Authorities arrested Alissa McCommon, 38, at her Covington residence. She now confronts charges of aggravated stalking, harassment, and coercing. This comes just three weeks after she was initially arrested on rape accusations. McCommon, on a $25,000 bond, allegedly contacted the boy she’s accused of raping in 2021, using a code word and explicit photos.

Convington officials said,

“The evidence indicates McCommon texted a victim, using a specific code word known to the juvenile as a code word McCommon would previously utilize to confirm that the juvenile was alone, often before sending nude photographs on Snapchat.”

During their text exchange, McCommon reportedly admitted to a sexual encounter with the boy. She also sent him multiple messages warning him that he would regret reporting her to the authorities. The victim immediately reported the harassment, leading to the teacher’s arrest on the same day. Covington Police Chief Donna Turner expressed concern about the violation of McCommon’s bond conditions and the possibility of her contacting others due to the nature of the communications. McCommon is now being held without bond in the Tipton County Jail.

In addition to the alleged rape of her former student, McCommon is accused of inappropriate relationships with other former students online. She allegedly sent them inappropriate photos and asked to have sex with them. On August 24, she was suspended without pay from her position at Charger Academy after a parent made the allegations against her. Despite the charges, McCommon says she is innocent, and her defense attorney claims that she is the target of a

“witch hunt”

on social media.
