SmileDirectClub Leaves Their Customers Hanging As The Company Prepares For Shut Down, Customers Outraged Over Incomplete Treatments and Unpaid Bill

SmileDirectClub, which is known for its direct-to-consumer invisible aligners, has decided to shut down its operations after filing for bankruptcy protection, according to Business Insider. This unexpected announcement has left many customers with concerns about their ongoing treatment and payment obligations.

People seeking information are greeted with a notice on SmileDirectClub’s website that reads,

“For existing customers, we apologize for the inconvenience, but customer care support is no longer available.”

SmileDirectClub announced that it’ll be canceling its aligner treatment and any pending orders that have not yet been shipped. However, the company has also stated that customers who have remaining balances will still be obligated to finish making their payments.

“SmilePay customers are expected to continue to make all monthly payments until payment has been made in full per the terms of our SmilePay program.”

SmileDirectClub customers have turned to the company’s subreddit page for answers now that their customer care support no longer exists. A customer recently shared their experience of signing up for aligners less than a week ago. However, they have now taken the step of contacting their credit card company to dispute the charge.

“I literally just signed up 6 days ago. Spend $300 and signed up for the payment plan,”

    they wrote.

Netflix’s Too Hot To Handle star, Christine Obanor, who is also a customer of SmileDirectClub, took to TikTok to voice her frustrations on the company’s shut down.

“SmileDirect ending has to be the worst thing that’s ever happened to me,”

    she said.

“I have one aligner left, and I don’t know what to do.”

After going public in 2019, SmileDirectClub faced a significant decline in company shares in 2020 due to difficulties in meeting analyst expectations. Initially, the company’s remarkable success led its cofounders, Alex Fenkell and Jordan Katzman, to become two of the youngest billionaires in the United States.

  • Kesha Takes Off Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs off Her TikTok Song Lyrics

Kesha Takes Off Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs off Her TikTok Song Lyrics

For the TikTok crooner, the court does not have to decide if Sean Diddy Combs is guilty or not in Cassie’s lawsuit; Kesha just doesn’t want to associate with him for now. The pop star who recently performed her hit track TikTok omitted Diddy’s name from her song.

Kesha Name Drops Diddy in TikTok

On Saturday, the atmosphere in Hollywood Palladium reeked of electrifying vibes from Kesha and her performers. While on stage, the singer traveled more than ten years to tap on her breakout song. Kesha’s TikTok, aka her debut track, could be heard reverberating in the atmosphere as she danced to the music.

Meanwhile, Kesha already changed the past — by modifying the lyrics of her song. The first few lines of the original song were:

“Wake up in the morning feelin’ like P.Diddy.”

    Following her modification, she sang:

“Wake up in the morning feelin’ just like me.”

The singer’s omission comes days after Cassie, who dated Sean Diddy Combs for a decade, slammed the rapper with a sexual assault lawsuit. USA Today made attempts to reach Kesha, but she remains lip-locked following her stunt.

Cassie Pulls Out An Abuse Lawsuit On Sean Diddy Combs

Speaking of stunts, Cassie surprised everyone when she dragged her ex-lover to court. The Me & U singer claimed via her legal documents that Diddy was abusive emotionally, physically, and mentally. Allegedly, he was violent with her, drugged, and forced her to sleep with male prostitutes. According to Cassie, this happened in different states across the US.

In the bombshell lawsuit, it was discovered that Diddy might have been a threat to her life. She recounted how he dominated her because of how young and naive she must have seemed. At the same time, she claimed that it was almost impossible to get away. In her words, Diddy threatened to blow up Kid Cudi’s car after she moved on with him following their split in 2012. Shortly after the threat, Cudi’s car went up in smoke.

What many expected to be a high-profile case turned out to be a short episode. Hours after Cassie’s filing, the defendant accused her of being a fraud whose blackmail had failed. But before any more news could fly, the pair considered settling out of court.

  • Mother Believes She and Her Baby Contracted Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease From A Grocery Store Shopping Cart

Mother Believes She and Her Baby Contracted Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease From A Grocery Store Shopping Cart

A video that gained widespread attention on TikTok featured a mother revealing that both she and her child were infected with hand-foot-and-mouth disease from a Grocery Store shopping cart. Syd, a popular TikToker known for sharing content related to lifestyle and motherhood, posted a video that showed her son seated in a shopping cart, accompanied by pictures displaying redness and lesions on her hands and in the vicinity of her mouth. The text that overlayed the video said,

“puts baby in the shopping cart for the first time, gets a horrible case of hand-foot-and-mouth.”

