Two Dead And Six Injured After Bus Driver Intentionally Crashes Into Canadian Daycare Center

Two children have tragically died, and six more have been injured, after a bus driver in Laval, Quebec intentionally crashed into a daycare center this morning, Vice News reported.

At around 8:30 A.M., Pierre Ny St-Amand plowed his bus into the Garderie Éducative Sainte-Rose. A parent who witnessed the incident claims she saw the 51-year-old enter the parking lot and accelerate to crash into the building’s entrance. “It was clear he wasn’t in his right mind at that moment,” she said.

After the collision took place, St-Amand undressed himself as he began scream. A neighbor who lived close to the childcare center, along with three other parents, subdued the driver. After attempting to get away, one of the parents had to strike the driver in his head in order to get him under control before officers arrived to make the arrest.

“He was yelling, he didn’t stop yelling,” a witness explained. “The first thing he did was take off all his clothes after opening the bus door. . . He was just yelling, there were no words coming out of his mouth.”

Six children were taken to a nearby hospital for their injuries. One is in critical condition, but is expected to survive. Unfortunately, two of the victims have succumbed to their wounds.

St-Amand has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and four counts of assault with a weapon causing bodily harm. Police have not mentioned a potential motive, but say that St-Amand had been working for Laval’s transit system for over 10 years.
