A woman from Florida was arrested after allegedly assaulting her mother and stealing her car during an argument, reports WESH2. The incident occurred in Cocoa, Florida, last Thursday afternoon. Amber Scheuren-Rusnak, 25 years old, reportedly had a heated argument with her mother, during which she physically attacked her. After the altercation, Scheuren-Rusnak is accused of taking her mother’s car and hitting her with it.

A witness called 911 to report the incident, and police arrived at the scene to find Scheuren-Rusnak’s injured mother. She was then taken to the hospital in critical condition; however, reports added that she’s stable. The exact cause of their argument is still unknown.

After leaving the scene, Scheuren-Rusnak abandoned her mother’s car. However, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office officers, aided by a K-9 unit, were able to locate her as she tried to hide nearby. She was taken into custody and charged with aggravated battery and carjacking. The Cocoa Police Department mentioned that further charges may be added as the investigation progresses.

This arrest marks Scheuren-Rusnak’s 10th since 2018 and her fourth this year. Her previous charges include domestic battery, drug possession, prostitution, and battery.
