  • Attorney Claims Julie Chrisley’s Resentencing Could Reduce Prison Term by 1-2 Years, ‘Its A Big Deal’

Attorney Claims Julie Chrisley’s Resentencing Could Reduce Prison Term by 1-2 Years, ‘Its A Big Deal’

Reality star, Julie Chrisley of Chrisley Knows Best, may avoid serving a lengthy prison term. As previously reported, a panel of three judges from the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has overturned Chrisley’s sentence for tax evasion and bank fraud. The judges determined that the original judge in her 2022 case made errors in the decision-making process.

PEOPLE, who obtained the court documents, reports that the judges concluded that while Chrisley was

    “indeed connected”

to the bank fraud scheme, there was insufficient evidence to prove her involvement before 2007. As a result, Chrisley will now face resentencing by a lower court.

Although an official ruling has yet to be made, her lawyer, Jay Surgent, has hope that Julie’s sentence may be

“significantly knocked off by 1-2 years”

and she could even be home as early as “next spring or summer.”

In June 2022, Julie Chrisley and Todd Chrisley, her husband, were convicted of engaging in fraudulent activities. They were found guilty of artificially inflating their net worth and obtaining loans from smaller banks with less stringent vetting processes. They managed to acquire over $30 million in fraudulent funds, reports note. Additionally, Julie was also convicted of obstruction of justice and wire fraud. Their former accountant, Peter Tarantino, was also found guilty of filing false tax returns.

“We’re pleased that the Court agreed that Julie’s sentence was improper, but we’re obviously disappointed that it rejected Todd’s appeal,”

Alex Little, the Chrisleys’ other attorney, told EW in a statement.

“With this step behind us, we can now challenge the couple’s convictions based on the illegal search that started the case.”

New Jersey Man Travels To Florida To Assault Individual With A Hammer He Deemed ‘A Bad Person’ In Online Game

A 20-year-old man named Edward Kang traveled from New Jersey to Fernandina Beach, Florida, to harm someone he had been playing against in an online video game, per FOX News. Kang specifically targeted a player he deemed a

    “bad person”

in the game, ArcheAge, which ultimately led to a violent confrontation. Kang is facing charges of attempted second-degree murder and armed burglary.

The argument between Kang and his victim, who is around the same age, took place within the virtual world of ArcheAge, a popular multiplayer online role-playing game similar to World of WarcrafI, reports note. The two reportedly never met in person before the incident. According to the arrest report, Kang began his travel on Thursday evening. His mother told police that she believed he was visiting a friend he had met through online gaming several years ago.

Kang flew from Newark Liberty International Airport on a Delta flight, arriving at Jacksonville International Airport around 2:00 a.m. on Friday. He then checked into the Ocean Coast Hotel and purchased a hammer and flashlight from a local Ace Hardware store.

The incident unfolded late Saturday night when Kang entered the victim’s home, which was unlocked reports reveal. The victim was playing video games in his bedroom and had briefly left the room to use the restroom. Moments later the victim’s stepfather described being woken up to screams, finding his stepson on the ground and Kang holding a hammer, Leeper said. The victim and his stepfather restrained Kang until deputies arrived at the home.

Leeper said the victim has suffered severe head injuries but he has been released from the hospital.

“The suspect was asked why he did what he did. The suspect stated, ‘He is a bad person online,’ talking about the victim,”

    Leeper said.

  • Chicago Woman Missing After Disappearing From Yoga Retreat In The Bahamas, Reports Say

Chicago Woman Missing After Disappearing From Yoga Retreat In The Bahamas, Reports Say

The family of a Chicago woman is expressing deep concern for her safety after she went missing during a yoga retreat in the Bahamas. Taylor Casey, 41 years old, was last seen on Paradise Island on Wednesday, as reported by the Royal Bahamas Police Force, per Huff Post.

According to a statement from a family representative, Casey, who has been practicing yoga for 15 years, had traveled to the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat Bahamas

“to fulfill a long-term goal of deepening her practice.”

