During a heart-to-heart confession on Club Shay Shay, 21 Savage was honest about the gunshot wounds he suffered at a time that should have been his happiest. The rapper dives into the story, explaining why he left the thug life.

21 Savage Was Arrested After Being Shot Six Times

Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay welcomed 21 Savage after days of being the talk of the town. The show had previously featured Katt Williams, who went on a ranting spree against half of the celebrities in the industry. Since then, Sharpe’s show has been called controversial, and the interviewer has been lambasted over his conduct.

But now, 21 Savage seems to be giving the show a facelift with his recent interview on Club Shay Shay. The rapper spoke about his birthday as a much younger man who lived the thug lifestyle. A sober-looking 21 Savage explained that he was a victim of gunshots that left six different scars on his body.

As stated in Hot New Hip Hop, the rapper claimed he was with a friend on his birthday when two gunmen approached them. They left after killing 21 Savage’s companion and shooting him six times. Thankfully, the rapper managed to call 911 but was almost arrested by a policeman.

During his episode on Club Shay Shay, 21 Savage confessed that living by the guns and streets was pointless. He explained that young men who lacked attention from home turned to the streets for fame and attention. According to him, it usually starts with being naughty in school and accumulating detention hours.

To this day, the rapper regrets losing his friend, who was supposed to be with his family. Moving forward, 21 Savage pledged loyalty to family and loved ones — including his fans. He recently dropped a new album titled “American Dream.” This project has been warmly received as it comfortably sits on the Billboard 200. Some tracks from the album have also made it to the Hot 100.