In another video, she responded to a questions from a user who asked if her baby was infected.

“Yes, my baby did get it. That’s how I got it. So he got it from the grocery cart,”

    she said.

“He touched [the cart] and then put his hands in his mouth, like all babies do.”

Although she claimed she conducted the proper sanitary precautions after her trip to the grocery store, she added

“But it was already too late. He started showing symptoms a couple of days later.”

The CDC states that hand-foot-and-mouth disease is a mildly contagious viral infection. Typical symptoms are

“fever, mouth sores, and skin rash mainly on the hands and feet,”

reports the Daily Dot. Although not life-threatening, symptoms may persist for about 10 to 12 days.

The TikToker revealed that despite her family being infected, she seemed to have gotten it the worst.

“Thankfully, he didn’t have too bad of symptoms. He had a slight fever and a little bit of a rash was uncomfortable for a couple of days, but he’s recovered now, thankfully, and didn’t get it as bad as I did,”

said the stay at home mom.

  • Teen Confesses To Unexpectedly Punching Random Individuals At A Texas Park To Go Viral On Social Media

Teen Confesses To Unexpectedly Punching Random Individuals At A Texas Park To Go Viral On Social Media

Alford Lewis, a 19-year-old from Texas, has confessed to engaging in unprovoked attacks on innocent individuals in public places, all in a bid to gain attention on social media, per the NY Post

Lewis stated that he deeply regrets his actions and acknowledges that he made a grave error in judgment. Following the release of a disturbing video capturing Lewis assaulting at least two people as they enjoyed their time at Wortham Park in Houston, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into these violent incidents.

The video quickly spread on social media platforms and the neighborhood watch app Nextdoor, prompting outrage and concern among regular park-goers who demanded swift action against the perpetrator. Lewis has since come forward to apologize for his offenses.

“You know, I just made a mistake and everybody makes mistakes,”

    he told the local outlet.

“I really didn’t expect for it to go so left, you know,”

    he said.

In the now-viral video, none of the victims appear to retaliate or defend themselves against the teenager’s attacks, instead appearing startled by the sudden hit. Lewis has emphasized that the video only captures the negative aspect of his actions and fails to depict the aftermath.

“What people don’t see is that I shook his hand after and gave the man a hug,”

    he claimed.

It is unclear if any charges were brought against the teen however, Lewis did leave advice for other young people who plan on going out to do something they’ll regret.

“Before you go out and do anything you feel is bad, or that could look bad, make sure, like, people know – or just don’t do it at all,”

    he said.

  • Teacher Fired After Posting TikToks Where He Joked About Deceiving Students and Passing Gas On Them

Teacher Fired After Posting TikToks Where He Joked About Deceiving Students and Passing Gas On Them

A teacher in Kansas City, Missouri, has been fired from his job after posting TikTok videos that suggested he intentionally told students wrong information and farted on them if they

    “annoyed”

    him, reports Insider

Stephen Taylor taught history and product design at the Mill Creek Campus alternative school. When he’s off the clock Taylor said he pursues his true passion which is comedy.

He would film videos in his classroom after school hours. The videos included Taylor admitting to sharing incorrect information with students and sometimes

    “crop dusting,”

    or

    “farting”

on them. He also discussed topics about students using drug-related language.

Taylor told Insider that he planned on quitting his teaching job in 2024 to focus on his comedy career and was using TikTok to build his online presence.

At first, the principal advised Taylor against filming on school property, but Taylor did not follow the advice and ended up on administrative leave.

He eventually took down the videos but was still terminated. The school district cited violations of their social media policy and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act as the reasons for his dismissal.

“Online communication should meet the standards of professional interactions expected at school or among the school community,”

said a letter from the HR department addressed to Taylor.

Taylor fired back at school administrators,  calling their school policy

    “vague.”

    He told Insider,

“I think the social media policy is too vague to violate. It’s a catch-all clause that allows them to ‘pick and choose’ who’s in the wrong based on their opinions, which are usually self-serving.”