The retreat center became alarmed when Casey did not attend her morning class on Thursday and subsequently requested authorities to investigate.

“The Ashram is asking anyone with information on Ms. Casey to contact the local police,”

the retreat center told the outlet.

“In the interim, it is collaborating with the authorities on their investigation.”

In the family’s press release, mother Colette Seymore said she thinks Casey

“is in danger because she was eager to share her yoga retreat experience with others upon her return”

    to the U.S.

“Taylor would never disappear like this,”

said Seymore, who is now heading to the Bahamas to help find her daughter. Earlier this year, the U.S. State Department issued a travel advisory for the Caribbean country, saying,

“Violent crime, such as burglaries, armed robberies, and sexual assaults, occur in both tourist and non-tourist areas.”

  • Armed Teenagers In Toronto Try To Rob Sneaker Store and Store Employees Fight Back

Armed Teenagers In Toronto Try To Rob Sneaker Store and Store Employees Fight Back

A group of armed teenagers stormed a trendy clothing store in Toronto and attempted to rob it, as reported by Daily News. The whole incident was captured on video, including the brave moment when the store staff fought back against the would-be thieves.

The masked men arrived at the store in Toronto on June 23 and ordered the employees to

    “get on the floor.”

While one of the suspects held a gun to a staff member’s head, the other two started stealing clothes and sneakers. However, as they tried to escape, one employee managed to grab one of the armed suspects and wrestle him to the ground.

The other two thieves were able to get away in a stolen car. The remaining staff members then took action against the captured suspect, punching him and disarming him. The teenage bandit tried fighting back and yelled

    “let me out”

as he struggled with the staff.

Just before the thief could make his escape, the Toronto Police Department showed up and arrested the teenager. The young robber is now facing multiple charges, including robbery with a firearm, possession of a firearm without authorization, and theft offenses. It is still uncertain how much the stolen goods by the other two thieves were worth.

The authorities have not yet identified the other suspects and are requesting anyone with information to reach out to the police or Crime Stoppers.

  • Florida Beachgoer Who Was Searching For Turtle Nests Discovers Bricks Of Cocaine Worth $4M

Florida Beachgoer Who Was Searching For Turtle Nests Discovers Bricks Of Cocaine Worth $4M

A man searching for sea turtle nests on a beach in north Florida stumbled upon a stash of cocaine bricks weighing over 70 pounds, with a street value of $4 million, reports the NY Post. The incident occurred on Friday morning at Amelia Island Beach in Nassau County.

The bricks, which weighed 32 kilograms, were wrapped in plastic and had a picture of a bald eagle on top, as seen in the photos. While the drugs themselves are estimated to be worth $1 million in brick form, law enforcement officials believe that the street value goes for over $4 million.

“We came out looking for shark teeth, but their value is not quite the street value of the other stuff that’s washing up. But we’re still looking for shark teeth,”

Paula Johns, a tourist from South Carolina, told the outlet.

As reported, it is normal for large quantities of packaged drugs to be found on the shores of southern Florida, where smuggling is widespread. However, it is unusual to discover such a large amount of cocaine in a more northern area.

“It’s very rare here in Nassau County,”

Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper said.

Leeper thinks that the drug smugglers probably threw the drugs overboard.

“More than likely, it was on a boat that law enforcement or Coast Guard was getting close to and they just threw it overboard to get rid of it so they didn’t have possession of it. The sea current just washes it up along the coastline,”

    he said.

  • 50 Cent Could Be Sanctioned For Allegedly Ignoring Deposition Request From Radio Host He Struck In The Head With Microphone

50 Cent Could Be Sanctioned For Allegedly Ignoring Deposition Request From Radio Host He Struck In The Head With Microphone

Radio personality Bryhana Monegain is determined to hold rapper 50 Cent accountable in their ongoing legal battle. Monegain has taken her case to court, filing a motion requesting the judge to impose sanctions on the rapper. This comes after repeated unsuccessful attempts to get 50 Cent to participate in a deposition.

