Woman Admitted To Falsely Reporting Attempted Rape and Kidnapping That Put An Innocent Man In Jail For A Month, Said She Did It Because He Was ‘Creepy’

A Pennsylvania woman has confessed to fabricating a story about an attempted rape and kidnapping, , according to ABC 27 News. The man she accused spent a month in jail for a crime he did not commit.

As stated in a press release from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, Anjela Borisova Urumova, 20, pleaded guilty on Thursday. She was charged with seven misdemeanor charges related to her false claims that a man assaulted her in April 2024. She plead guilty to one charge of false alarm to an agency of public safety and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, two counts of false reports, and three counts of unsworn falsification to authorities.

Urumova was charged in May 2024 for filing a false police report. She alleged that Daniel Pierson attempted to rape and kidnap her in a Redner’s grocery store parking lot in Middletown Township on April 16, per the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. Following her arrest, Urumova claimed Pierson attacked her from behind, pulled down her pants, and hit her, but she managed to escape.

Urumova Confesses To Wrongfully Accusing Pierson

The criminal complaint revealed that Urumova admitted to wrongfully identifying Pierson because she had previously seen him and his truck in a parking lot, believing he appeared

    “creepy.”

It was also noted that a laceration on her lip, which she claimed was from the attack, actually resulted from an earlier incident.

“Her grandmother, who Urumova claimed suffered from dementia, did not recognize her as she entered the house and threw a plastic object at her, striking her in the lip…”

the criminal complaint said, per WPVI.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office discovered that the story was false during their investigation. “The review led to the discovery of multiple inconsistencies and contradictory information with Urumova’s account of the attack at the Redner’s parking lot,” the release continued. After spending 31 days behind bars, Pierson was released and cleared of all charges against him, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.

  • BBQ Chain Ordered To Pay $2.9M To Customer Who Burned Herself From Their ‘Dangerously Hot’ Sauce

BBQ Chain Ordered To Pay $2.9M To Customer Who Burned Herself From Their ‘Dangerously Hot’ Sauce

A San Antonio restaurant chain must pay $2.9 million in damages after a customer was severely burned by its barbecue sauce, as reported by the NY Post. Genesis Monita, 19, sustained second-degree burns on her thigh after spilling Bill Miller Bar-B-Q’s

    “dangerously hot”

sauce in 2023, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

A Bexar County jury found the restaurant guilty of

    “gross negligence”

on Friday. Monita was awarded $900,000 for her physical and emotional suffering, medical expenses, and lost wages. Additionally, she received $1.8 million in punitive damages, according to Kens 5.

In May 2023, Monita and her sister picked up breakfast tacos at the drive-thru on their way to school and chose to eat them in their car in the restaurant’s parking lot. The barbecue sauce was so hot that Monita dropped the container, causing the sauce to seep through her torn jeans and result in a burn, she alleged. In her lawsuit, she stated that she was never warned that the condiment — which was 189 degrees, far exceeding the 165-degree limit it should have been — was

    “dangerously hot.”

She also claimed it was not in a suitable container to hold it.

    Bill Miller Bar-B-Q Responds

During the trial, Monita and her mother shared that the injury caused her to miss school and work, leading to a period of depression. Lawrence Morales II, an attorney representing Monita, told the jurors that another woman had burned her abdomen with barbecue sauce from the same Bill Miller location. He noted that since these incidents, the company has not implemented any new safety measures.

The restaurant claimed that after Monita’s injury, it provided her with a check for her medical expenses. They also offered to clean her car, and compensated her for lost wages. However, she turned down these offers, per The Independent. They also argued that Monita did not require further medical visits after her initial appointment and that she did not lose her job.

  • Clive Davis Receives Backlash For Hosting Extravagant Pre-Grammy Gala During Deadly L.A. Wildfires

Clive Davis Receives Backlash For Hosting Extravagant Pre-Grammy Gala During Deadly L.A. Wildfires

Music legend Clive Davis‘s annual pre-Grammy gala will proceed as scheduled, even as Los Angeles faces ongoing devastating wildfires, according to Radar Online

Critics have labeled this decision as

    “tone-deaf and self-indulgent.”

While major companies like Sony, Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group, and BMG have canceled their Grammy-week festivities to show support for those affected and the first responders, Davis is moving forward with his event. Many have drawn parallels to the year he continued his glamorous Grammy bash following Whitney Houston’s tragic passing. In defense of his choices, Davis stated on the Larry King Show eleven years ago,

“The Grammy’s for the next night, you don’t cancel. You turn an evening into a tribute.”

Well, it seems Davis has kept his stance, even while facing significant criticism for choosing to prioritize his event over compassion.

“It feels completely out of touch,”

    a music industry insider said.

“Everyone else is stepping back, but Clive’s rolling out the red carpet for celebrities while people are losing everything.”

Although Davis has not addressed the mounting backlash, sources close to the Recording Academy are said to be frustrated by his unwillingness to adapt.

“This isn’t the time for champagne and caviar,”

    another insider said.

    “It’s a time for solidarity, not self-congratulation.”

Additionally, Davis has sidestepped questions regarding his long-standing association with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs amidst recent allegations. Sources close to Davis indicated in 2024 that Combs was

    “always on the list”

for the exclusive gala, despite the surrounding controversy. In contrast, artists like The Weeknd have garnered praise for canceling their plans out of respect for the wildfire victims. The artist chose to cancel his much-anticipated Rose Bowl concert and postpone his album release to concentrate on wildfire relief efforts.

Russian Police Issue Arrest Warrant For Influencer Who Tossed His Two-Month-Old Baby Into Pile Of Snow

Russian authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a Russian social media influencer after a video showing him throwing his baby into a large pile of snow gained widespread attention, per Mirror.