  • Mother Shocked After Son Received Bad Grades For Failing To Bring Classroom Supplies

Mother Shocked After Son Received Bad Grades For Failing To Bring Classroom Supplies

A mother recently took to TikTok to share a concerning incident involving her son’s teacher and classroom supplies for the entire class. In her video, which has gained over 2 million views and a plethora of comments, Shanitta explained that her son was instructed to bring in supplies such as tissues, hand sanitizer, and wipes for his classroom

She bought classroom supplies, but a zero still marked her son’s classroom supplies grade in the third week. Shanitta emailed the teacher, disagreeing with grading students based on supply contributions. She also reached out to the principal to address the issue. She explained,

“I don’t feel that it’s the parent’s job to supply your classroom. And, I definitely don’t think it’s appropriate to assign a grade to students based off of whether or not they supplied your class with supplies.”

BuzzFeed contacted Shanitta, who explained that she contacted the principal to highlight the financial strain this requirement places on families, particularly those who are already struggling. The principal responded by stating that penalizing students for lacking supplies is not standard practice.

    She told the news outlet,

“I pointed out to the principal that although my family could afford to buy the additional supplies, there are many families that are already struggling to buy their children’s personal school supplies and simply can’t afford the extra. This would mainly affect lower income families and that isn’t right for the kids as it’s not their fault.”

Shanitta thinks schools should supply resources, not just relying on teachers or parents. Many TikTok users supported Shanitta’s viewpoint, agreeing that students should not be penalized for not bringing in supplies.

Astrologer Believes Solar Eclipse Will Begin A New Moon Season for Libra

If you believe in zodiac signs and everything astrology, you will be familiar with the solar eclipse and the new moon season for Libra. This means that on October 14, 2023, there will be a dramatic change — not just in the sky but in the lives of all astrology enthusiasts.

What The Solar Eclipse Is All About

It is true that with your phone in your hand, you can tap into any info you desire. As an astrology lover, you do not need updates by glancing at the sky in the dead of the night. TikToker Bella, who is devoted to the cause, was quick to share the news with fans.

Her recent update explains that the solar eclipse will appear on October 14, and it “wants to give you a fresh start, but only if you’re willing to say goodbye to something!”

After affirming that new moons connote a fresh start, she claimed the Libra solar eclipse is with “the south node.” In the astrology dictionary, this means there will be a purge. This would affect every area of your life, including relationships and career.

At the same time, Bella shared a hard truth about change. She said:

“The best thing we can do is choose the path of least resistance and and and and and and accept [the changes] even if they don’t make sense.”

Another astrology devotee and TikToker, Alicia Ying, believes the solar eclipse will usher in another change. But to her, it will not be difficult for people to bear. In her words:

“This is such powerful energy that if you choose to take advantage of it, you will be so fully transformed that by the end of the month, you will not have even recognized yourself because just fell into place and you started to get it all.”

    Fans Are Divided

Meanwhile, there has been a division in the opinions of some TikTok users. Some believe there is nothing to the solar eclipse and feel the same about their lives.

But a handful of astrologer believers testified to the career change they recently experienced. Some claimed they received a pay raise; others said there was a pull.

Woman Says She Relocated To Virginia From Florida For A New Job That She Worked At For 7 Days, Then HR Told Her She Was Never Hired

Camryn Spina recently shared her experience of relocating from Florida to Virginia for a job that, as it turned out, didn’t exist. This 24-year-old had applied for a cheerleading coach position at a college and received a positive response that left her eager to start, reports Insider.

She underwent two interviews with the head coach and was even assigned tasks related to the position. However, a crucial detail was missing – she never received a formal contract or offer letter. This oversight became apparent only later.

The college arranged for her to rent a car to come from Florida to Virginia after her initial online interview. After a successful second interview, she made the official move. She started working immediately, coaching athletes and managing team affairs.

On August 8, her boss asked her to check with human resources about her details. HR’s response shocked her – her application was still under review, and there was no record of her being hired. After discussing the situation with her boss, it was confirmed that she had never been officially hired. Communication with her boss ceased, and she worried about the money spent on the move.

Fortunately, the college’s HR department later reimbursed her for her relocation expenses and seven days of work, understanding the misunderstanding that had occurred.

According to Insider, the school reimbursed her $1,600. The woman noted that she spent $1,500 on the move to Virginia. Spina says she is currently living with her parents and working a remote, part-time job.
