Two Kentucky men are now in police custody after attempting to kidnap a child because one of them thought he was “cute,” Law And Crime reported.
On Monday, just before 1 P.M., officers from the Winchester Police Department were sent to a playground after a witness reported that two men were trying to get children at the park to leave with them. Later identified as 21-year-old Rahul and 23-year-old Arvind, the duo waited at the top of a slide for children to come up. Arvind then allegedly grabbed a 7-year-old boy, forced the child to sit beside him, and then took his picture. When the boy’s mother realized what was happening, she called her son over, but the he was too frightened to move.
“The kid stated that the male physically held his wrist down and forced him to take a picture with him,” the Winchester officers explained. “These pictures were found on the phone of the suspect. The kid was terrorized [by] the suspects. The mother of the child called for the child, and he was too scared to get up and go to her because the male was still sitting with him. The male had his arm around the child. The other male stated that this child was picked because he was ‘cute.’”
Rahul has been charged with kidnapping a minor, while Arvind has been charged with kidnapping a minor and assault in the fourth degree with no visible injury. Both are currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center on $10,000 bonds. They are now scheduled to appear in court April 10th.