According to court documents, Monegain alleges that since she filed the lawsuit against 50 Cent earlier this year, she has faced obstacles in her pursuit of justice. As previously reported, the Power 106 host claims that 50 Cent threw a microphone which struck her in the head back in August of last year, resulting in a concussion, laceration, and bruises.

Despite multiple attempts to schedule a deposition with 50 Cent’s lawyers, Monegain said that he has failed to follow through on any of the proposed dates. She is now seeking a fine of $5,000 and a court order compelling the musician to appear on the upcoming scheduled date. Her lawyers wrote in the document,

“Due to the pendency of the August 5, 2024, mediation date, an Order compelling [50] to sit for deposition and provide testimony must be made forthwith.”

50 Cents lawyers had responded to Monegain initial lawsuit stating that the rapper would not intentionally harm anyone.

“Let’s be very clear, as I told LAPD this afternoon, my client Curtis [’50 Cent’ Jackson] would never intentionally strike anyone with a microphone…Anyone saying something different doesn’t have all the facts and is misinformed.”

As of now, there is no official report regarding a judge’s ruling on the matter.

New Tesla Cybertrucks In Florida Vandalized With Spray Paint That Said ‘F-k Elon’ On It

In a targeted act of vandalism, a group of individuals expressed their disdain for Tesla CEO Elon Musk by spray painting

    “F—k Elon”

on 34 recently purchased Cybertrucks in Florida, per the NY Post

The incident was brought to the attention of Fort Lauderdale police by a concerned individual who reported the defacement on Thursday morning around 8:30 am. These electric vehicles were in perfect condition the previous night, according to the individual.

“It was just one row and then it was a second row, and then a third row and a fourth row,”

Adam Docktor, who works nearby, told WPLG.

The Cybertruck has a price range of $57,000 to $96,000, depending on the version. Tesla rented a parking lot to store these vehicles, but the lot doesn’t have much security, according to WPLG. The Cybertrucks had been parked there for about three days.

The graffiti on the trucks was removed by Friday afternoon, as reported by WPLG. The police have not made any arrests yet, and

     the investigation is still ongoing.

  • 4-Year-Old Boy Found Safe After 24 Hours Alone In California Woods

4-Year-Old Boy Found Safe After 24 Hours Alone In California Woods

A 4-year-old boy who had gone missing at a lake in Fresno County, California, has been located safe and sound after spending nearly 24 hours alone in the nearby woods, per CNN. The Tulare County Search and Rescue Team found young Christian Ramirez around 8 a.m. on Friday, just a quarter mile away from the spot where he was last seen. Rescuers discovered him sheltered beneath a tree, bringing an end to the anxious search.

“We’re fortunate this morning that as these searchers were calling out for the boy, he called back,”

Fresno County Sheriff’s Lt. Brandon Pursell told KFSN. Christian was fatigued and hungry but in good condition, the sheriff’s office said. He is now back with his parents.

The child was found in a wooded area, Pursell told KABC, and

“it was pretty clear that he had been lost and he had kind of hunkered down for the entire night.”

The boy who is reportedly three-foot-tall and 40 pounds was just wearing a t-shirt and shorts, according to KFSN.

“Huntington is known to have bears. There’s possibilities of big cats up there also. We also have snakes. There’s lots of little dangers up there. Slip-and-fall hazards and waterways,”

    Pursell said.

The family reported that their son had gone missing from their campsite at the Rancheria Campground in Huntington Lake around 11 a.m. on Thursday.

“In a matter of less than five minutes, he just disappeared,”

    Pursell said.

Immediately after receiving the report, a dedicated team of dogs, helicopters, and almost 70 rescuers tirelessly scoured the area in search of Christian, as reported by KFSN.

“This was an amazing show of teamwork and dedication. There were more than 50 deputies and volunteers who combined to participate in this search,”

    the sheriff’s office said.

“This included members of other law enforcement agencies who assisted us, working non-stop throughout the night.”
