of January, Heather Wood received multiple harassing and threatening text messages from her estranged husband, Christopher Wood. Though she was still legally married to the 51-year-old, they were legally separated and living apart. According to People, Christopher was confronted by police for stalking, but Heather regretfully never pressed charges. Ava, their daughter and a ninth-grader at Durgee Junior High School, went back and forth between her parents’ homes.

On January 20th, Mrs. Wood received a call from Ava’s school informing her that her daughter was reported as absent. She immediately recalled a cryptic text she received from her soon-to-be ex the night before that read, “This is how it ends for us.” Frightened, she called police to perform a welfare check, and Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office sent deputies out to Christopher Wood’s New York home.

Inside the home, police discovered the bodies of Christopher and Ava in their rooms, each with fatal gunshot wounds. The murder weapon, a shotgun that was purchased 16 days before the murder-suicide, was found next to Christopher.

Ava, who was an honor student and soccer player, was known for her “competitive spirit and a love for life” as well as “for the strong relationships she had with family and friends,” her obituary reads. In order to support her mother during the tragic loss of her beloved daughter, a GoFundMe that raised over $50,000 was created to pay for the funeral expenses.

“She was kind, gentle, and had the most loving spirit, the fundraiser stated. “She loved her teammates and her friends and shared many memories on and off the field with them. She was deeply adored by her momma, and her family and she instantly stole the hearts of all those around her.”