The Basmanny Court in Moscow has authorized the warrant for Sergei Kosenko, widely known as Mr. Thank You, who has more than 46.5 million followers on Instagram. Additionally, the court has ordered the freezing of his assets within Russia. The Russian authorities stated,

“The accused threw the child away from himself and upward, allowing him to fall from a height. The criminal intent was not completed due to the child’s fall being softened by the snow cover.”

The video caught the attention of Russian authorities after it went viral and made international news in January 2024. It shows the influencer tossing his then two-month-old son into the air, with the child landing in a deep snowdrift as the clip ends. In response, Russian authorities have issued an arrest warrant and requested the influencer’s extradition to Russia to face charges.

They have also ordered him to be detained for two months upon his arrival in the country. Sergei Zhorin, the lawyer representing the suspect, informed local media that his client was prepared to cooperate with law enforcement and provide the original video footage. The lawyer asserted that the child was not involved in the filming, claiming the

“video was filmed using a dummy and editing.”

Despite these claims, Russian authorities have placed him on a wanted list for charges of attempted intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm to a minor and failure to fulfill his duties to raise a minor. They have also frozen the influencer’s bank accounts in Russia. If found guilty, Kosenko could face up to 10 years in prison. He is currently residing outside the country.

The robbery took place on Wednesday morning after 8 a.m..

It was outside a store on Curry Ford Road, near the junction of S. Goldenrod Road in Orlando, Florida, as stated by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

  • House Approves Ban On Transgender Students Participating In Girls’ Sports, Citing Fairness and Safety Concerns

House Approves Ban On Transgender Students Participating In Girls’ Sports, Citing Fairness and Safety Concerns

On Tuesday, the House approved a Republican bill that prohibits transgender girls and women from participating in school sports teams that align with their gender identity, a move the party emphasized during the 2024 campaign.

The legislation, referred to as the

“Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act,”

seeks to amend Title IX, the federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in educational settings, by defining a person’s

    “sex”

based solely on their reproductive biology and genetics at birth. Schools that permit

“a person whose sex is male to participate in an athletic program or activity that is designated for women or girls”

could face the loss of federal funding.

The bill was approved in the House with 218 votes in favor, 206 against, and one voting present. Two Texas Democrats, Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez, joined with all Republicans to support the legislation. Democratic Rep. Don Davis from North Carolina voted present.

“An overwhelming majority of Americans believe that men don’t belong in women’s sports and that we must allow common sense to prevail,”

Republican Rep. Greg Steube of Florida, who sponsored the bill, said during the floor debate prior to the vote.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that approximately 3% of high school students identify as transgender. In 2023, House Republicans passed the bill without any Democratic backing. The Senate, then under Democratic control, did not address it.

House Republicans pledged to make the issue a priority again this year after GOP campaigns invested tens of millions in advertisements last year that framed the issue as a threat to girls and women in sports. A similar proposal has been reintroduced in the Republican-controlled Senate. During the floor debate, Republicans contended that these athletes possess biological advantages that create an unfair and unsafe environment for other girls and women.

Florida Woman Pooped On Family Dollar Floor While Her Accomplice Stole $500 Worth Of Cleaning Supplies, Police Say

    Clean up in aisle 5!

Authorities are on the lookout for a couple from Florida involved in a shocking shoplifting operation, per the NY Post. A woman intentionally defecated on the floor of a Family Dollar while her partner made a quick getaway with a cart loaded with hundreds of dollars in cleaning supplies, according to police.

The suspects have humorously been dubbed

    “Mr. Clean”

    and

    “Ms. Dookie”

by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in a statement released on Thursday.

“The suspects were a man and a woman, and they played different roles as they conspired in their retail theft,”

    Sheriff Grady Judd said.

    “Very different roles.”

Authorities reported that the suspected shoplifters entered the Mulberry store around noon on December 18, 2024. They began filling their cart with nearly $500 worth of items, including Gain, Tide, and Clorox products. While the woman created a distraction by popping on the floor, her hooded accomplice casually walked past the cash registers with his overloaded cart, according to police.

Store surveillance footage captured the man making a hasty exit as his partner is seen smirking while leaving through the front door, all while employees looked on in disbelief. The staff was left to clean up the disgusting scene as the brazen couple drove away in a white Ford van, police stated.

  • Tennessee Man Taken Into Custody After Allegedly Shooting At Family Sledding In The Snow, Deputies Say

Tennessee Man Taken Into Custody After Allegedly Shooting At Family Sledding In The Snow, Deputies Say

A Tennessee man is in hot water after reportedly opening fire on a family enjoying some sledding in the snow, claiming that they were trespassing on his property, as stated by the NY Post

Benjamin Cook is facing six counts of aggravated assault related to the incident, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. Additional charges may be filed pending the outcome of the investigation.

The sheriff’s office reported that deputies responded to the 6300 block of Stoney River Drive on Friday after receiving a call about a man firing a gun at a family of six playing in the snow. Initial details from the scene revealed that the parents and their four children had walked down the street to sled down a hill in their neighborhood, according to the deputies.

Around 11:30 a.m., the family heard gunfire coming from a house down the hill near the 10400 block of Birchwood Pike. The mother noticed snow being kicked up just a few feet away from her one-year-old son. The parents quickly turned to the source of the shots and shouted at a man, later identified as Cook, to stop shooting. The man alleged that the family was on his property, but the family maintained that they were not.

They then collected their items and returned home before notifying the authorities. Deputies arrived at the shooter’s residence and spoke with Cook. They also obtained photographs from a neighbor showing Cook wearing matching clothes while walking through the woods with a black rifle slung over his back. Cook was subsequently arrested on charges of aggravated assault. The investigation confirmed that the family was not on Cook’s property when he started shooting. A search warrant was executed at Cook’s home, where multiple rifles were discovered.
