    Jury Finds A$AP Rocky Not Guilty In Criminal Trial

    The jury has declared that A$AP Rocky is not guilty of firing shots at his former friend. The acquittal was the result of a three-week courtroom ordeal that would have separated the musician from his billionaire girlfriend and children for over two decades if he was found guilty. Rocky’s acquittal led to cheers in the courtroom as he thanked his fans and jurors for saving his life and giving him a new life.

    Jury Declares A$AP Rocky Not Guilty

    A$AP Rocky walked free on Tuesday, February 18, after a jury said he was not guilty of shooting at a friend with malicious intent. Rocky was on the stand for allegedly shooting at an old friend in November 2021 during a confrontation. The three-week trial in a Los Angeles courtroom was held to determine whether A$AP Rocky was guilty of two counts of using a semi-automatic firearm or not. After the not-guilty verdict was read, A$AP Rocky jumped over a bench to hug Rihanna.

    He also hugged his lawyer and then jumped into the audience to hug other supporters as the courtroom cheered.

    “Thank y’all for saving my life,” Rocky told the 12-person jury.

    Outside the courtroom, he thanked God for the acquittal and said he was grateful to be free. The plaintiff, Relli, has filed a civil lawsuit against Rocky. Meanwhile, LA District Attorney Nathan Hochman said his department respected the jury’s decision.

    A$AP Relli Accused Rocky Of Injuring Him

    A$AP Rocky and A$AP Relli were high school friends who joined the same rap group. Later, they became part of the A$AP hip-hop Mob. The lawsuit and subsequent trial that resulted in a not-guilty verdict for A$AP Rocky stemmed from a heated argument that allegedly almost turned deadly between them. According to court proceedings, Rocky and Relli, born Terell Ephron, were arguing over the funeral expenses of a mutual friend who died in New York when a fight broke out.

    Relli testified that Rocky had promised to cover the cost of flying the body home. However, their discussion turned into a confrontation. He claimed that Rocky fired two shots directly at him, one of which grazed his knuckles. Relli said he suffered a minor injury from the attack. He was represented by attorneys Ben Chew and Camille Vasquez, Johnny Depp’s former lawyers who represented him during his 2022 defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.

    A$AP Rocky Fired A Prop Gun

    Meanwhile, A$AP Rocky’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, got the jury to deliver a not-guilty verdict. He argued that the rapper fired a prop gun in self-defense. His team claimed that Rocky used the gun in a music video and had kept it with him ever since for protection. They claimed he used it to scare off Relli, who was attacking two of his friends. They also claimed that the gun only fired blanks, so he didn’t intend to harm Relli. The entire prosecution and defense was built on this argument.

    “Was it a real gun, or was it a fake gun? Nothing else is in dispute,” Deputy District Attorney Paul Przelomiec asked jurors during his closing statement.

    He also expressed discomfort over A$AP Rocky and Rihanna’s status within the entertainment industry, noting that they could cancel Relli if they chose to. However, in his closing statement, Tacopina claimed Relli was after money.

    “This is a man whose tongue is a stranger to the truth. The important facts he gave you turned out to be lies,” he said.

    A$AP Rocky faced 24 years in jail if he didn’t get the not guilty verdict from the jury, as he turned down a six-month plea deal with conditions. His acquittal makes him free to be with his family again. Hopefully, he will stay out of trouble from now.

    Netizens have applauded Rihanna’s very suitable clapback at a fan who insulted her forehead. The singer, known for her fiery retorts, posted an Instagram video on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, that showed her ringing in the new year. She held a phone in her hand as she counted down with friends in the room. The caption read, “New Year, New Me.” As Rihanna shouted “Happy New Year” after the countdown, she told her fans she stayed sober throughout the year. 

    “Y’all, I didn’t drink all year. I didn’t drink all year,” she shouted with excitement. 

    However, a devoted but rude fan took to her comment section and made a request. 

    “We want an album forehead,” the individual named Lorenzo wrote. 

    However, Rihanna’s clapback put him in his place. 

    “Listen Lorenzo! You ain’t cute enough to be calling me by my black name you dizzy fuck!” the Fenty Beauty founder responded. 

    Not only does Lorenzo not know about a possible album, but he also got hit with Rihanna’s clapback.

    Rihanna Hinted At Possible Retirement

    Lorenzo is not the only one waiting for news about new music from Rihanna. Fans often long for her to release new songs. However, Rihanna’s music career has stalled since she started her business. Meanwhile, she hinted at a possible retirement at a Fenty Beauty launch event in Barbados in November. 

    “I would say music was the thing that got the attention. But God had other plans for me, and I was able to create in ways … that were very sincere and genuine or organic and authentic to the things that I love,” she said.

    “So it doesn’t even feel like a job. But when you bring it home, I cannot express to you guys what this day means for me to be able to celebrate with the people that deserve it the most, the community that has always propelled me to the next place and given me the strength and the grace and you guys have always inspired me,” she added. 

    Rihanna’s statement won’t come as a surprise, considering her last album, Anti, was released almost a decade ago. 

    Rihanna May Release New Music

    Meanwhile, Rihanna may very well surprise her fans. She is not only the queen of clapbacks, but she is also adept at astounding people. The Diamonds singer shocked everyone when she revealed her second pregnancy during her Super Bowl halftime performance in February 2023. Similarly, there have been talks about a ninth studio album from the mom of two. According to The Sun, Rihanna will release a new album featuring collaborations with many artists in 2025.

    “And now, I’m prepared to go back in the studio. Now I’m prepared, so I’m gonna start, she said, per the outlet. “I’m really happy with a lot of the material we have so far, but I am not going to put it out until it’s complete.” 

    The report also states that Rihanna will go on a World Tour in 2025. However, the singer has not confirmed the veracity of the report.

While on the red carpet, Rihanna made a shocking confession that startled some fans eagerly waiting for her to release new music. The Work singer revealed that motherhood was her new priority.

    When asked how being a mom had impacted her creative process, she responded:

    “It’s impacted it greatly. It’s a new priority. My kids are my priority. Music comes second to that.”

    Rihanna, who shares two kids with A$AP Rocky, last released music in 2016 with her album Anti. She has been teasing the release of her next album, R9, but that may be on hold for now.
