Alford Lewis, a 19-year-old from Texas, has confessed to engaging in unprovoked attacks on innocent individuals in public places, all in a bid to gain attention on social media, per the NY Post

Lewis stated that he deeply regrets his actions and acknowledges that he made a grave error in judgment. Following the release of a disturbing video capturing Lewis assaulting at least two people as they enjoyed their time at Wortham Park in Houston, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into these violent incidents.

The video quickly spread on social media platforms and the neighborhood watch app Nextdoor, prompting outrage and concern among regular park-goers who demanded swift action against the perpetrator. Lewis has since come forward to apologize for his offenses.

“You know, I just made a mistake and everybody makes mistakes,”

he told the local outlet.

“I really didn’t expect for it to go so left, you know,”

he said.

In the now-viral video, none of the victims appear to retaliate or defend themselves against the teenager’s attacks, instead appearing startled by the sudden hit. Lewis has emphasized that the video only captures the negative aspect of his actions and fails to depict the aftermath.

“What people don’t see is that I shook his hand after and gave the man a hug,”

he claimed.

It is unclear if any charges were brought against the teen however, Lewis did leave advice for other young people who plan on going out to do something they’ll regret.

“Before you go out and do anything you feel is bad, or that could look bad, make sure, like, people know – or just don’t do it at all,”

he said.
